Disney stars Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty make such a sweet couple that it's hard to imagine a time when they weren't together. You might have even forgot Dove used to be engaged to someone else. Before she and Thomas connected on the set of Descendants 2 in late 2016, Dove was in a relationship with her Liv and Maddie costar Ryan McCartan, whom she dated for about three years before he popped the question in April 2016. Unfortunately, less than six months later, the two decided to go their separate ways, and by December, Dove was igniting romance rumors with a new suitor.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a formula that continues to work astonishingly well, all things considered. It’s a borderline nonsensical celebration of the camp and the queer that still delights audiences four decades on. It’s also a formula that a lot of filmmakers and stage directors are fearful to change. Not least because the musical and film has such a devout and protective purist fan-base.

Fox’s new made-for-tv musical remake of the cult favorite The Rocky Horror Picture Show aired last night and brought us on a second trip to the madcap castle of Dr. Frank N. Furter. The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do The Time Warp Again tries to recapture the wacky magic of the original source material but doesn’t quite succeed. Despite some good moments, this reboot only makes you want to watch the 1975 film again.
When people say “There are some movies that shouldn’t be remade”, they could be talking about The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Based on the popular play, the bizarre cult favorite written by Richard O'Brien and Jim Sharman was a unique piece of cinematic satire that mixed 1970s sensibilities with edgy humor and nostalgia for old sci-fi and horror films. It was a ‘moment-in-time’ creation that hit all the right notes for...

Last night, something hideously unnatural and eminently appropriate for the Halloween season took place on Fox: Executives exhumed a 40-year-old cult classic and reanimated it with Frankensteinian mad-scientist abandon. The Rocky Horror Picture Show, still a regular seat-filler at raucous and generously sexual late-night screenings nationwide, got a primetime slot and a new audience, thanks to Fox's latest attempt to capitalize on the recent televised-musical trend. This time, they've ditched the live-performance aspect and pre-taped the special, casting Disney alumni Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan as imperiled lovers Brad and Janet,...

Fox’s “Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again” strutted onto TV screens Thursday night, with viewers becoming entranced by the new Dr. Frank-n-Furter as quickly as Brad and Janet are. The musical extravaganza features Ryan McCartan as Brad who, along with his fiancée Janet (Victoria Justice), is a straight-laced young man caught up in a strange night of debauchery after the couple’s car breaks down in the middle of a storm. Laverne Cox also stars as Dr. Frank-n-Furter, Adam Lambert as Eddie, Christina Milian as Magenta and Reeve Carney as Riff-Raff. While the beloved...

Dear weirdos of the world — if you love the original “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” if it changed your life forever, if its musical numbers are embedded in the grooves of your brain, you probably shouldn’t watch the new Fox remake (subtitled “Let’s Do the Time Warp Again”), airing tonight.
Not that it’s stupefyingly bad, but because if you watch looking for the reasons you love the Jim Sharman-directed 1975 film, you’ll find yourself sorely disappointed.

And if you’re less familiar with the original film, watching this remake will technically introduce you to the premise, but won’t explain the film’s legacy. Here’s a simple explanation for the newest interpretation: The newly engaged Brad (Ryan McCartan) and Janet (Victoria Justice), driving down a rural road, get a flat tire, and go looking for help.

Reeve Carney isnâ.t just dreaming it, he’s living it.
Though he grew up right around the corner from where The Rocky Horror Picture Show first began presenting its midnight showings in New York City, Carney was never able to stop in and watch the show because it “was not something that my parents would have taken me to,” the entertainer tells People exclusively.
But now, Carney’s come full circle after landing a starring role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake.

It was bound to happen eventually. With reboots and remakes popping up on television and in film more often than ever before, fans of The Rocky Horror Picture Show had plenty of warning that the 1975 cult classic would eventually be revisited. In fact, a remake of the film – itself based on the popular perennial stage production – has been in development in some form or another for more than a decade. And so, The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again finally heads to Fox this week, much to the chagrin of show creator Richard O’Brien.
The production is just the latest classic musical to be repackaged as a television event, following Fox’s great success with Grease: Live back in January. Ryan McCartan and Victoria Justice star as Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, the engaged couple who stumble onto the castle of the hedonistic Dr.

When Lou Adler, producer of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show, began work on a TV remake of the film, he wasn't quite sure what would fly on a major TV network. Neither were fans of the 1975 original, some of whom wrote him to say they were worried the whole thing would be ruined by censorship. This was one of the most beloved cult movies of all time, one which featured Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick prancing around in their underwear and sleeping with its murderous protagonist Dr. Frank-n-Furter, a...

2016-10-18T08:15:51-07:00'Rocky Horror Picture Show' Goes Mainstream on Fox
This week Fox continues the popular trend of staging musical versions of classic stories for a TV audience. Fox's last entry in the genre was January's Grease: Live, a production that was widely praised by critics. This time around the staging of The Rocky Horror Picture Show isn't live, and it isn't getting nearly as much love from critics who've previewed the production.
This new version of the cult classic film stars Ryan McCartan as Brad and Victoria Justice as his girlfriend Janet. The pair stumble upon the creepy abode of Dr. Frank-n-Furter (Laverne Cox) and her creepy household staff (Christina Milian, Reeve Carney, Annaleigh Ashford). Adam Lambert and Staz Nair also play key roles.

The recent trend of TV musical events has been squeaky clean so far — The Sound of Music, Grease Live! — but now Fox is getting filthy with a remake of the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s lewd, crude, and still shocking forty years later, and Fox’s new version (airing Thursday, 8/7c) is a vibrant adaptation that faithfully captures the spirit of the original. But… there’s also a fatal flaw here that threatens to spoil the whole party.

Laverne Cox only had one reservation when she joined the cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do The Time Warp Again as Dr. Frank-n-Furter. More specifically, one word.
In the TV movie remake, Cox performs the song “Sweet Transvestite,” and talked to reporters at Variety‘s Power of Women Luncheon about her thoughts on the term “transvestite.”
“That was the only apprehension I really had about doing the film was the term transvestite,” she said. “I’ve been telling people, ‘Please do not go up to a transgender person in 2016 and call them a transvestite, that is an antiquated term.

He played the “Sweet Transvestite” scientist Dr. Frank-n-Furter in the iconic 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And now, over 40 years later, Tim Curry is returning to the musical that made him a star.
Curry, 70, is set to appear in Fox’s upcoming reboot, The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again. And on Thursday, he joined the cast — including his role’s new star Laverne Cox — at the Los Angeles premiere, marking a rare red carpet appearance for the actor.
Curry, who has been in a wheelchair since suffering a stroke in 2013, was dressed in an all-black ensemble.

Ryan McCartan isn't one to wallow in sadness. On the heels of his breakup with fiancée Dove Cameron, the 23-year-old actor was in high spirits when he walked the red carpet Thursday at the premiere of The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again in West Hollywood. McCartan posed for photos with co-stars Reeve Carney, Laverne Cox, Victoria Justice, Ivy Levan, Christina Milian, Staz Nair and Ben Vereen, who became like family as they shot Kenny Ortega's homage to the 1975 musical of the same name. If McCartan is correct, fans of the original film should embrace the remake. "Here's the situation: It's the exact same script. Every 't' crossed, every 'i' dotted....

Two Disney Channel stars are putting the brakes on any upcoming wedding. E! News can confirm Dove Cameron and Ryan McCartan have broken up almost six months after getting engaged.
