Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s turn in Bullet Train has led to theories he’s going to play Bond next. But do actors who play Bond-like characters go on to actually play 007? We take a look.
At the time of writing, at least, there’s much speculation about Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his connection to the James Bond franchise. In March, a British newspaper with a big red masthead spread the rumour that the actor is secretly being lined up to play 007, taking over from Daniel Craig.
It’s a rumour so persistent that Taylor-Johnson has started to get a bit cross when ‘The Bond Question’ is brought up in interviews. When asked by an Associated Press reporter about the whole matter, Taylor-Johnson looked down at his feet, as though trying to repress some terrifying wellspring of anger, before abruptly marching off with a chirpy, “Alright, have a good one!”

Eighties television was a land of new ideas that hadn’t been seen before. It was also a place where old tropes were made shiny and new with a modern sheen that intrigued audiences and would produce classics like the hospital drama St. Elsewhere and the crime drama Hill Street Blues.
It would be a humdinger of a decade within the genre of mystery and detectives. It would see the return of the iconic detective Mike Hammer in a new series and would also bring us the dramedy Moonlighting. We’d also be treated to one of the greatest performances of Sherlock Holmes ever with the amazing Jeremy Brett.
It would also bring us a female detective who, in a world filled with male counterparts, couldn’t catch a break until she made up her own male counterpart in a boss named Remington Steele. The rest, as they say, is history,...

“Love, exciting and new. . . Love, life’s sweetest reward. . .” From 1977 to 1987, “The Love Boat” offered a new adventure each week, with couples finding romance aboard the cruise ship. The decade-long success of this series indicates the thirst audiences have for love stories. It was during this time that “will-they-or-won’t they” couples became a popular concept, leading to some of the most popular onscreen pairings of all time. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we look back at some of the couples who have heated up our screens over the last few decades.

If there’s a holy grail of awards opening monologues, it’s Judd Apatow’s at the DGA Awards.
In typical fashion, the filmmaker who is known for his killer Bill Cosby impersonation, took the mic for the fifth time to host the DGA Awards — with the opening monologue cut off to the press room. Don’t ask why that is in a post Trump era political environment.
Apatow won over the room with his jokes about how hasty the DGA came to an agreement with the AMPTP, M&As and how Byron Allen could be the ultimate buyer of all media companies, and SAG-AFTRA president as “the voice of reason” during the swamps of the strike.
“My agent said I should hold out for more money, but in the spirt of the DGA, I accepted their first offer!” ribbed the 40-Year Old Virgin director in reference to how fast...

Until the neither disappointing nor remarkable "Frasier" reboot, the beloved sitcom on which it was based had been off the air for almost 20 years. Running from 1993 to 2004, "Frasier" came to represent the gold standard for '90s sitcoms, alongside contemporary hits such as "Friends" and "Seinfeld." A big part of the show's success was that star Kelsey Grammer seemed to have been born to play the titular doctor, portraying his egoism and fastidiousness with the perfect balance of humor and earnestness. But the show was also propelled by a truly stellar supporting cast.
David Hyde Pierce might have thought the script for the "Frasier" pilot was "terrible" at first, but he very quickly realized how well-written the show was and throughout the show's run delivered a consistently brilliant performance as Frasier's equally stuffy brother, Niles. Alongside Peri Gilpin as Frasier's radio producer, Roz, John Mahoney as Frasier and Niles' father,...

Robert Butler, the Emmy-winning, go-to pilot director who helmed the first episodes of such acclaimed shows as Batman, Star Trek, Hill Street Blues and Moonlighting, died Nov. 3 in Los Angeles, his family announced. He was 95.
Butler also co-created the Pierce Brosnan-starring Remington Steele (and helmed its pilot, of course), directed the first episode of Hogan’s Heroes in 1965, and called the first shots and set the tone for, Glenn Gordon Caron’s Moonlighting, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Sisters and The Division.
In 1973, he directed the William Holden-starring The Blue Knight — the first four-hour television miniseries — at NBC and then got the CBS series adaptation of the Joseph Wambaugh novel that starred George Kennedy off on the right foot.

This month has been full of sad reports of celebrity passings… and unfortunately, today is no different. It has been brought to our attention that Lara Parker, best known for starring in the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows and the 1975 horror classic Race with the Devil, has passed away at the age of 84. Her daughter confirmed to Variety that she died in her sleep at her home in the Topanga Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles on October 12th.
If you’re not familiar with Parker’s work on Dark Shadows, Variety has the information: “From 1967 to 1971, the Memphis native starred in Dark Shadows as the central antagonist Angelique Bouchard. Set in the fictional setting of Collinsport, Maine, the series follows the town’s founding family, the Collins family. In the show, Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) spurns the besotted Angelique after a brief dalliance with her, unaware that she is a witch.

The '80s were a different time; shoulder pads were in, Reaganomics was taking over the country, and in 1984, a hyper-stylish show called "Miami Vice" was about to become all the rage. Before the Florida-set cop series ever premiered on NBC, though, it had already inspired another series, one that seemed to have very little in common with the Michael Mann-produced action show.
That series was "The Golden Girls," the popular and gut-bustingly funny sitcom about women of a certain age that has only become more beloved in the decades since it ended. "The Golden Girls" is remembered for its positive and honest conversations about aging and its characters' penchant for savage, hilarious quips. It also bolstered the fame of its already-famous stars, Bea Arthur ("Maude"), Betty White ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show"), Rue McClanahan (also "Maude"), and Estelle Getty ("Mask"). Summer’s beginning was marked with lots of festivals, charity galas and Spider-Man’s return to blockbuster season, as stars of all sorts soaked up the sun, from Napa to Hollywood to the Caribbean Sea and beyond. Keanu Reeves returned to his old rock-star status at BottleRock Napa, strapping on his bass with Dogstar after 20+ years (and Lizzo knocked everyone out at that posh music/food/wine/brew fest); meanwhile, Kaley Cuoco’s “Based on a True Story” brought its mysterious fun to L.A.’s Pacific Design Center and Chateau Marmont and Sir Richard Branson set sail on the Summit at Sea in the Bahamas.

Every once in a while, the first few frames of a film will capture you. It isn’t common, but certain ones – in any genre – ingratiate right out of the gate. Such is the case with Death Spa (1988); when lightning hits the ‘Starbody Health Spa’ leaving only the letters ‘Death Spa’ lit up within the first moments, I knew I was in for some fun. Anything that riffs on Motel Hell (1980)’s ‘Motel Hello’ sign can’t be all bad, you know? Death Spa is as high energy as its title implies, twice as goofy, and has more than enough plot for three films.
It was a weird time for horror; by the late ‘80s slashers couldn’t cut through a paper bag, so filmmakers sometimes turned to the supernatural for new thrills (or at least ones absent from the screen for a bit). Director Michael Fischa (My Mom's a Werewolf...

Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd had unbeatable chemistry on Moonlighting. In fact, their chemistry could be so volatile the show ultimately could not continue, although the success of Die Hard and other movie offers probably would’ve been an irresistible force for Willis regardless. At least there were five seasons of Moonlighting, all available on DVD and creator Glenn Gordon Caron is working on getting them available on streaming services. Until then, here are 10 other shows to capture the chemistry and comic mystery if you like Moonlighting.

Pierce Brosnan got his big break on Remington Steele playing a pseudo James Bond like character. Stephanie Zimbalist played a private investigator who invented the fictional partner Remington Steele because clients wouldn’t take a female detective seriously.

Henry Cavill’s Superman return was short-lived, with new DC head honcho James Gunn making the announcement himself via Twitter. This comes after weeks of speculation following a bombshell report that suggested Gunn and co-dc boss Peter Safran were shaking things up in a big way. That included dropping Wonder Woman 3. On Twitter, Gunn revealed that he himself is writing a Superman movie, albeit one with a different actor in the lead, saying it will be focusing on an earlier part of his life (but it will not be an origin tale).
Here are Gunn’s Tweets:
Among those on the slate is Superman. In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character will not be played by Henry Cavill.

Pierce Brosnan, like Dwayne Johnson, is making his debut in the superhero genre as the two co-star in this fall’s Black Adam. Brosnan found great success in franchise films starring as Ian Fleming’s 007 James Bond in four movies starting with 1995’s Goldeneye. That was his second chance at being Bond after his first chance was thwarted by his television series at the time, Remington Steele.
IndieWire now reports that playing Dr. Fate in Black Adam is, again, a second chance at playing a masked hero with a cape as Brosnan reveals he went out for Tim Burton’s Batman released back in 1989. Brosnan, while promoting Black Adam tells of his audition with the director,

Pierce Brosnan was James Bond before he was James Bond. As Remington Steele, the fictional creation of private investigator Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) for five seasons during the 1980s on NBC, Brosnan nailed the part of a debonair rake who could handle himself in a scrape and look downright spiffy doing it. One look at the actor in a tuxedo was all you needed. He'd just entered his thirties, and was everything fifty-plus-year-old Roger Moore, who'd huffed-and-puffed his way through "A View to a Kill," was not. He was the 007 heir apparent.
It was time for a change, and after a successful screen test, the Bond producers offered Brosnan the part. The timing was perfect: "Remington Steele" had been canceled due to declining ratings, which seemingly thrust the Irish actor into free agency. NBC, however, kiboshed the deal by exercising a 60-day option in Brosnan's contract, forcing him into an...

Conrad Janis, a prolific character actor of TV, film and stage who had already become immediately recognizable even before landing his signature role opposite Robin Williams and Pam Dawber in the hit ’70s sitcom Mork & Mindy, died March 1 in Los Angeles. He was 94.

Who doesn’t love a great TV duo? The Book of Boba Fett, the spinoff of Disney+’s The Mandalorian, continues the partnership between stoic bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) first seen in Season 2 of the flagship. “It’s like Remington Steele,” Morrison tells TV Insider, likening the characters’ bantering to the ’80s detective series starring a pre-James Bond Pierce Brosnan and Stephanie Zimbalist. Of course, this show being in the Star Wars universe, the chemistry won’t be exactly the same. “We go on a journey in itself and it’s an interesting one,” Morrison says. “I think it’s because of the fact that we were both almost buried in the sand and we could relate [to that], and I needed a confidante.” Morrison also reports tissues may be necessary for some scenes in the series — and got a tear in his eye talking about Boba’s journey.

“Brosnan Before Bond”
By Raymond Benson
In 1986, Pierce Brosnan almost became James Bond, nearly a decade before he actually did so. He had been cast to replace Roger Moore as the iconic 007, but at the last minute, NBC waved his contract for the television series Remington Steele at him, exercising the option to make another season. Brosnan was out, and Timothy Dalton was in.
And then… Remington Steele’s new season ended up consisting of only six episodes, finishing its run in early 1987. So, Brosnan had been baited and switched. Nevertheless, in the interim years between then and his appearance in GoldenEye (1995), the actor set about establishing himself as a leading man in feature films.
One of these early starring roles was in the 1988 production, The Deceivers, a British picture made by the elite Merchant Ivory Productions, and it was produced by Ismail Merchant himself.

“My Big Fat Greek Wedding” scored a domestic gross of $241 million in 2002; No. 2 on the list is “What Women Want” with $183 million. The film drew a SAG Awards nomination for outstanding performance by the cast of a theatrical motion picture.
As Roger Ebert recounted, Constantine’s Gus “specializes in finding the Greek root for any word (even ‘kimono’), and delivers a toast in which he explains that ‘Miller’ goes back to the Greek word for apple, and ‘Portokalos’ is based on the Greek word for oranges, and so, he concludes triumphantly, ‘In the end, we’re all fruits.’ ”

Plot: A crew of international do-gooders enlists the aid of a master thief, Richard Pace (Pierce Brosnan) to help them foil a notorious prison magnate (Tim Roth) with ties to international terrorism. After Roger Moore officially retired as James Bond 007 following the release of A View to a Kill, Eon productions had to find themselves a new 007. There were many contenders, including Sam Neill, and Pierce Brosnan was even hired to play the part, only to lose it when NBC opted to order more episodes of Remington Steele. Eon turned to a man who had apparently been their first choice all along, Timothy Dalton, whose James Bond would be a far gritter, more ground take on Ian Fleming's classic…...

2021 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Stuntmen’s Association.
Founded in 1961 by Loren Janes, a stunt double for Steve McQueen, and Richard Geary, a double for Robert Vaughn, the idea was to professionalize the world of stunts.
Janes and Geary wanted a space for stunt performers to speak with a single voice and share ideas and concerns. Soon, 50 stuntmen gathered and the Stuntmen’s Association was born.
Bob Herron, one of the charter members with over 342 credits to his name, joined Alex Daniels, president of the Stuntmen’s Association, Terry Leonard and Conrad Palmisano to celebrate 60 years of stunts, reflect on the impact of the association and discuss awards recognition.
Bob, you are a charter member of the Stuntmen’s Association. Take us back to why you started the association?
Bob Herron: I started it because there wasn’t a network for the stuntmen to organize with each other; we were all separate.

Pierce Brosnan was, quite literally, a nobody when he was cast for Remington Steele, but that changed quickly. The show became a hit and launched the career of its dashing leading man, who would later go on to become James Bond in four films. While it may now seem natural to see actor Daniel Craig play author Ian Fleming's 'James Bond' in the action feature "Casino Royale", it could have been an entirely different scenario, with actor Pierce Brosnan nearly returning to play the Brit secret agent again:
Although Brosnan, the former "Remington Steele" TV actor impressed in his debut 'Bond' outing "Goldeneye", there are mixed memories to Brosnan's overall stint as '007', with "Die Another Day", critically considered one of the worst 'Bond' movies in the franchise.
In fact, the critical reaction given to "Die Another Day" was so negative that it resulted in the franchise going back to the drawing board, with dog-faced Craig ("The Road To Perdition") cast as '007' to give the character a fresh start as a raw and grittier 'Bond'.
Now, with Craig as the current face of the franchise, 'James Bond' has reached even greater heights,...

Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we explore movies from established stars that flopped at the box office, have been forgotten by time, or remain hidden gems. These aren’t the films that made them famous or kept them famous. These are the other ones. Today, we talk Pierce Brosnan, Ireland’s first son. Per request from our lovely guest, The Film Stage Show’s own Michael Snydel, we dive into the actor’s immediate post-Bond filmography. More specifically, we talk Evelyn, The Matador, Seraphim Falls & Married Life.
First famous in the early ‘80s with starring roles in the television mini-series Manions of America & hit show Remington Steele, Brosnan built out a diverse resume into the ‘90s before winning the role as James Bond in 1995’s GoldenEye. The rest, as they say, is history.

Pierce Brosnan will celebrate his 66th birthday on May 16, 2019. The Irish actor initially came to the attention of American audiences for his television roles first in a popular miniseries called “The Manions of America” and then on the long running series “Remington Steele.” On that show Brosnan played a private detective with a comedic somewhat satirical spin on the legendary spy character James Bond.

It came as a bit of a surprise then that roughly 10 years after that series ended Brosnan would be cast to become the next James Bond in “GoldenEye.” Sean Connery had famously created the character on screen, and then Roger Moore took over the part for a long run. Timothy Dalton was cast as the next James Bond in the 1980s when Brosnan was unable to accept the role due to his contract with “Remington Steele.” Dalton...

The Son Season 2's Pierce Brosnan tips his ten-gallon hat to fellow Western stars and Texas TV icons in this exclusive interview.
Everyone wants to be remembered, and not just for the bad stuff they’ve done, a character admitted on the first season of The Son. In the Western genre of movies and film, cowboys have committed many memorable misdeeds, sometimes in order to rustle the deeds from rivals. The patriarch of AMC's multi-generational epic Western series The Son committed all these crimes and more to amass his fortune and stature. Born on the same day his state became a republic, “The First Son of Texas,” Eli McCullough came a long way on a hard road. Kidnapped by Comanches when he was a child, he was raised by the tribe in the wild and brought ruthless survival skills to his role as a businessman and pioneer frontiersman.

James Bond wielded the knife with obvious skill. He approached, blade barely glinting in the light, and pounced, the knife coming down to join the awaiting fork. "I usually eat fruit," he said simply, "but today I'm in the mood for a good English breakfast." And with that, he began his meal. Okay, so it's not stopping arch-nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld from triggering World War III, or preventing Auric Goldfinger from turning the gold in Fort Knox radioactive, but it was my experience with agent 007 back in 1994. At the time, I was Senior Editor at Cinescape and somehow we ended up with the rights to do the magazine on the making of the 17th James Bond movie — and the first one to star Pierce Brosnan — GoldenEye. Even more incredibly, I was the guy chosen to fly to England to spend a few days on the set at Leavesden Studios, later...

Don’t ask Jason Priestley about a “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot. For one thing, it has already been done: The second “90210” aired on The CW from 2008 to 2013. And although Priestley returned to direct, he wasn’t interested in reviving his character and appearing on camera.
“I couldn’t figure out a reason why Brandon would still be hanging around there,” Priestley told IndieWire’s Turn It On. “He left. I couldn’t figure out why.”
Priestley has worked on plenty of TV and film since the O.G. “90210,” including series like “Tru Calling,” “Call Me Fitz” and “Haven.” But he’s also now a prolific director, working on both comedies like “Working the Engels” but also sci-fi shows like “Van Helsing” and “Dark Matter.”
Now he’s back on TV as the star of “Private Eyes,” a fun, light hearted procedural mystery drama from Canada that has made its way across the border on Ion.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: What is the best will-they-won’t-they couple ever on TV? (Current and past shows are fair game.)
Eric Deggans (@deggans), NPR
This is tough. The will they or won’t they trope is so pervasive in television, picking a “best” is like looking for the shiniest grain of sand on a beach. The classic duos are obvious: Sam and Diane, David and Maddie, Carrie and Mr. Big, Ross and Rachel, Kermit and Miss Piggy. They’re the backbones of some of the best shows on television, but they’re also tremendously obvious and discussed to death. So my picks are going to be extremely personal and super specific.

As soon as I saw the trailer for the ABC new show Deception I thought of Castle. If you’ve ever watched that show it’s kind of impossible not to. This is not because Deception is “copying” Castle. I mean, let’s not get crazy about the Castle‘s “originality.” Deception is cut from the same procedural dramedy boilerplate that Castle, The Mentalist, Chuck, Bones, and Moonlighting stem from. That would be the 1982 through 1987 NBC show Remington Steele, which itself borrows from 1940’s screwball comedies. These successful shows had actors and writers who could make trope characters stand out as unique individuals. That’s

Hollywood studios occasionally have an uncanny knack of announcing almost identical film projects at the same time. In the 1980s, we had rival police dog movies K-9 and Turner And Hooch. The 90s saw the release of rival eruption movies (Dante's Peak and Volcano), opposing killer space rock pictures (Deep Impact and Armageddon) and duelling insect comedies (Antz and A Bug's Life). We provided a detailed run-down on these rival movies back in 2015.

Viewers tuning in to AMC's Pierce Brosnan vehicle The Son for blood and action may be left wanting. Here's our episode 1 review...
Warning: contains spoilers.
Loss builds resolve. At least that seems to be the main message in AMC’s latest drama The Son, in its debut episode. Opening in 1849 with a focus on a young Eli McCullough, the central protagonist who will grow into the fine form of a bearded Pierce Brosnan, we see him taking up mantle of ‘man of the house’, hunting and showing a large amount of self-assurance. However, it’s not long before his youthful belligerence, and a need to defend his home from invading Comanche, has resulted in his mother and sister being raped and killed, with his surviving brother soon being run through by a spear, leaving him as the sole surviving son.

The Old West is having a bit of a moment right now – from HBO’s incredible Westworld to the hotly anticipated film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, audiences can’t get enough Americana. Quietly slipping into the spring television schedule is AMC’s The Son, starring Pierce Brosnan in his first television role since Remington Steele ended in 1987. It’s quite a comeback for Brosnan, who to modern audiences is best known as Bond – or Meryl Streep’s boyfriend in Mamma Mia.
The Son fills the western void in AMC’s roster left by Hell on Wheels, which finished last summer, but unfortunately, it doesn’t have much in common with its predecessor. Whilst Hell on Wheels was praised for its emotion and nuance, as well as stellar cast performances and intriguing political commentary, The Son lacks such heart – and like Hell on Wheels,...

Let’s face it: Most horror made for TV isn’t really scary, is it? I mean, we talk about these shows or movies frightening us as kids, but we could say the same about watching a PG rated flick that contains a few good jolts or disturbing themes. The bottom line is a lot of things scare us as children, including real life. And every once in awhile, someone will come strutting along and boast of a TV movie from their youth that they insist is genuinely scary. And when they say genuine, they mean that it still casts a spell today, unvarnished by time. Well, having finally seen it for the first time, I can say that Don’t Go To Sleep (1982) fits the bill, offering up a few for real scares, a sense of unease, a clever teleplay, and an ending that’s still sticking to me like unwanted psychic residue.

Hot dispatch from the rumor mill - we were contacted by a source close to Doctor Strange with a character name for Mad Mikkelsen's character. I was hoping that it would be “Kaecilius,” because that is what I had been telling all of you for awhile and - Boom - that was the name that we got.
Who knows how on we were with the whole sub-atomic particles and general breakdown of how Doctor Strange plays out in the first and second acts, but knowing that Kaecilius and his followers show up in the film from this report and the trailer, I’m feeling pretty good about the direction Doctor Strange is moving in.
Of course, the new question is how much will this Kaecilius have in common with the comic book version of Kaecilius who is a disciple of Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character). Not a lot about Mordo has been officially revealed,...

Director Shane Black is busy promoting his new comedic crime drama The Nice Guys, even while he prepares for production on The Predator. Comic book aficionados will of course remember him as the director of Iron Man 3, though. During a recent interview with Uproxx, Black was asked about his experience on the film. He confessed that he regrets -- not so much the twist centered on Ben Kingsley's The Mandarin -- but the fans' reaction to it. Black was quite direct about some of the challenges of working on Iron Man 3 and within the framework of a big studio system, while still remaining highly complementary about the experience and Marvel Studios. One studio note struck us as particularly revealing and problematic. "We replaced a lot of things," Black told the outlet. "The plot went this way and that way. Stéphanie Szostak’s character was bigger at one point and we reduced it.

In the past we've heard about some rather stupid decisions by both Disney and Marvel in regards to toy manufacturing and their treatment of female characters. The lack of toys based on Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Daisy Ridley's Rey characters was met with outrage to the point that Disney had to issue them in 'second waves' and even then there seemed to be reluctance.
Now, filmmaker Shane Black has spoken about a similar problem on the creative side at Marvel and Disney which he encountered when he made "Iron Man 3" a few years ago. Speaking with Uproxx, he revealed some major script changes took place - one of which was the changing of the gender of the villain:
"We replaced a lot of things. The plot went this way and that way. Stephanie Szostak's character (an Extremis baddie) was bigger at one point and we reduced it.

It seems like Iron Man 3 has become a worse movie in the collective eyes of fandom in the years since it debuted, but I still love it and think it's one of Marvel Studios' strongest films. I know a lot of people got all riled up about the Mandarin and Ben Kingsley's Trevor Slattery, but I'm still of the opinion that the fan outcry about that was solely because the fanboys didn't like the experience of being tricked. (Did anyone really want to see an outdated, racist caricature of a villain face off against Iron Man? Really?) Now some information has come to light about the film's other villain: Killian, who was played by Guy Pearce, was originally going to be a woman, but the filmmakers received a note from on high about how that decision was unacceptable and had to be changed to sell more toys.

Shane Black reveals that Iron Man 3 would have had a female villain before a Marvel memo about toy sales forced a change...
Nb: The following contains spoilers for Iron Man 3 if you haven't seen it yet.
Marvel may make multi-million dollar movies, but huge budgets don't stop the studio from making creative, sometimes leftfield choices when it comes to filmmakers and actors. Case in point: Shane Black, the veteran Lethal Weapon screenwriter whose only film as director before Iron Man 3 was the sorely underrated comedy thriller, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Something clearly made Marvel's bosses - not least McU ringmaster Kevin Feige - think that Black was the right fit for the cynical, fast-talking Tony Stark, and while some fans weren't too happy with some plot revelations, Iron Man 3 provided the studio with yet another hit.
