The following post contains major spoilers for Blindspot‘s final season premiere. If you haven’t watched the episode yet, avert your eyes!
If TVLine polls could influence the fictional events of television shows, Blindspot‘s final season premiere would have come and gone without a single character death. Earlier this week, we asked you to guess which character on the NBC drama might perish in the first episode of Season 5, following a drone strike that could have killed Weller, Patterson, Reade and/or Zapata — and most of you didn’t think any characters would actually die.

After nearly a year off the air, Blindspot returns for its fifth and final season on Thursday (NBC, 9/8c) — but will all of the show’s core cast members come back with it?
In case you need a refresher, the Season 4 finale found Jane, Weller and the rest of the FBI team getting framed for a scheme called Project Helios, which had really been orchestrated by the season’s Big Bad, Madeline Burke. Shortly after the team found a remote cabin where they could hide from the authorities, Madeline ordered a drone strike on the location — and a missile hit the cabin while Reade,...

Much like Jane Doe’s tattoos, Blindspot isn’t going anywhere: The NBC drama has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
NBC isn’t confirming an episode count, but we’re hearing the final season will be abbreviated (i.e. 13 episodes or less).
The news of Blindspot‘s pickup might give fans a bit of whiplash, seeing as the show was recently pulled from NBC’s schedule for the duration of May Sweeps. It has temporarily been replaced in the Fridays-at-8 time slot by The Blacklist, but it will resume with the antepenultimate Season 4 episode on Friday, May...

Let’s hope Blindspot‘s Jane Doe isn’t claustrophobic. If this sneak peek at tonight’s episode is any indication, the walls will (very literally) be closing in around her.
The harrowing hour (NBC, 8/7c) picks up shortly after the events of the March 22 episode, in which Jane was knocked unconscious and dragged away by one of Madeline Burke’s associates.
In the exclusive video above, Jane comes to and quickly discovers she’s been buried underground, with no viable escape plan in sight. (That duffel bag in Times Square suddenly sounds pleasantly cozy!)
