The Irrational is a police procedural series created by Arika Mittman. The NBC crime thriller series follows the story of the world-renowned behavioral science professor Alec Mercer, who uses his unique expertise in psychology, body language, and emotional, and facial cues to solve the most twisted and high-stakes cases. In this, he is helped by his tech-savvy sister and his ex-wife, who is also an FBI agent.

In the Taliban-controlled Afghan city of Kabul, Nora Twomey’s debut film as sole director (she co-helmed Oscar nominee The Secret of Kells) depicts an eleven-year old girl facing the futility her future inevitably holds. Adapted by Anita Doron from the award-winning novel by Deborah Ellis, The Breadwinner delivers a heart-wrenching coming-of-age tale within a nation that’s lost its way. "The Martian"

Unfortunately, the poster on this one was misleading -- they never actually let us bring Matt Damon home after seeing the movie. (His wife would probably disapprove.) You can, however, take home Ridley Scott's acclaimed Mars mission movie "The Martian" on DVD and Blu-ray starting January 12. The Blu-ray editions include more than 90 minutes of special features, including five "in-world" pieces, and featurettes from the cast, director, and producers. There's also a gag reel, which should be fun.

Dr. Claire Adams (Jane Adams) explains the differences between relatively-harmless ghosts and malevolent entities known as poltergeists in a new clip from MGM's Poltergeist remake. This scene shows Claire consulting with the Bowen family, Eric (Sam Rockwell), Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt), Kendra (Saxon Sharbino) and Griffin (Kyle Catlett), explaining that ghosts are normally "harmless apparitions" but poltergeists are violent. The end of this clip shows Amy asking if its possible that this poltergeist could have taken their youngest daughter, Madi (Kennedi Clements).

The remake was produced by legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, The Evil Dead, The Grudge) and directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House). This new version is a contemporary take the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is haunted by evil forces. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and hold the youngest daughter captive, the family must come together to rescue her before she disappears forever.
