The casts of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International bid adieu as their respective canceled series wrapped filming.
While the CBS cancellations were announced in early March, leaving behind mothership series FBI — now in its seventh installment and renewed through the 2026-27 broadcast season — the spinoffs had yet to wrap production and finish filming, meaning they had time to adjust scripts to rework material into series finales.
Though Most Wanted will end after Season 6 and International was canceled after four seasons, the FBI universe is slated to get a new offshoot with the tentatively titled CIA, featuring Lucifer alum Tom Ellis. That offshoot, written by Dick Wolf and Most Wanted showrunner David Hudgins, follows two unlikely partners: a fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon CIA case officer (Ellis) and a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent who believes in the rule of law.

It's a bittersweet time for FBI: International fans, as the excitement of the final explosive set of episodes is tainted by the inevitable reality that just three episodes remain before the spin-off is off-air for good. Last night, Episode 19, "Flinch Now and It's Over," saw Eva-Jane Willis and Jesse Lee Soffer go undercover on a breathless Vienna-based mission to intercept a suspected American arms dealer. High-octane and bursting with tension, the episode reminded audiences of just how good FBI: International can be, and, sadly, just how frustrating it is that CBS has terminated the spin-off.
Nevertheless, the show must go on, and indeed it will with the upcoming Episode 20, "We're Out of Here." As can be seen in the official sneak peek of the episode available to watch below, "We're Out of Here" sees a mission seemingly go wrong as the stakes are heightened heading into the final trio of episodes.

FBI: International did not air a new episode on Tuesday, March 25 but don’t worry! We won’t have to wait long for a new episode to arrive. Find out when we will next see the Fly Team and what to expect when the episode airs on CBS.
The last time we saw the team, they had taken down an evangelical preacher who was on the run and seeking asylum. Despite them running into difficulties nabbing him, they kept going, especially once he went after the daughter of one of his disciples. Once the case was over, Mitchell came face to face with someone from his past. We’ll find out more about what she is in town for when a new episode airs on Tuesday, April 1.
Mitchell's past comes to light in new episode “The Kill Floor” – A member of the Fly Team goes missing as the hunt for Greg Csonka continues in Paris.

CBS aired the promo for Season 4 Episode 16, titled “Little Angel,” on March 18, and it shows the Fly Team will be working a case involving the abduction of an American infant and her mother. “Please find my family,” the father begs. “Until everybody involved in this is in cuffs, we’re not done,” Wes (Jesse Lee Soffer) says. But the promo, which you can watch above, shows that during the course of the team’s investigation, a perpetrator comes up behind Smitty (Eva-Jane Willis) and shoots her.

FBI: International's cast have reacted to the show's shocking cancellation. CBS announced earlier this month it was axing both current FBI spinoffs, International and Most Wanted.
The network's surprising cancellation of two of its most popular procedurals leaves only the original FBI series on the air for now. Franchise creator Dick Wolf is developing another potential spinoff titled FBI: CIA, about a joint FBI-cia Taskforce fighting terrorism.

The Fly Team has barely stepped foot on land in Venice when they get a rundown of the case, and already we can see some problems for them in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the March 11 episode of FBI: International. We focus on the One Chicago franchise on this site. It's in the title, after all. But we acknowledge that One Chicago is parter of a larger, Dick Wolf-led ecosystem of shows. Law and Order and FBI may do their own thing for the most part, but these franchises are intertwined with One Chicago in a big way.
This intertwining is what makes the FBI cancelations such a surprise. The franchise had two of its spinoff titles yanked by CBS, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted, on Tuesday. This means the flagship show is the only active title that is slated to return for more seasons. The cast and crew of these shows is similarly shocked.
Eva-Jane Willis, who plays Megan "Smitty" Garreson on FBI: International, issued a statement on the cancelations to Us Weekly. She admitted to being saddened by CBS' decision, especially given all the stories that had yet to be told.

CBS has sent two of Dick Wolf's popular procedural dramas to the chopping block in a surprise move as the network tries to make room in its schedule and slash costs. The high-profile cuts come from the FBIuniverse, with the network deciding to cancel two of its popular spinoffs.
Per Deadline, CBS has decided to cancel FBI spinoffs FBI: Most Wantedand FBI: International. The former has run the longest, at six seasons, while International has been a part of the network's lineup for four seasons. On the surface, it seems unclear why CBS has decided to ditch the two spinoffs, especially since both shows do pretty decently in linear viewership. The potential problem for both shows is that they aren't produced in-house and come from Universal Television, which can make renewal negotiations very tricky. CBS has had negotiations go down to the wire in recent years with NBCUniversal, particularly with the FBI franchise.

CBS is cutting the ranks of its FBI agents.
The network has canceled FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. The two shows will end their runs in the spring after six and four seasons, respectively. The flagship series, which is in the midst of a multiseason order taking it through the 2026-27 season, will remain at CBS.
Another entry in the franchise, which would focus on CIA operatives and is tentatively titled FBI: CIA, is in development at CBS. The potential show is set to be introduced as a back-door pilot in an episode of FBI later this season.
The cancellations come as something of a surprise, even though neither series was part of a sizable renewal announcement CBS made in February.
