Independent dance label Armada Music, founded in 2003 by Dutch trance DJ and producer Armin van Buuren, Maykel Piron and manager and agent David Lewis, said Tuesday that its investment vehicle Beat Music Fund has acquired Amsterdam-based music publisher Cloud 9 Music, bolstering its publishing division.
Cloud 9’s roster includes the likes of U.S. house music veteran Green Velvet, aka Curtis Jones, aka Cajmere, South Africa’s That Girl, and Dutch DJ and producer Hardwell.
“As part of the acquisition, the teams of Armada Music’s existing publishing company, Armada Publishing B.V., and Cloud 9 Music will merge to form Armada Music Publishing,” the companies said. “Employees from Cloud 9 Music will join the team, effectively tripling its headcount.”
Financial terms weren’t disclosed. “This strategic move underscores Armada’s mission to position itself as the best partner in the in-demand global electronic dance industry, projected to reach $20.9 billion by 2033,” the firm said.

How does dance music sensation John Summit pregame his set at one of Las Vegas’ most popular nightclubs the Friday before the Super Bowl? Laying in bed, eating an airport sandwich.
But just because he’s horizontal doesn’t mean he’s unproductive. In fact, he’s spending his time cooking up something new that could be house music’s next smash hit — or at least a highlight of what his fans hear that night. “I try to make a new song for every set,” Summit, 29, says. “I usually make...

This generation is crazy about cross-overs and mashups thanks to social media. The surging demand for engrossing reels has motivated musicians to come up with amazing remixes. While many of these are cringe enough to not entertain even for a second, there is DJ Johnnie Ernest’s solid cross-over that has caused ripples on social media. Netizens have gone bonkers over this song and cannot stop listening to it on a loop.
DJ Johnnie merged two chart-buster songs of 2022, which are AP Dhillon’s Excuses and CKay’s Love Nwantiti. Well, you might have heard multiple cross-overs of these songs with other ones, but we ought to say that this is the best. The right amount of music and lyrics with the precise drop make this cross-over incredible. Johnnie Ernest made this mashup in collaboration with Jaz Scape.
Released on YouTube, this masterpiece has amassed 10 million views on YouTube. This insane reach has astounded him.

Edc 2017: Inside Dance Music’s Mecca With Drake, Rezz, Diplo, Alison Wonderland and Lil Jon (Photos)
The 21st Electric Daisy Carnival, the largest dance music festival in North America, took place outside Las Vegas this weekend. Costumes, neon, and bass drops were expected. Drake (center), was not. The Kinetic Field main stage was rebuilt from scratch this year, dubbed “Kinetic Gaia”. Illuminating the intersection of nature and technology, the most popular and mainstream artists like Tiesto, Dillon Francis, Hardwell, and trance legend Armin Van Buuren played here. One totem-toting fan in the crowd at Metro Boomin’s midnight set on Sunday must have been tipped off about the rap royalty about to appear. “(Metro Boomin) brought me to space.

During a Revealed Recordings party as part of Amsterdam Dance Event last night, former #1 DJ Hardwell went off on an epic rant against the publication that once afforded him that title. DJ Mag is no stranger to controversy when it comes to their infamous Top 100 DJs list, an annual ranking of dance music’s biggest stars that is a frequent point of contention among fans and industry members alike. With this year’s edition of the top 100 having just been released, it’s no surprise to see a big league producer taking shots at the poll, though we wouldn’t have guessed it would be Hardwell.
During the rant, Hardwell stated that one of the artists on his Revealed Recordings roster would never “get the chance to play the big festivals” because they aren’t on the list, touching on the notion that the Top 100 DJs poll has a negative effect for some musicians.

Insomniac doesn’t mess around when it comes to lineups. The company has consistently impressed us year after year by revealing star studded rosters for their events, all with a nice variety of genres and artists, ensuring that there’s always something for everyone.
Tonight, they continue that trend with the full lineup for Edc (Electric Daisy Carnival) Las Vegas, which was announced on the latest edition of Night Owl Radio, Insomniac’s weekly radio show. As per usual though, the names were revealed in a rather cryptic manner and while we still don’t have an official list to consult, the Edm community has taken to Reddit to start putting the pieces together.
You can see below for the full list of what’s been deciphered so far, but highlights include Sleepy Tom, Throttle, Shaun Frank, Hot Since 82, Lane 8, Dusky,...

If you didn’t get to make it to Electric Daisy Carnival‘s flagship festival in Las Vegas this year, we know what you’re going through. You probably don’t even want to get out of bed and start your day, food doesn’t even taste good, and life has lost all meaning since you don’t have a massive of such a scale to look forward to anymore. Well we’re not going to tell you that we can put you there – that would be a lie, and not even a remotely believable one – but we can do the next best thing: link you to the live stream.
That’s right, it’s time to get out of the tub and put those razor blades away because starting at 8:30 Pst many of the biggest performances happening at Edc Las Vegas will be available by live stream through Yahoo Live.

While Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival UK may only be a one day event, they certainly aren’t slouching when it comes to the lineup.
Released today was the official roster for the summer festival and with headliners like Hardwell, Steve Aoki and Tiësto, you may want to consider making a trip to the UK on July 11th.
Of course, the list of artists doesn’t end with the aforementioned three DJs. Also making appearances will be Art Department, Ilan Bluestone (!), Carnage, Cosmic Gate and many more. While it’s a bit of a different lineup than we’re used to seeing from some of the festival’s other outings, particularly Las Vegas and New York, it’s an interesting mix of mainstream and underground acts that will surely offer up something exciting for those who are in attendance.
