When Game of Thrones wrapped up its run after eight seasons, it seemed it had ruined any chance of a spinoff due to the poor fan reaction to the final season.
House of the Dragon, a prequel charting the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty, premiered in 2022 and delivered plenty of fantasy drama to reignite interest in the franchise.
The Targaryen storyline is interesting because we didn’t meet many of them on the original series due to them being dead.
House of the Dragon Season 1 successfully established the conflicts between the Greens and the Blacks to prepare for the mother of all battles on House of the Dragon Season 2.
With new episodes fast approaching, it’s time to delve into everything we know about the next chapter.

In three separate realms, Tales of Kenzera begins as a story of loss. In the real world, Surgent Studios’s CEO and creative director, Abubakar Salim, lost his father, sparking a need to create an outlet for his grief. In the game itself, Zuberi, a young man of the Afrofuturist utopia of Amani, has lost his own father and is gifted a book of myths that was written by the man as he was dying so that his son could cope. Finally, the book’s story, and that of the playable narrative, concerns a young shaman named Zau who’s also lost his father.
However, Zau has a more extreme solution to deal with his grief: He seeks out Kalunga, the god of Death in the shape of a tribal elder, and attempts to bargain to bring his father’s soul back from the grave. Kalunga agrees, in exchange for...

When Assassin’s Creed: Origins was released at the tail-end of October 2017, it came during a moment of transition and epiphany for the long-running video game franchise. After being launched a decade earlier, almost to the day, there had been a new Assassin’s Creed title virtually every year from the game publisher Ubisoft. Until 2016. Due to spending so many years returning to the same formula, Assassin’s Creed developers realized they needed time off; they needed to regroup and reimagine; they needed bold change in what their vision of the future could be.
Abubakar Salim could relate. Fresh out of a classical education at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Salim did not necessarily anticipate discovering a career in video game voice acting and motion-capture, yet his casting in the central role of Assassin’s Creed: Origins as Bayek of Siwa had a life-altering effect.

HBO’s confirmed a June 16, 2024 premiere date for House of the Dragon season two and released the first-ever “dueling” trailers. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story,” reads HBO’s press release. “For global audiences, ‘All Must Choose’ their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two.”

House of the Dragon season two dropped dueling trailers Thursday, prompting fans to choose between the black trailer, focusing on Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), or the green one, which puts Alicent (Olivia Cooke) at the forefront.
Rhaenyra’s trailer focuses on her, Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) and their Dragonstone forces, while the green puts King Landing’s team of Alicent, Otto (Rhys Ifans) and her children — King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) — at the forefront. This season of the Emmy-nominated show will begin the Targaryen’s civil war, also known as the Dance of the Dragons.
Max also announced a June 16 release date for the eight-episode second season of the Game of Thrones prequel that picks up where the first season of the Emmy-winning show left off. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and takes place 200 years before the events of the hit...

The purpose is to allow viewers to easily choose between the two warring sides of the Targaryen family.
New episodes of the eight-part season get underway on Sunday, June 16, at 9/8c on HBO and Max.
Let’s delve into the two trailers because each makes a compelling case for being Team Black and Team Green.

HBO has released not one, but two trailers for the upcoming House Of The Dragon season 2 and revealed when it’ll premiere.
If you’ve been patiently waiting for some more concrete news on House Of The Dragon season 2, we have some good news for you.
HBO has released two new trailers for the upcoming season and given it a release date.
The new season will air on HBO starting from 16th June in the US and 17th June in the UK on Sky Atlantic. UK viewers can either watch the episode at 2am at the same time as our American friends or watch it in the usual primetime spot at 9pm.

The reason there’s two is that viewers can choose their side between Green and Black, aimed to represent the conflict between King Aemon and Queen Rhaenyra, both of whom believe they have the birthright to the throne.

The councils are at war. If you pledge your loyalty to the Black Council, you can watch the Black Trailer. If you are a supporter of the Green Council, you can view the Green Trailer. Or if you’re just in excited anticipation of the new season of the Game of Thrones series, you can watch them both. HBO has just released two trailers, by way of Deadline, that tell of the upcoming civil conflict for the control of The Iron Throne. In October of 2022, the first season of House of the Dragon left audiences with a sense of impending war as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen found herself laced with rage and coming to a decision to battle for the throne. The second season suffered some delay due to last year’s dual union strikes, but wait no more. The Green and Black trailers showcase this season’s story from the...

“House of the Dragon” is asking viewers to pick a side in Season 2: Rhaenyra’s black faction or Alicent’s green team?
HBO dropped two unique trailers Thursday for Season 2, which premieres on June 16. One trailer focuses on Rhaenrya, Prince Daemon and their forces on Dragonstone, and the other is centered on the King’s Landing team of Alicent, her father Otto and her children King Aegon and Prince Aemond. Taking place 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” will officially mark the start of the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war.
In the wake of the Season 1 finale, in which Aemond murders Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys and his dragon, war is imminent in Westeros. The blacks and the greens are both gathering their forces, dragons and new allies to face off in a bloody, fiery battle to the death.

Stepping into Westeros, the fictional fantasy world created by George R.R. Martin, is something that some can only dream of. But for actor Abubakar Salim, who will play Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon’s upcoming second season, this dream is already becoming a reality. Season 2 is set to introduce several new characters as the Targaryen civil war escalates beyond King’s Landing and Dragonstone, and among those is Salim’s Alyn, a character with deep ties to the Velaryons and old Valyria, and whose future has the potential to extend beyond the borders of Westeros.
Sitting down with Den of Geek at SXSW to discuss his career, Salim spoke about what it’s been like to step into this fantasy world and what he loves about the universe that Martin has created. “Oh man, I’m terrified! I’m really pumped for it,” Salim says. “I’ve...

House Of The Dragon Season 2 Release Date Revealed By Matt Smith ( Photo Credit – Max / YouTube )
The House of the Dragon Season 2 release date might have been spoiled by the show’s star, Matt Smith, in a recent interview. It is set 172 years before the birth of Game of Thrones’ Daenerys. After a successful first season, the fans have been waiting eagerly. Smith plays the role of Daemon Targaryen in the HBO series and is paired with Emma D’Arcy’s character, Rhaenyra Targaryen and the first season ended on a high note with Lucerys Velaryon’s death by Aemond’s Dragon Vhagar.
The first season came out in 2022 and, like Got, has been lauded and appreciated by the audience for the fantastic performances by every actor, especially Paddy Considine as King Viserys. The cinematography, VFX, storyline, and execution were bang on, leaving fans wanting more.

HBO’s House of the Dragon season two teaser trailer opens with Otto Hightower admitting errors were made immediately following King Viserys’ death. The kingdom’s being torn apart by conflict between those who support the Greens and those who stand with the Blacks. And Alicent Hightower warns, “The war will be fought, many will die, and the victor will eventually ascend the throne.”
“There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin, and no war so bloody as a war between dragons,” says Rhaenys Targaryen. That pronouncement is followed by scenes of battle, and fighting between the mythological beasts.

With so many shows being delayed, House of the Dragon Season 2 is still on track for a summer 2024 launch on HBO.
It's nice to know when to expect the hit Game of Thrones spinoff's return because many shows are in the air at this stage.
HBO gave viewers their first close-up of the second chapter at the Ccxp fan event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday.
As expected, plenty of blood-filled encounters, dragons, and some vengeance are thrown in for good measure.
After House of the Dragon Season 1 concluded with Lucerys being knocked out of the sky by Vhagar.
What was supposed to send a message by frightening Lucerys became something much more sinister when Vhagar took control of the situation and killed Rhaenyra's son.
The promo picks up with Rhaenyra at Storm's End, and let's just say she does not look thrilled.

“House of the Dragon” Season 2 will premiere in “early summer” 2024 on HBO, network chief Casey Bloys announced during a press event in New York on Thursday. At the media presentation, the first trailer for the second season screened exclusively for reporters, but details about the contents of the footage were kept under an embargo.
During a Q&a portion of the event, Bloys said he expects that “Game of Thrones” spinoff “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight” will begin shooting next spring, pending the end of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

This article contains potential spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2.
While the American entertainment industry is shut down by studios’ refusal to give writers and actors a fair deal, some productions overseas are able to continue apace. One of those productions is season 2 of Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon.
According to a source no less authoritative than A Song of Ice and Fire writer and Game of Thrones progenitor George R.R. Martin, the scripts are wrapped on season 2 and filming is still underway in Wales, Spain, and other locations around Europe.

Filming on Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” will continue in the U.K. despite the U.S. writers’ strike.
A source close to production tells Variety that scripts on the hit show have been done for some time, and that filming on the second season won’t be affected.
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers ended contract talks with the Writers Guild of America on Monday night, hours before the contract expiration deadline. The WGA responded by calling for a strike to begin on Tuesday.
Under strike rules, WGA members working internationally must down tools on any project that falls within the union’s jurisdiction if there’s active writing work taking place. As such, a number of U.S. projects filming in the U.K. could be affected by the strike — it’s just a matter of how extensively such a disruption will impact the production overall.

This article contains spoilers from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and therefore may spoil portions of House of the Dragon season 2.
Close viewers of HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon may have noticed a troubling trend with the House Velaryon of Driftmark. As season 1 of the prequel progressed, the ancient family with Valyrian roots (much like the Targaryens) seemed to be running low on potential heirs.
Lord Corlys Velaryon a.k.a. The Sea Snake (Steve Toussaint) is about as powerful as a Westerosi noble can be. Thanks to his fruitful voyages across The Narrow Sea, Corlys’s house is blessed with untold riches and influence. Yet, as we saw with his close call near the end of the season, Corlys can’t live forever. One day someone will have to succeed him as Lord of the Tides and sit atop the Driftwood Throne. "Game of Thrones" prequel series "House of the Dragon" became one of the buzziest TV events since, well, "Game of Thrones" when it aired in the second half of 2022.
