Zig Zag, UK Producer Behind ‘I Wanna Marry Harry’ & ‘Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men,’ Declared Insolvent
Exclusive: Zig Zag, the 25-year-old UK producer behind shows including Fox’s I Wanna Marry Harry, is shutting its production arm after being hit by the unscripted commissioning drought.
Zig Zag is putting Zig Zag Productions Limited into insolvency as part of a financial restructuring that has resulted in six employees being made redundant.
The company, founded in 1999 by Danny Fenton, has appointed an administrator following a meeting with creditors on Wednesday. The insolvency company will be announced shortly.
Deadline understands that Zig Zag had three shows greenlit last year, worth as much as £4.5M ($5.6M), but the series were delayed indefinitely amid uncertain market conditions.
Zig Zag’s other companies, including Zig Zag Holdings and Zig Zag Media Rights, will continue trading, meaning it is not inconceivable that the brand will live on if commissions come to fruition.
Zig Zag is not currently in production so no shows are at risk.

South Korean No. 1 Soonwoo Kwon is likely to postpone his tennis career in favour of serving mandatory military service back home in the future.
All South Korean men must serve military service due to the country's specific history, which technically still has them 'at war' with their Northern neighbours. Military service usually lasts 18 months but can extend to 21 months if the person in question serves as a public service worker.
There are exemptions, for example, if you're a distinguished athlete who wins a medal for the country. Notable examples include Heung Min Son, who only served for three weeks to continue his exceptional football career.
That won't be the case for Soonwoo Kwon, who last competed at the Asian Games and shocked the tennis world with very unsportsmanlike conduct . He refused to shake his opponent's hands after losing but apologized not long after that, and we kind of know now why he reacted that emotionally.

London, April 28 (Ians) Manchester City can go to the top of the Premier League, albeit for just over 48 hours when they visit Fulham on Sunday afternoon, while league leader Arsenal doesn’t play Chelsea until Tuesday evening.
City produced one of the best displays of the season to beat Arsenal in a game that most consider to be a title decider on Wednesday night, with Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland running riot against a rival that was a yard slower in key moments.
The 4-1 win didn’t flatter Pep Guardiola’s side, but it will count for little unless they are able to take three points from their visit to play Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Guardiola played a more direct football against Arsenal, using Haaland’s power to control long passes, but could return to their more common passing game against a rival likely to sit much deeper than Arsenal did,...

London, April 28 (Ians) Newcastle United solidified their position for a top-four finish in the Premier League while Tottenham Hotspur staged a comeback to draw 2-2 at home against Manchester United in the latest action in the top-flight English league.
Newcastle registered a convincing 4-1 win away at Everton on Thursday night, which was never in question after Callum Wilson put them ahead in the 28th minute.
Everton’s main issue this season has been a lack of goals, and despite 13 shots at the goal, they failed to find the net until Joelinton and Wilson’s second of the game put Newcastle 3-0 up in the second half, reports Xinhua.
Dwight McNeil’s goal in the 80th minute gave Everton hope, but it only lasted for a minute before Jacob Murphy added Newcastle’s fourth, leaving Everton second from the bottom ahead of Monday’s crucial game away at Leicester City.

London, April 16 (Ians) Manchester City put the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with a comfortable 3-1 win at home to Leicester City on Saturday evening.
Although Leicester appointed Dean Smith as coach until the end of the season, the new man in the dugout could only watch as City raced into a 3-0 lead, with John Stones lashing home a volley in the 5th minute, reports Xinhua.
Erling Haaland converted a penalty, given for handball in the 13th minute and the striker netted his 47th goal of the season with just 25 minutes on the clock, thanks to a simple finish after a Kevin de Bruyne assist.

London, March 6 (Ians) Chelsea coach Graham Potter faces a crucial 90 minutes when his side entertains Dortmund in their Round of 16 second-leg match in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

London, Jan 30 (Ians) An injury-time goal from Brighton forward Kaoru Mitoma ended Liverpool’s campaign in this season’s Fa Cup as they were beaten 2-1 away to the south-coast outfit.
The winger scored after a magnificent control to take Brighton into the last 16 and leave Liverpool’s season hanging by a thread, reports Xinhua news agency.
Although Liverpool improved from their 3-0 defeat in the same ground just 15 days ago and even took the lead through Harvey Elliot’s 30th-minute goal, Brighton were level just nine minutes later when Lewis Dunk deflected a shot into the Liverpool goal.

Doha (Qatar), Dec 3 (Ians) South Korea captain Son Heung-min admitted that waiting for the result of the match between Ghana and Uruguay was the longest six minutes of his life.
South Korea’s thrilling 2-1 win over Portugal on Friday booked their place in the knockout stage, but after the final whistle, the South Korean players still faced a nerve-wracking wait before they could celebrate.
The second half of their game kicked off around six minutes before the match between Ghana and Uruguay.

“It was the longest six minutes of my life,” admitted Son, who set up the winning goal with a run and pass to Hwang Hee-chan.

Cameroon, who are seeking their first victory at the World Cup since 2002, are hoping to rebound from a 1-0 loss to Switzerland in their opening encounter. Manager Rigobert Song will be wanting more from Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who struggled against the Swiss.

Doha (Qatar), Nov 27 (Ians) South Korea coach Paulo Bento has admitted he is frustrated at the loss of experienced defender Kim Min-Jae through injury during his side’s 0-0 draw against Uruguay. Kim won’t be available for their vital game in FIFA World Cup against Ghana on Monday night.
Bento admitted that Kim was an important loss as he brings a lot of experience to his side. “He has played every game in the Champions League for Napoli,” he said.
The injury to the defender means that South Korea found it more difficult to play the ball out of defense against Uruguay and as such, they dropped deeper against the South Americans.
Bento has come in for criticism for that tactic back in South Korea, but in fairness, as well as losing Kim Min-Jae, Bento’s plans were also hampered by Heung Min-Son’s lack of match fitness.

Doha (Qatar), Nov 24 (Ians) Spain’s 7-0 win over Costa Rica is one of the biggest wins in the recent World Cup finals and given the way that teams from what were traditionally not considered footballing nations have improved drastically in recent years, wins such as Spain’s are getting rarer and rarer.
The increasing number of players from Asia and Africa now playing in European leagues and the money invested in their domestic competitions means sides are now much better prepared, both physically and tactically.
However, that wasn’t always the case, as a look back at some of the biggest historical results in the World Cup finals shows.
The heaviest-ever defeat in the World Cup finals came in Spain in 1982 when Hungary defeated El Salvador 10-1 in their opening group game, with four of the goals coming in 11 chaotic second-half minutes as El Salvador fell apart.

Watched by a vibrant crowd at the Education City Stadium both teams had plenty of attacking quality on show but nothing could separate the two at the end of the 90-minute and had to settle for a point each in the group which consists of Ghana and Portugal.
Thursday’s result leaves both sides’ chances of reaching the last 16 wide open, as Uruguay prepare to face Portugal next, while South Korea meet Ghana.
Uruguay were unlucky twice in the match, first with a minute to go for the first half when Diego Godin’s header hit the post.
The metal work came between Uruguay and a goal again in the final minute of normal time when a long ranger flew past Kim Seunggyu in the Korean goal and rattled the post but did not end in the back of the nets much to the disappointment of the Uruguay fans.

Al Rayyan (Qatar), Nov 24 (Ians) Uruguay and South Korea played out a goalless draw in their Group H opener in the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Education City Stadium here on Thursday.
The South American side started with Darwin Nunez lined up alongside prolific forward Luis Suarez, while Heung-Min Son was fit enough to start for South Korea after his recently fractured eye socket. But none of them could find the breakthrough despite a lively encounter in Qatar.
The draw leaves both sides’ chances of reaching the last 16 wide open, as Uruguay prepare to face Portugal next, while South Korea meet Ghana.
The first half ended without a score with Uruguay guilty of wasting many opportunities. However, South Korea got the best chance in the 34th minute as Moon-Hwan Kim found Ui-Jo Hwang in space in the box, but he could only fire over the crossbar.

Doha, Nov 16 (Ians) With the 2022 FIFA World Cup approaching, the participating teams are all fine-tuning their preparations for the quadrennial gala.
The star-studded Portugal led by Cristiano Ronaldo are the favourites in Group H, but it is by no means a one-horse race, as Uruguay, South Korea and Ghana will all have what it takes to make the competition wide open.
Portugal enter the scene on November 24 by taking on Ghana, then meet Uruguay before their final group game with South Korea.
In 2018, Portugal crashed out in the round of 16 after a 2-1 defeat to Uruguay. And in Brazil in 2014, Portugal suffered a group stage exit despite a 2-1 victory over Ghana. Pushing the timeline backwards further, South Korea enjoyed a shock win over Portugal en route to their history-making success in 2002.

London, Oct 24 (Ians) Tottenham manager Antonio Conte revealed on Sunday that the team could remain without four key players for the UEFA Champions League Group D match against Sporting Lisbon, scheduled to be played at the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon on Wednesday.
Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have missed Sunday’s 2-1 home loss to Newcastle after they joined Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison on the injury list.
“At this moment, we are struggling because we have injuries, players are recovering from injuries like Oliver Skipp, today, he played and his last game was in January, his performance was good. Also, Lucas Moura is recovering from an injury in his tendon, and you have to give time and go step by step to bring him back to the best physical condition,” Conte told Tottenham’s official website.

Berlin, Oct 5 (Ians) Bayern Munich cruised past Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen 5-0 for their third win in as many games in UEFA Champions League Group C, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham Hotspur played out a goalless draw in Group D on Tuesday night.
The Bavarians made a fairy-tale start on home soil and broke the deadlock with seven minutes gone as Leroy Sane hammered the ball from a central position into the roof of the net.
Plzen tried to respond but was immediately caught flat-footed in the 13th minute when Serge Gnabry finished off a counterattack to double Bayern’s advantage, reports Xinhua. Bayern gained momentum as Sadio Mane danced through Plzen’s defence before beating hapless goalkeeper Marian Tvrdon with a low shot in the 21st minute.
The hosts’ advantage could have been greater, but Jamal Musiala’s goal in the 37th minute was ruled offside. Even though Bayern ceased their attacks after half-time,...

London, Aug 19 (Ians) Chelsea have pledged to take the “strongest action” after an alleged racist incident against Son Heung Min in Sunday’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Tottenham.
South Korea forward Son is alleged to have been racially abused by a member of the crowd at Stamford Bridge in Sunday’s top-flight clash, Dpa reports.
Chelsea have previously handed out life bans to supporters found guilty of racial abuse at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues took their latest initiative in the long-running ‘No To Hate’ campaign before Sunday’s Spurs clash, taking steps to make it easier for spectators to report alleged abuses.
The back of every seat at Stamford Bridge now has instructions on how to report incidents of abuse, either by text or by barcode on a smartphone.
Chelsea believe that identifying a specific seat from which incidents either happen or are reported will help increase the chances of individuals being caught.

Paris, Aug 13 (Ians) Karim Benzema was among the 30-man list of nominees for the 2022 Ballon d’Or award, which was announced by France Football on Friday, while seven-time winner Lionel Messi was omitted from the list for the first time since 2006.
Messi’s arch-rival, five-time winner Cristiano Ronald was included, as well as Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, French forward Kylian Mbappe, and Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
However, another Psg star Neymar also missed out on the nomination which meant that Mbappe will be the sole player on the list coming from French Ligue 1, reports Xinhua. Messi, who won the title last year, had been nominated 15 times in a row since 2006 (except for in 2020 when the award was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic). The 35-year-old didn’t meet his own lofty standards in his first season at Psg, following his shocking move from Barcelona to the French capital last summer.
