There are many things that DC Comics fans are longing for, but a third Injustice video game is definitely on that list. It's something we've been discussing since completing Injustice 2 and, with that having come out in 2017, it's been some time indeed.
With that in mind, let's do some more theorizing, this time about which characters could appear in Injustice 3 if it happens. To be honest, there are so many DC characters that haven't been used in the Injustice games that it would be impossible to list them all, so let's look at some of the ones that I want to see the most and the ones that fans have been clamoring over for years.
Magical characters
Let's begin by talking about the magical characters of the DC Universe, because most of them haven't received much attention in these games. While characters like Swamp Thing and Shazam were playable characters in the previous games,...

In 1941, DC Comics introduced the world to the Justice Society of America, the first superhero team in the history of the genre. Originally made up of Hourman, Sandman, Hawkman, Spectre, Doctor Fate, Atom, Jay Garrick, and Alan Scott, the team has expanded its membership many times. While some of these additions were temporary and far from mainstay Jsa members, those who have stuck around on the team have defined it for generations.
The Justice Society of America didn't just give DC its first team, it also housed some of the most enduring legacies in the company's history namely the Flash, Green Lantern, and the Atom. Though the team may not be the powerhouse that the Justice League is often depicted as, it does play a core role in the universe, both as mentors and heroes of the past and present. From their activities during World War II to the role they've played in recent events,...

Patrick J. Adams' role in Accused could allow him to be the bad guy Mike Ross never was in Suits. Adams plays Pete in Accused season 2, a potentially nefarious character in the crime drama. Accused takes twists and turns, so, Adams' character in the episode could be the guilty party.
After starring as Mike Ross in Suits for more than seven seasons, Patrick J. Adams is set to appear in a different drama TV show, and, hopefully, he will get the chance to play the type of character that Mike never could be. The USA Network series, created by Aaron Korsh, ran for nine seasons before ending in September 2019. Four years later, though, Suits had a resurgence when added to Netflix, resulting in a new spinoff, which Adams won't star in as a series regular. Nevertheless, Adams will continue his legal/crime drama career in Accused season 2 on Fox.

DC's Elseworlds stories offer a fresh take on iconic characters by placing them in period settings like Western, noir, fantasy, and political thriller genres. These stories allow artists to create retro designs for classic characters, rethinking superhero colors and stylings in suits of armor and gunslinger leather. With the return of Elseworlds as an official imprint, it's a great time to explore some of DC's best offerings and see superheroes face complex issues in different historical contexts.

The Sentry is often regarded as Marvel Comics’ version of Superman, but according to co-creator Paul Jenkins, the character actually started life as a pitch for another DC Comics hero.
Released in 2000, The Sentry was a Marvel Knights series by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee that told the story of a powerful superhero who had been forgotten by the rest of the Marvel Universe. Originally presented as a lost creation of Stan Lee from the 1960s, the series garnered controversy upon release, and is widely considered one of the greatest hoaxes in comic book history. Recently, co-creator Paul Jenkins spoke at the 2023 Dragon Con panel “Marvel’s Sentry: A Superhero Identity Crisis,” where the writer revealed that the Sentry originally began life as a pitch at DC Comics for an entirely different hero: Hourman.

With James Gunn and Peter Safran's new Dcu about to soft-reboot the universe, there's never been a better time to introduce the Justice Society of America. The Justice Society of America, or Jsa for short and sometimes just The Society, was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox during the Golden Age of Comics. They were the first team of superheroes in comic books and made their first appearance in All-Star Comics #3 by artist Everett E. Hibbard.
The team ceased publication in 1951 and, during the Silver Age, was replaced by the more popular Justice League as DC Comics' premiere superhero team. However, the Justice Society has endured, and in the comics were in a parallel Earth to the Justice League, with their annual crossovers being a major event. Previously a lesser-known DC character, Sandman has enjoyed plenty of live-action screen time in recent years. First appearing in Smallville, the character went on to have a cameo in DC's Legends of Tomorrow before being featured in a supporting capacity in Stargirl. An incarnation of the character also appears in the 2022 Netflix hit The Sandman.
Sandman also happens to be one of the first ever characters whom DC Comics introduced to readers. But who are the rest? Popular names such as Batman and Superman debuted early too, and so did a couple of other B-list heroes who haven’t been lucky enough to be featured regularly in live-action and animation.
The King (King Standish) - March 1940
Standish first appears in Flash Comics #3 in which he is shown fighting criminals. In future issues, he goes on a couple of missions with the Justice Society Of America too.

Chernin Entertainment is getting into the superhero movie business and producing an adaptation of the popular “Hourman” comic book for Warner Bros. and DC Films, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Writing duo Gavin James and Neil Widener are writing the script.
Originally created by Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily in 1940, “Hourman” had three different versions of that character. The first one centered on chemist Rex Tyler. Tyler is a master chemist and adrenaline junkie who, as Hourman, is a thrill-seeking superhero with the ability to manifest super-strength… for one hour a day. A founding member of the Justice Society of America, Rex/Hourman struggles with balancing his life as a hero and father.
“Suits” star Patrick Adams played a version of the character in a few episodes of The CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Exclusive: Warner Bros. and DC Films are developing an adaptation of the popular comic Hourman with Chernin Entertainment joining as producers. The adaptation is being penned by writing duo Gavin James and Neil Widener. This will mark the first time Chernin has developed a DC property.

Tyler would create a new synthesis, “Miraclo,” which grants him super-strength and endurance, but only for one hour. Rex’s son Rick Tyler would later become the hero, ultimately becoming the most popular Hourman as the years went on.

It was inevitable that “Crisis On Infinite Earths” was going to end with the multiverse restored, since it would be kind of hard to have any shows without any planets on which to set them. Several of the restored worlds were featured in a closing montage backed by a voiceover from Oliver (as the Spectre?) echoing the Monitor’s narration of the multiverse’s creation that opened the crossover.
First is Earth-Prime on which all the main Arrowverse shows now take place, formed from the merging of Earth-1, Supergirl’s Earth-38, and Black Lightning’s Earth that went unidentified, but going by the numbering conventions of many of the others it was probably either Earth-77 (for when the character debuted) or more likely Earth-218 (after the show’s premiere).
Earth-2, meanwhile, gave us a brief preview of the upcoming Stargirl series, showing its Justice Society of America.

The latest superhero adaptation is the upcoming Stargirl, based on the DC Comics character and coproduced by DC Universe and The CW. Stargirl might not be as familiar a name as some of the other heroes adapted for the small screen, so here's what you need to know about the new series before it launches in early 2020.
Like many superhero series, the premise of Stargirl kicks off with a young person discovering a world of superpowers that she never knew existed. In this case, that young hero-to-be is Courtney Whitmore (played by Brec Bassinger), a high-school sophomore who discovers that her new stepfather has a secret past as the sidekick to the superhero Starman. Courtney discovers a powerful "cosmic staff" that used to belong to Starman, and, in time, she inspires a mismatched group of young heroes to become the Justice Society of America and go up against the Injustice Society,...

Being a teenager has its fair share of challenges, but learning your parent was once a superhero sidekick is up there as the biggest.

Luke Wilson has boarded DC Universe series “Stargirl” as Stripe pilot Pat Dugan. Stripe, by the way, is a 15-foot robot created by the mechanic-turned-superhero.

Amazon’s Sneaky Pete will return for more scheming and conning for a third season in May.
Sneaky Pete Season 3 is officially coming to Amazon Prime. Bringing up the rear of The CW’s four-pronged superhero series slate, Legends of Tomorrow this Thursday not only delivered one of its strongest episodes ever, it bested the most recent adventures of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl.

This week saw the television debut of The Justice Society of America. A lesser known part of the DC Universe, Jsa debuted in All-Star Comics #3 in 1940. With initial success because of the popularity from World War II Jsa survived for ten years but then was cancelled and the focus switched to Justice League. Ever since then Jsa has only seen a small amount of success in comics with a majority of its founding members being replaced with more popular known characters.
This week’s episode saw the Legends go back in time to save The Justice Society of America. A rag tag group made up of a thief, assassin, professor, mechanic, engineer, and historian trying to save a team of superheroes that stopped the Nazi’s seem like a stretch. We're already one member short on the Justice Society of America and we just met them!
Eobard Thawne left his dirty fingerprints all over DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 2, as he was in search of some giant bauble that was originally in the possession of the Nazis.
For reasons unknown, he was unable to flash in and out and get it himself, but instead flashed into Jsa headquarters, threatened and killed Rex Tyler aka Hourman, took the bauble and left.
Huh?
Sometimes things on this show just don't make a lot of sense. There aren't a lot of things that would appear to be off limits for Reverse Flash, so must've just wanted to kill Hourman. Ok.
I still wait around hoping for a hint of the guy we knew for the entirety of The Flash Season 1, but he's gone. It's as if they're two completely different characters, Reverse Flash pre- and post-reveal.

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you have not watched Thursday’s episode of “Legends of Tomorrow,” titled “The Justice Society of America”) “Legends of Tomorrow” has revealed exactly what happened to Rex Tyler, a.k.a. Hourman (Patrick J. Adams), in the Season 1 finale. It turns out, he was blinking out of the timeline because back in his own time period of 1942, he has died at the hands of the Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher). “When we introduced Hourman, we actually had a bunch of different potential scenarios,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim told reporters following a screening of the episode,...

Warning: The following contains spoilers from Thursday’s Legends of Tomorrow
The Justice Society of America is down one team member, as of this week’s Legends of Tomorrow.
During the episode’s closing minutes, Reverse-Flash stole an artifact of value to Hitler from Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) and then killed the hero. Just before he took his last breath, the Jsa icon delivered one final message to his friend Vixen (new series regular Maisie Richardson-Sellers), which will give her reason to be suspicious of the Waverider’s time-hopping crew.

While the Legends of Tomorrow probably won't be going back to 1942 any time soon, it won't necessarily be the last time we see the Justice Society of America on the CW. For starters, we already know that Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) is joining the team. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim says we'll find out how that happens immediately in next week's episode. "I think you have a clue to it in Rex's final words to her," he teases. "I think, if you're Vixen and you've got Rex Tyler dying in your arms and you hear the words 'time traveler,' who would you think is responsible?" Plus, there's also the option to meet older versions of the Jsa members....

After the big season 1 cliffhanger with Rex Tyler, Legends of Tomorrow put the introduction of the Justice Society of America on hold. Season 2 did not pick up exactly where we left the show but fast-forwarded a bit and set up the new villains, the Legion of Doom, and the central mystery of the season, the disappearance of Rip Hunter. We episode 2, we properly meet the "Justice Society of America." Vixen, Obsidian, Hourman, Stargirl, Dr. Mid-Nite and Commander Steel are on the show and they are kind of awesome.

Despite the rocky first season, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is going full steam ahead with an all-new adventure, an all new goal, and an all new paradigm. With the Time Masters now gone, the Legends find themselves at the center of history. The cast has dwindled down to a core six, and with this group now in place, it seems like the show can start heading in the direction in needs in order to be a long-lasting entity.
We've already seen a full trailer for Season 2, but as the premiere date approaches, we'll undoubtedly see a heck of a lot more before it finally hits the network.

With a very young-ish Hourman appearing in the season one finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, comic book fans were unsure whether he hailed from present day or the past. However, it has now been confirmed that Rex Tyler and his Justice Society of America teammates hail from the 1940s. This coincides with the teams formation in All Star Comics #3, which debuted in 1940. The Jsa hold the disctinction of being the first group of superheroes to form a team in comic books. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Brandon Routh told the site, "Well we’re going back to the ’40s, for the Jsa. That’s where we meet the Jsa. And I think we’ll spend a fair bit of time there, in different countries within the 1940s. It’s the focus of the first couple episodes. And there’s a couple times we go way back. I actually...

While Warner Bros. was busy debuting their big screen superheroes, their small screen counterparts were also making a splash at San Diego Comic-Con. Check out the newest footage from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Gotham and more. Dctv is a big group that came out in force at Comic-Con this weekend. They also had panels and excited fans with various clips and trailers. Most of these include older footage because none of the series are that far into production for their new seasons yet (Supergirl hasn't started at all, in fact) but there is some very cool stuff going on. Arrow heads into its fifth season a few team members short, hence Team Arrow 2.0 is created including Evelyn Sharp (the returning Madison McLaughlin) and Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) who will all have to go up against the villain Prometheus. There was big news out of San Diego Comic Con today with regard to DC's Legends of Tomorrow!!
Not only will more members of the Justice Society of America be introduced, but Matt Letscher aka the Reverse-Flash will be joining the show as a series regular!!
Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman are both expected to be integral, recurring characters to the second season, as well.
Another recurring character? Neal McDonough, none other than Arrow's Damien Dahrk.
We've seen Dahrk in the past on Legends, but never the present.
What the heck is going on, you ask? Good question.
This will become the first-ever Legion of Doom on television.
"For season two of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV's first-ever team of Super Heroes would be TV's first-ever team of Super-Villains, recruited from the ranks of Arrow and The Flash's deadliest adversaries," Legends boss Marc Guggenheim said.

Justice Society of America! Who do you think we'll see?! pic.twitter.com/W8ddveKI4U — Caity Lotz (@caitylotz) July 20, 2016 Ahead of Saturday's Sdcc panel for DC's Legends of Tomorrow, White Canary actress Caity Lotz took to Twitter to reveal that the Jsa will appear in the show's second season. We already know Rex Tyler aka Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) will appear, along with Dr. Nate Heywood aka Citizen Steel (Nick Zano). We'll also see an early ancestor of Mari McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke), Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) weilding that Tantu Totem. But who else will appear? Could John Wesley Shipp's Jay Garrick be a member? Depending on what time period (and what dimension) the team is operating in, we might also see past versions of Hawkman (Falk Hentschel ) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée ). Who do you want to see on the Jsa? The second season premieres Thursday, October 13 on The CW.

Maisie Richardson-Sellers ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens") will play Amaya Jiwe, the grandmother of Megalyn Echikunwoke's Mari McCabe, on the second season of the time-traveling superhero series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" for The CW.
Echikunwoke played McCabe, aka. Vixen, in "Arrow" last season. It appears Jiwe's chracter will have the same animal powers and will also fight for good under the Vixen name.
The closing minutes of the DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" season one finale setup next year with the appearance of Rex Tyler (the superhero Hourman), a member of the Justice Society of America, who was sent back in time by Dominic Purcell's Heat Wave.
Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, Chris Fedak and Sarah Schechter will executive produce.

While people had various issues with The CW's "DC Legends of Tomorrow," one of the more common complaints was the disappointing villain Vandal Savage. The actor's performance aside, much of the setup of the character took place in the "Arrow"/"Flash" crossover earlier that season.
As a result, we went into the series knowing perhaps too much about him. That won't happen with the next season as the show's executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells EW they intend to have more of a mystery surrounding who the antagonists of the second season are:
"Unlike season 1 of Legends, where we basically had the big bad introduced in the crossover, what we're going to do in season 2 of Legends will be more similar to what you've experienced in the first three seasons of Arrow or the first two seasons of Flash, where it's more of a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Season 1, Episode 16: “Legendary”
Story by: Greg Berlanti & Chris Fedak
Teleplay by: Phil Klemmer & Marc Guggenheim
Directed by: Dermott Downs
Airs Thursdays at 7pm Et on The CW
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow ends its first season on a deft, compelling cliffhanger that opens a number of possibilities. The finale itself, as per usual for the show, does a few things well and almost everything else poorly. The primary thing it does do well is jettison the three weakest characters (whom I have been vocally requesting killed off for most of the show’s run), namely: Savage, Kendra, and Carter.
Yet even that comes with a caveat, because after an initial mishandling of Kendra’s character early in the season from the writers, and uncomfortable acting from Ciara Renee, the show gradually but very thoroughly turned Kendra around and made her a well-rounded, interesting, sweet and empowered character,...

Legends Of Tomorrow ended its first season with a big ol’ hint of things to come. With spoilers, here’s what it meant...
This article contains spoilers for Legends Of Tomorrow’s season 1 finale, as well as revealing Zoom from The Flash’s secret identity.
Vandal Savage is dead; murdered at three different points in time. (Even some serious ashes-tampering by Malcolm Merlyn surely couldn’t undo that... could it?) But the story of Rip Hunter and The Waverider crew - now sans Kendra and Carter - is far from finished.
Legends Of Tomorrow will return for a second season as part of The CW’s fall 2016-2017 line up. As such, season 1 ended with a standard-issue tease of things to come. Shortly after Dominic Purcell’s Mick mentioned being hungry for chicken and the gang began wandering away, another Waverider crash landed from the sky in a big puff of smoke.
