Summer began her acting career at the age of 8 when she was cast as Alice in the horror film Curse of Chucky (2013) directed by Don Mancini. For this leading role, Summer was able to work closely with Fiona Dourif, Danielle Bisutti and Brennan Elliott and was nominated and won her first acting award for her performance. Shortly after that film, she was cast to play Nascien in the Action, Sci-Fi thriller Garm Wars: The Last Druid (2014) directed by Mamoru Oshii which featured Lance Henriksen and Kevin Durand.
Summer made her television debut in the City TV comedy Sunnyside (2015) and appeared in the SyFy Channel Season 2 of Channel Zero (2016) as Margot; age 11. Summer played young Anna in The Midnight Man (2016) directed by Travis Zariwny starring Lin Shaye and Robert England, where she again won awards for her performance. She was also invited to reprise her beloved role of Alice in a guest appearance in Cult of Chucky (2017).
In fall 2019, Summer was cast as Renee, a lead in horror thriller, Hunter Hunter (2020) directed by Shawn Linden. Shot in rural parts of her home province, she was thrilled to work with Nick Stahl and opposite fellow Canadian actors Camille Sullivan and Devon Sawa. For this role, she won a Manitoba ACTRA award. While on that set, she continued to audition for other roles and on its last week, she was offered a movie role filming in Montreal the following week. Summer joined Clouds (2020), a biography drama directed by Justin Baldoni, where she plays Grace, the sister of main character Zach, starring Fin Argus. Working with a talented cast including Sabrina Carpenter, Madison Iseman, Tom Everett Scott, and Neve Campbell, she was so honored to be part of this journey and to help tell Zach's story.
Summer continues her journey to work on great projects with great people. She has worked on a number of cool projects recently including, yet to be released Indie project "Desire of the Prey", horror thriller All Fun and Games (2023), and crime drama Abducted by My Teacher: The Elizabeth Thomas Story (2023).
Summer continues to train and learn new skills for work and life, including stunt training, yoga, and meditation. In her downtime, Summer enjoys being active, creative, reading and writing, and spending time with family, friends and her three dogs.
