Former "Dual Survival" host Cody Lundin's toughest job was surviving his co-host, who threatened to kill him with all sorts of weapons ... according to a lawsuit he filed against Discovery. Lundin says producers made it look like he was losing it on set -- but according to the docs, his partner, Joe Teti, was the real menace. He says while shooting in Norway ... Teti threatened to "bury" him on a mountain while waving around an ice axe.

One of the stars of Discovery's "Dual Survival" injured or killed a dog on the set during the final episode ... this according to multiple sources connected with the production. Our sources say Joe Teti, a former Green Beret, was shooting one of the final scenes when some stray cats ran across the set ... apparently fleeing from a dog. We're told the dog actually got one of the cats in its jaws, and that's when Teti went after the canine.

This makes us miss Bear Grylls… Among the new shows Discovery will announce later today at its Upfront presentation to advertisers in New York are two survival series in which clothing is not included. Each episode of Naked and Afraid will strand a new pair of strangers in one of the world’s harshest environments with no food, no water, no tools, and no clothes. “As their extreme survival skills are put to the test for 21 days, each couple must battle the elements, each other, and their own inner weakness to triumph over the terrain and their predicament,” the press release promises.
