YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki is forging onward with the platform’s push toward transparency by sitting down with yet another creator on camera for a wide-ranging interview.
Following similar conversations with Matthew Patrick, Juanpa Zurita, Alfie Deyes, and Prajakta 'Mostly Sane' Koli, Wojcicki's most recent one-on-one was moderated by Try Guys star Eugene Lee Yang. Throughout their 45-minute conversation, Wojcicki touched on a number of pertinent issues, as well as those that were important to Yang -- but didn't offer any particularly new information. Topics included ongoing demonetization concerns related to YouTube's recent Coppa settlement (for which Wojicki reiterated that YouTube is pushing for more clarity), as well as its new harassment policy, which seeks to crack down on veiled threats and malicious insults of protected classes.
More broadly, Yang also asked Wojcicki about YouTube's approach to radical content in an increasingly polarized political climate, and how it deals with...

In honor of his 10th anniversary on YouTube, U.K. vlogger Alfie Deyes sat down with the video giant's CEO Susan Wojcicki for a wide-ranging, hourlong conversation.
The interview covers multiple well-trodden topics, including demonetization and creator burnout, and was conducted while Wojcicki was on a family holiday across the pond, Deyes notes. The 25-year-old also clarifies that he provided her with his questions in advance of their sitdown. While YouTube’s chief business officer, Robert Kyncl, has previously sat down with creators like Casey Neistat and Caspar Lee to redress their concerns on camera, this is Wojcicki’s first time doing so.
Perhaps one of the most interesting segments of Deyes and Wojcicki’s conversation was the revelation that YouTube is readying a new policy that would seek to curb creator-on-creator harassment -- an issue that was undoubtedly highlighted last month when Vox journalist Carlos Maza noted that the...

Gleam Futures, the U.K. digital talent management company that has lost a number of high-profile clients in recent years, will forge onward with one of its hallmark stars: the lifestyle vlogger Zoe Sugg, who counts 42 million followers across all of her social media channels and is also the proprietor of a successful beauty and lifestyle brand called Zoella.
Sugg has re-signed with Gleam after six years with the company, though Gleam did not immediately respond to request for comment about the duration of her new contract. During her time at the company, Sugg has also released several successful books, including a how-to guide titled Cordially Invited and a teen-fiction series dubbed Girl Online, which was subsequently translated into 40 languages.

James Charles may not want fans to show up at his house unbid, but he’s clearly grateful when they show up to his public appearances in hordes.
Charles traveled to Toronto over the weekend to headline the opening of the first-ever Morphe storefront in Canada. Charles recently collaborated with the socially savvy beauty brand to great success with the launch of a blockbuster eyeshadow palette that is currently sold out and pending a third restock. “I just got word that over 10,000 sisters showed up for today’s Toronto meet and greet,” he tweeted on Saturday. “That is a new record for me. Thank you so much for your constant love and support.”
Charles shared a video of himself cutting the ribbon on the new storefront showcasing the enormous crowds that appeared to fill the entire mall. Fellow creators from outside of the makeup world -- including Alfie Deyes, Philip DeFranco,...

James Charles fans likely know that the YouTube beauty phenom recently purchased a new house -- though unfortunately, it turns out, some followers appear to have tracked down the 19-year-old’s address and are showing up at his front door unannounced.
Like many YouTubers before him, Charles sternly asked his followers yesterday -- which totals 11.4 million YouTube subscribers and 11.5 million Instagram followers -- to stop coming to his home. “I will not hug you, I will not take a photo with you, and I absolutely will not sign your [eyeshadow] palette,” he tweeted. “It is extremely disrespectful and makes me feel very unsafe in my own home. Respect people’s privacy, it’s really not that hard.”
Apparently, though, it's a violation that has become a common occurrence for digital celebrities, whose fame is predicated on fostering a sense of familiarity. In the past, YouTube couples like Zoe Sugg and Alfie Deyes...

One of the biggest YouTube stars in the U.K., 24-year-old Alfie Deyes, shed some light on his next career steps amid rumblings that he is departing longtime talent management firm Gleam Futures.
At the Lisbon Web Summit, Deyes told Business Insider that he wants to enter the startup space. Deyes is forming a new company, he said, that will invest in early-stage startups and also help to grow nascent businesses with his massive social following -- which comprises more than 11.3 million YouTube subscribers across three total channels. He said that one potential investment includes a gin company, while he’s also interested in the restaurant industry and tech sphere. "It won't be 'Alfie Deyes' [branded]," he told Business Insider of potential collaborations, "just things I've helped shape".

Following reports that U.K. vloggers Caspar Lee and Joe Sugg have ceased ties with Gleam Futures -- a leading digital talent management company that helped build the careers of many prominent U.K. creators -- it appears as though fellow creator Alfie Deyes may have also departed the firm.
While Deyes -- who is a close friend and collaborator of both Lee and Sugg -- has yet to formally confirm any moves, the 24-year-old has tweeted in recent days about launching a new business venture. “The new company is really taking shape,” Deyes tweeted on Nov. 3, though he has not shared any details about its nature or scope. Lee and Sugg, who also announced their departure from Gleam on Nov. 3, are also slated to launch a new business venture -- though they, too, have yet to furnish any details.
