Likely thanks to delays caused by the now settled dual Hollywood strikes, we won’t see the third season of Max’s And Just Like That until 2025.
The return was confirmed in a Max promo released earlier today with first looks of its upcoming 2024/2025 lineup. The spot also confirmed previously announced 2025 premieres for HBO’s Euphoria, The White Lotus and The Last of Us.
A specific premiere date for the Sex and the City continuation series was never set, but the writers room was back in operation beginning in early November following resolution of the WGA strike, and production start pending resolution of the SAG-AFTRA strike. It was just ratified last night with 78.33% of ballots in favor of the November 8 tentative agreement with the AMPTP.
It won’t be the first lengthy delay between seasons of the Sex and the City sequel. There were 15 months between the Season 1 finale on Feb.

With his work spanning decades of TV and film, and a warm presence that’s equally radiant across screens big and small, John Corbett has made an illustrious career from being “that guy” in “that rom-com.”
The 62-year-old actor is perhaps best known for his role as Aidan Shaw: Carrie’s second choice on the ’90s smash hit “Sex and the City” and the second-most controversial character in its contemporary Max spinoff, “And Just Like That…”
Corbett is equally celebrated for his breakout film performance as the leading man in indie darling “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” Nia Vardalos’ treasured love story from 2002 tells the tale of a sheltered woman and her enormous, meddlesome family introducing Corbett’s dashing fiance character, the magnanimous school teacher Ian Miller, to countless kooky relatives, the Greek Orthodox Church, and the healing power of Windex.

And Just Like That is the third reboot of the HBO cult classic show Sex and the City, which pushed the boundaries of stories and topics regarding the kind of relationships that were never discussed on television before. The original received cult status amongst many for presenting the stories of four financially independent women who lived life by their own rules in New York City and never let a man question any of their decisions. One of them is Carrie Bradshaw, who seems to have stumbled a lot on her journey to find the perfect partner. Decades later, And Just Like That begins with Carrie still married to John and living in New York. The central character’s arc from here on spans seasons one and two.
The first season begins with Carrie losing John to a heart attack. The grief had not hit her yet, but she was surrounded...

And just like that… another chaotic, traumatizing, and strangely addictive season of And Just Like That… has come to an end. Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen the season 2 finale of “And Just Like That”, proceed with caution.
And we couldn’t help but wonder, what exactly is going on in Manhattan? The season 2 finale of the “Sex and the City” reboot, “And Just Like That”, was more vague and open-ended than Anthony’s Italian boyfriend’s poetry career.
It started off on a good note with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) taking a delightful phone call from her former bestie, Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). The previously teased exchange was light and fun, with a little reference to a past “Sex and the City” bit.
Things were on the upswing as a hungover Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) informed her husband, Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler), that he was not, in fact, doing the most but rather the “bare minimum” in an epic soft-spoken feminist monologue to rival that of America Ferrera in the “Barbie” movie.

Spoiler Alert: This column contains spoilers from “The Last Supper Part Two: Entrée,” the Season 2 finale of “And Just Like That,” now streaming on Max.
Before the second season of “And Just Like That” even premiered, we knew that Kim Cattrall would (briefly) return as her “Sex and the City” character Samantha Jones. The ratings rationale for bringing back such a beloved figure were obvious enough, but creatively, the move seemed oddly self-defeating. After an awkward start, the sequel series had finally started to establish its own identity. What was the point of reminding viewers what they were missing, let alone with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo featuring no other cast members?
But to my great surprise, Cattrall’s appearance in the 11th and final episode of Season 2 was both effective and, against all odds, organic. The two-part finale, titled “The Last Supper,” was all about saying goodbye and paying tribute...

The following story contains spoilers for "And Just Like That" season two.
"And Just Like That" just wrapped up its second season on Aug. 24, and one of its buzziest storylines was the highly anticipated return of John Corbett as Aidan Shaw.
In the original "Sex and the City," Aidan was one of Carrie's primary love interests, but the pair never could make it work long-term. Fans wondered if this would finally be their chance, or if Aidan's appearance would just end in more heartbreak for Carrie. Ahead, we're revisiting their long, complicated relationship history, and what went down in season two.
In What Episode Did Carrie and Aidan Meet?
Aidan is first introduced in the season three episode "No Ifs, Ands, or Butts." Carrie is relatively fresh off her most recent breakup with Big, who is now married to Natasha. As she tries to put herself back out there, Carrie meets Aidan,...

Max officially renewed And Just Like That… ahead of its much-anticipated season two finale which will feature the return of Kim Cattrall as Samantha. Season two episode 11 – part two of “The Last Supper” – finally delivers the cameo fans of the original foursome have eagerly anticipated.
Even though Samatha won’t be sharing scenes with her former Sex and the City co-stars, Cattrall will be seen in a cameo, styled by Patricia Field and shot in secret. In an interview on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Kim Cattrall confirmed that shopping in Bergdorf’s and picking out a great outfit for her cameo felt like dipping her toe back in time and having a wonderful afternoon.
However, fans shouldn’t expect Kim Cattrall back for the just-announced third season. It seems this short cameo is a one-off and not a precursor to an extended return as Samantha.

“And Just Like That” is back on Max for a second season, and it’s bringing some famous — and familiar — faces.
Kim Cattrall confirmed that she will reprise her role of Samantha Jones in an on-camera cameo. Her character communicated with Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) via text message throughout the first season, including Mr. Big’s funeral and the Paris finale.
A slim and trim John Corbett will return as Carrie’s former fiance Aidan Shaw as she moves on from the death of her husband.
“Sex and the City” fans will also be thrilled that Candice Bergen will reprise her role as Carrie’s former editor Enid Frick. Julie Halston will also be back as socialite Bitsy Von Muffling, who is as delightful as her name.
Of course, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are back as Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes, Carrie’s longtime BFFs.

And Just Like That... season 2's finale, "The Last Supper Part II," may signal the end of Carrie Bradshaw's story, as she sells her iconic Manhattan apartment and contemplates her past choices. This week’s episode of And Just Like That… picks up where we left off twenty years ago: Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw are in bed together in a fancy hotel. (No wonder she’s smiling so much).

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen this week’s episode of “And Just Like That…” proceed with caution.
And we couldn’t help but wonder, did Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) just alienate half the “Sex and the City” fanbase?
In the latest instalment of the Max spin-off series, “And Just Like That…” Carrie is deep into her love bubble with her ex-fiancé, Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). The two wake up in each other’s arms, twisted in sheets, bargaining over who has to close the blinds to keep that pesky sunshine from hitting them. It’s a nauseating scene that begs the question — does nobody have a job anymore? Doesn’t Aidan have three sons? Is Carrie just going to spend the rest of her life living off the funds of her late husband, Mr. Big (Chris Noth)?
And speaking of Mr. Big, the man is certainly rolling over in his Armani suit,...

After seven episodes into “And Just Like That” season 2, fans finally witnessed Aidan Shaw’s (John Corbett) anticipated return to the “Sex and the City” franchise.
Now that Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) beloved ex is back in the mix, fans are wondering what storyline will ensue given that Aidan “was Carrie’s best boyfriend” in the original series, said “Ajlt” writer, Samantha Irby, on the the show’s official “And Just Like That… The Writers Room” podcast. “He is the one who should have won… He and Carrie had such an insane chemistry, it was like jumping off the screen. They just looked so good and perfect.”
With that said, and the time that’s passed between them, the writers and showrunner, Michael Patrick King, decided to give Corbett “a makeover” to bring Aidan back in “a new way.”

If the title wasn’t any indication, Sex and the City largely focused on relationships, more specifically, the relationships of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon). By the time the series finished its run, each character had had their fair share of flings, short-term relationships, and partners that had stood the test of time and became just as pivotal to the show as the ladies themselves. Two of the most focused-on relationships of the show were that of Carrie and her two great loves, Mr. Big (Chris Noth) and Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). Which relationship you prefer is still a hot topic among fans of the show, some think Big was meant to be with Carrie, while others think her true match was Aidan. She, of course, ends up with Big, and their story continues with the two follow-up movies and the reboot series,...

Sarah Jessica Parker was “excited” when she first learned John Corbett’s Aidan Shaw would be returning to the world of “Sex and the City” on Max’s hit spin-off series “And Just Like That.”
“I was especially excited, probably in large part, because I just love working with John Corbett so much,” Parker told TheWrap in an interview conducted ahead of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. “We just think he is very special and brings so much more — always — than what’s even written.”
Parker, an executive producer on the series, first learned of Corbett’s return in a preseason meeting with “And Just Like That” showrunner and executive producer, Michael Patrick King. Typically, King would pitch Parker on what he wants to do three or four months before the writers meet. These meetings focused on storylines specific to her character Carrie, the season’s overall theme and other actors’ storylines.

Well, well, well, look who just strolled back into Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) life, wearing a jacket that proves he’s still a bad match for her. The buckled collar, the excess of buttons, the waist-snatching belt — it may be commonplace to wear such as an outdoorsman, but in New York City, Aidan Shaw’s (John Corbett) outfit is evidence that this schmuck’s fashion sense hasn’t changed since we first laid eyes on him 23 years ago while Carrie’s just keeps getting better. And if he can’t even muster up the energy to wear a more impressive coat for his reunion with the one that got away, what are the odds that he’s put the work into being a better man?...

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for “And Just Like That…” Season 2, Episode 7.]
The moment you’ve been craving, fearing, or both is finally here. Aidan Shaw, as played by John Corbett, is back in “Sex and the City” land thanks to “And Just Like That” Season 2. Episode 7 sees Carrie’s email to her ex-fiancé lead to a Valentine’s Day “date” — and it is, it turns out, a date. The former furniture-maker and out-of-work podcaster rekindle old flames after a momentary meeting-spot mix-up, before skedaddling to Carrie’s apartment for a quick spat and a longer kiss.
But as much as the “And Just Like That” writers would prefer we think less about Aidan & Carrie taking one more stab at love, we have… questions. A lot of questions. Like, too many questions for a sequence of scenes spanning no more than 10 minutes. So if you, dear readers, also have misgivings about what you just saw (and what may come next), IndieWire’s...

Spoiler alert! If you haven’t seen season 2, episode 7 of “And Just Like That”, proceed with caution.
We hold these truths to be self-evident — that Carrie Bradshaw doesn’t know how to quit a man and that Lily York Goldenblatt is the central villain in the “Sex and the City” franchise.
Thursday’s latest installment of the Max spinoff series, “And Just Like That”, featured the long-anticipated return of one Mr. Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) nervously shares that Aidan responded to her obvious booty email asking her out to dinner on Thursday, which just so happened to be Valentine’s Day. Of course, Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis) takes this information and runs with it with Carrie describing her pal as “Cupid on steroids.”

And Just Like That… season 2 will be more like the original Sex and the City, according to an HBO Max executive. A continuation of the long-running Sex and the City characters, And Just Like That debuted in December 2021. The project reunited Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis in their respective roles as Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte. But with the glaring omission of Kim Catrall as Samantha, along with a few other audience complaints, the reboot got off to a rough start. Some viewed it as an example of the diminishing returns of the Sex and the City brand.
In an interview with Variety, in which she discusses a wide range of programming, HBO Max head of originals Sarah Aubrey previewed And Just Like That season 2. Aubrey stressed that the upcoming episodes would be "very joyful" and reminiscent of classic Sex and the City episodes that fans enjoyed. She noted that Carrie,...

To many fans of Sex and the City, Aidan Shaw was Carrie Bradshaw's true love and the antithesis to her sociopathic suitor Mr. Big. With his funky turquoise jewelry and wealth-deflecting charm, the corn-fed carpenter was everything his callous competition was not. He was a broad shoulder for Carrie to cry on and wasn't afraid to share his own feelings as well.

But beneath his hulking sensitivity, Aidan could be manipulative and passive-aggressive when Carrie would have benefited from someone who was more direct. There's a case to be made for whether or not Aidan was an agent of toxic masculinity or an abused craftsman Carrie used to wipe her designer shoes on.

Over the course of six seasons, Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw dated — yeah, we’re using that term rather loosely — nearly three dozen guys. A pee-obsessed politician, an addled high school sweetheart, an aloof artist with a penchant for violence… the list is as varied and colorful as Carrie’s shoe closet. However, only two Manhattan men stand out as candidates for the fashion-forward writer’s one true love.
(No, Berger, you’re not one of them. We’re sorry. We can’t. Don’t hate us.)
The battle for Carrie’s heart ultimately came down to Aidan Shaw vs.
