Tom Morello has tapped Phantogram for a new song, “Driving to Texas,” from his upcoming album, The Atlas Underground Fire, out October 15th via Mom + Pop.
“Driving to Texas” is a sprawling piece that builds from swooning verses filled with atmospheric synths, strings, and piano into a booming chorus driven by Morello’s keening guitar. “Believe, believe what I say,” sings Phantogram’s Sarah Barthel. “I’m driving to Texas/And now isn’t the time/You’ll break this transfixion.”

In celebrity relationship news we didn't see coming, Nina Dobrev and Shaun White might be dating.
Social distancing has been putting relationships to the test, but what about individuals who went on dates shortly before the lockdown? Do you isolate together, à la The Bachelor's Peter Weber and Kelley Flanagan? Or is it more realistic to reconnect once it's safe to step outside again? From the looks of social media, it looks like Nina and Shaun are sticking it out together.
The Vampire Diaries actor and Olympic snowboarder were spotted biking along the trails in Malibu in March, and Shaun was also photographed leaving Nina's home. In addition, Nina's Instagram has hinted that the couple has chosen to spend this period of time together. Inspired by Dakota Johnson's cleaning groceries how-to guide on Instagram, Nina took to her own account to share her safety tricks as well. In her video,...

Phantogram have release a new one-off single, “In a Spiral.” The upbeat song marries a rock beat with a buoyant synth melody as singer and multi-instrumentalist Sarah Barthel howls, “I can see the end is coming round/ Every day, every day, in a spiral/ Better help me now, I’m going down/ Every day, every day, in a spiral.”
“‘In a Spiral’ started from a beat that Josh had in his back pocket for quite some time, which I had gravitated to immediately and written some vocal ideas for,” Barthel said in a statement.

Electro-pop duo Phantogram balance sorrow and hope on their new song, “Into Happiness.” The track boasts a big beat of shuffling drums, which hold down a mix of synths that teeter towards dark wave but are ultimately buoyed by a particularly bright riff and Sarah Barthel’s vocals. “Fall into happiness,” she sings,” Wish you could be here/No more loneliness/You make it perfect.”
In a statement, Phantogram said “Into Happiness” “embodies the personal journey that both of us have taken since we released Three; it’s been a long path,...

Olympic snowboarding legend Shaun White got all romantic with his girlfriend, Sarah Barthel, over the weekend ... taking a stroll on a beach in Los Angeles. White and Barthel have been together for about 5 years after meeting behind the scenes of "Saturday Night Live." 35-year-old Barthel is a rocker -- she's one half of the band Phantogram, which is about to kick off a cross-country tour of the United States. She also looks damn good in a bikini.

Snowboarder Shaun White may be dominating at the 2018 Winter Olympics, but his rocker girlfriend, Sarah Barthel, has some star power of her own.
White, 31, and Barthel, 34, have been dating for about five years after first meeting backstage at Saturday Night Live. He was in New York City apartment-hunting at the time and Barthel, a native of upstate New York, was living in Brooklyn, he previously told People.
White said he and Barthel “just bumped backstage and became friends, and then over time it kind of turned into something.” The pair now live together in the Los Angeles area.

Shaun White on His Fourth Upcoming Olympics: 'I'm Having More Fun Riding Than I Have in a Long Time'
It came as no surprise that even when two-time gold medalist Shaun White’s snowboard hit the top of a halfpipe while he was doing a double cork 1440 on the slopes in New Zealand in October, leaving him injured and needing 62 stitches, he was still able to get up, hold his face and ride down the rest of the half pipe.
Despite the recovery time — both physically and mentally — he’s been able put that injury in the past and look ahead to the PyeongChang Games, where he makes his 2018 debut Tuesday morning in South Korea (Monday evening stateside) in the halfpipe semi-finals.

Shaun White is enjoying his downtime as he continues his quest for a third Olympic gold medal.
The Olympic snowboarder — who is in Pyeongchang, South Korea, for his fourth Winter Games — made the most of his day off from competition as he sat back and watched his teammates represent their country.
“Sitting here on my day off watching @teamusa crush it!” White, 31, wrote alongside the snap, which showed him sitting by a window overlooking some Olympic facilities.
But don’t worry, even though he may be enjoying his time off, White’s still focused on his quest to make it back onto the podium,...

Saturday Night Live, a bad rental house, a mean dog and East Los Angeles: That’s the simplest way to start the story of Shaun White’s relationship with rocker Sarah Barthel.
The Olympic snowboarder and two-time gold medalist, who is in Pyeongchang, South Korea, for his fourth Winter Games, sat down with People this week ahead of his competition. During the chat, he opened up about his connection with Barthel, 34, who is one half of the electro-rock band Phantogram.
