Universal Pictures and director Jon M. Chu's Wicked sequel, which was recently re-titled Wicked: For Good, is set to take flight this November, and on the clicked heels of the first official poster, the studio has released a (very) brief teaser.

There's nothing very revealing in the video, which simply shows some glass cracking in the foundation of The Wizard of Oz's Royal Palace before setting a reminder that the sequel will be with us six months from now.

The first movie concluded with a rift starting to form between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), as Oz (Jeff Goldblum) and the duplicitous Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) begin to propagandize against "The Wicked Witch of the West."

Elizabeth Gillies and Ariana Grande are supporting each other long after their days on Victorious.

Elizabeth, 31, is currently starring in the off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors alongside Milo Manheim, 24. In late April, Elizabeth took to Instagram to share snapshots of Ariana visiting the show backstage with her boyfriend Ethan Slater.

“Thank You For Coming To The Shop, My Dingus!!,” she captioned photos of her and Ariana holding up small plants.

Following the magical moment of Wicked: Part One enchanting audiences ahead of Thanksgiving, a return to the land of Oz will take place in 2025 when the second film in the duology comes out.

Those anxious to see how the story of Ariana Grande’s Glinda and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked Witch of the West, formerly known as Elphaba, have a little under a year before the second half of the story will arrive in theaters. The film underwent a title change in December 2024 to Wicked: For Good.

Of course, dynamic duo Glinda (Ariana Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) will return in the second film, though they may be more separated than in the first film.

And that's a wrap on Elsbeth Season 2. Last night, the curtains came down on the second installment of the quirky police procedural series. It was an emotional season finale as the final moments saw the cast bid farewell to one of their own at the precinct. With toasts and heartfelt speeches, the team said goodbye to Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson), who in the penultimate episode learned of her surprise promotion to detective from Captain Wagner (Wendell Pierce). Kaya is departing the NYPD for Washington, DC, for a new challenge that will see her undertake several undercover assignments. Thankfully, audiences will get an occasional glimpse of her new chapter as she'll continue to feature in the show as a recurring guest in Season 3.

The Season 2 finale, "Ramen Holiday," opens with Elsbeth (Carrie Preston) behind bars, where she reunites with a number of the criminals she helped put away in previous seasons.

Elsbeth star and executive producer Carrie Preston opens up about the police procedural's first cast change. It is usually in a season's last installment that significant changes happen. But, in the case of the popular CBS show, the Elsbeth season 2 finale served as an epilogue for departing cast member Carra Patterson. The actor, who plays Officer Kaya Blanke, will recur in season 3 after her character receives a big promotion in the penultimate episode.

In a post-finale interview with Deadline, Preston responded to Patterson's departure ahead of the already-confirmed season 3. The Emmy winner talked about the fact that Kaya is leaving after achieving a big dream. She mentions how, because of the procedural structure, Elsbeth doesn't work with the same detective every week. Still, in the quote below, Preston underlines that viewers will see Patterson again:

That was certainly, uh, an episode of Elsbeth. What exactly did we just watch? A lot was happening, but none of it made much sense.

I’m starting to think this series takes place in an alternate reality because sometimes the dots just don’t connect.

Honestly, the character of Elsbeth must be psychic because there was barely any reason for her to suspect the murderer. Sure, Miss Tascioni is an excellent sleuth, but she isn’t Theresa Caputo.

There was virtually no reason for the character to investigate the killer. While she was right on the money, the plotting wasn’t there.

That said, the real crime on this episode was the price of coffins. Two hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars for an “eco-friendly” coffin? Burn me up, put me in little matchboxes, and hand me out to my loved ones.

Just before Wicked actor Marissa Bode accepted her honor as this year’s recipient of the ReelAbilities Film Festival’s Spotlight Award on Thursday night, her Oscar-nominated co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo made a surprise video appearance.

In a taped message, the duo celebrated Bode’s historic performance and her dedication to disability inclusion as the first authentically cast disabled performer to play Nessarose — Elphaba’s (Erivo) sister and a character who uses a wheelchair — in the Wicked musical’s 20-plus years. “Marissa took the role of Nessarose to new heights and brought authenticity to the role like never before,” Erivo said in the prerecorded video.

CinemaCon audiences have been changed for good today. During Universal’s presentation at the annual event, attendees caught their first glimpse at the second half of the story that captivated theatergoers at the very end of last year. Aptly dubbed Wicked: For Good (a nod to one of the tunes in the musical’s second act), the next and final chapter in the story sings, dances, and defies gravity on its way into cinemas on November 21. Those who are already familiar with the musical or the book on which the film is based have a good idea of what’s coming next, but there are plenty of magical moments around the corner, with the Jon M. Chu-helmed movie adding some bits and pieces that weren’t in the original story.

More than a year old at this point, Eternal Sunshine has solidified itself as an evolutionary step in Ariana Grande’s career. Not only did the album produce two No. 1 hits — "Yes, And?" and "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" — and amassed more than 4 billion Spotify streams, but it’s perhaps Grande’s most confessional, being largely inspired by tumultuous times in her personal life and public persona as a whole. Eternal Sunshine had a largely positive reception, including a combined score of 84 on Metacritic. On Friday, Grande, now a huge movie star and Oscar nominee thanks to Wicked, broke the internet by dropping Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, a reconfigured version of the album featuring nine bonus tracks (including six new songs), alongside a short film.

Grande is credited as the sole lyricist of all new tracks, giving Brighter Days Ahead an even more confessional, introspective tone.

The Wicked Broadway musical premiered in 2003, and it was a massive success, later taking over the stage in different theaters across the world. An adaptation had been in the works for a decade before Jon M. Chu premiered 2024's Wicked, an adaptation of the musical which he split into two parts.

Wicked was a massive commercial and critical success, becoming the fifth highest-grossing film of the year with over $700 million worldwide, and receiving 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Picture. The movie won two of its ten nominations, and it became a huge draw not only for theater kids, but people around the world. The story will continue Elphaba and Glinda's story with a new installment. Although the press tor for the sequel, titled Wicked: For Good, hasn't begun yet, the first poster is out, as shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, as X account CinePop revealed.

Ariana Grande has released one of her most emotional ballads ever.

The Grammy winner dropped the new song “Hampstead” on her album Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead and it’s going to bring you to tears.

Ariana seemingly sings about finding love again with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater while living in the Hampstead neighborhood of London during filming.

“I was in Hampstead when I was here, and I loved my walks on the Heath,” she told Radio 1. “I loved meandering around and visiting different shops and places and pubs.”

Ariana seems to address the allegations of cheating that she and Ethan faced when their romance started soon after their divorces went public.

“I left my heart at a pub in Hampstead / And I misplaced my mind in a good way / Threw away my reputation but saved us more heartache,” she sings.

Director Jon M. Chu is clearing the air regarding rumors of potential leads for his upcoming Britney Spears biopic. Chu was set to helm the forthcoming feature after Universal Pictures acquired the rights to Spears' New York Times bestseller The Woman in Me last year. Chu, the talented filmmaker behind Wicked and its upcoming sequel, has shut down speculation of who will lead the film as the Pop Princess. Most recently, he took to X to dispel rumors-among the most mentioned potential stars to take the lead are Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Millie Bobby Brown.

Wicked has soared on its streaming debut, flying straight to the top of the Peacock movie chart and bringing its magical, musical story of the witches of Oz to a new audience.
