Anthony Aguilar(VII)
- Actor
Anthony Aguilar grew up in Chicago, the son of a Mexican mother and Irish-American father. He was blessed to be the "middle kid" of 3 boys.
At 17, he joined the United States Navy and was set to become either an officer or because of his language aptitude, a cryptologic technician, 'code breaker'. He speaks Spanish fluently and from work abroad conversational Japanese, Russian and Portuguese.
After graduating from college he lived and worked in Japan, Russia, Mexico, Panama, Brazil, Dominican Republic, the Philippines, Thailand and traversed Asia on the Trans-Mongolian railroad. He went to DC to earn his Masters in international finance and studied acting at night at the acclaimed Studio Theatre in DC. While his DC day job took him on "official business" to the Hill and the White House; his acting classes had him day dreaming and at night, tossing and turning. Eventually, he realized his impulse for exploring humanity was more than just a curiosity so he went to the biggest pot of humanity he knew.
Anthony has been studying the craft of acting for going on two decades. He's Meisner trained with the Esper Studio and the Terry Knickerbocker Studio. To pay the bills, he became a freelance medical interpreter working in the ER's, ORs and Psych wards of New York City. His decade, working alongside doctors and nurses serving people in every phase of life feeds his work as a storyteller and he is grateful to all who have put their trust in him.
As a producer, Anthony produced Parallels, a TV pilot set in the world of international finance and corporate intrigue which competed in the NBC Voice and Vision Episodic Drama Challenge. As a writer, he has written two screenplays and a series pilot about his work in New York City hospitals. His television pilot screenplay "Babble On" was a competitor at the Sundance Institute Episodic Lab.
As an actor, on the set of Shades of Blue, Anthony had the privilege of learning an important lesson from Ray Liotta, which he brings to his work. Recently, he can be seen opposite the energizing and intimidating Shemar Moore and Dani Oliveiros on S.W.A.T., and daytime legend Nicholas Coster and James Lesure on The Rookie: Feds. Last year he wrapped his debut on Law & Order: Organized Crime opposite Danielle Moné Truitt and Danny Gonzalez and earlier Co-starred on FBI: Most Wanted working with Julian McMahon, Jennifer Roszell, and "stud" of an actor, a horse named Knight!
Anthony is a husband and proud father of two "strong like bull" sons, who have him coaching sports, buttering toast and hoisting countless piñatas. In November 2020, he moved his family by Minivan-drawn wagon in a 3 month Covid/Walking Dead inspired odyssey across the states from East New York to West L.A. He splits time between NYC and L.A.
