It’s been 470 calendar days since Beyoncé gave her stans an inkling that a Renaissance visual album was coming. In the year following the release of her seventh studio album, the BeyHive relied on their improvisational skills to keep them engaged throughout its nontraditional rollout. They made viral dance challenges to “Cuff It” on TikTok; tried to replicate Bey’s melismatic bridge from “Virgo’s Groove”; and when the came time for everybody to be “on mute” during the “Energy” segment of Renaissance World Tour shows, cities across the world...

Beyoncé brought Renaissance to the big screen on Saturday night, premiering her new concert film at a star-studded event in Beverly Hills.
The premiere, which took place at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater and included a dress code of “cozy opulence,” featured a chrome carpet followed by a screening of the movie. Guests were invited to take photos on the glitzy step-and-repeat — which featured Renaissance film artwork — and participate in several other photo ops, including posing with Beyoncé’s signature silver horse.
Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Latavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, along with Janelle Monáe, Issa Rae, Lizzo, Halle and Chloe Bailey, Lupita Nyong’o, Tyler Perry, Niecy Nash-Betts, Gabrielle Union, Ava DuVernay, Lena Waithe, Kris Jenner, Robin Thede, Jeremy Pope, Laverne Cox, Marsai Martin, Coco Jones, Beyoncé dancers Les Twins and her parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles, were among the stars who walked the carpet.

Beyoncé nearly exposed a bit more of herself to fans than she intended during a recent stop on her Renaissance World Tour, until a fast-thinking backup dancer jumped in to save the day.
During her performance in Hamburg, Germany, Queen Bey was in the midst of performing “Break My Soul”, an energetic dance number in which she does a lot of moving.
In the midst of those moves, one of the straps on her cleavage-baring gown apparently loosened, threatening to come undone.

It’s doubtful that any paying customer actually ordered another Men in Black movie. Though the 1997 original was a fizzy delight, MiB 2 and 3 defined meh. Still, if you’re going to revamp the franchise without Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones to ride herd on the aliens among us, smart move to bring in Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. The two delivered genuine comic spark to the party that was Thor: Ragnorak and they haven’t lost their touch. Hemsworth and Thompson also look great suited up like Reservoir Dogs...

If you missed The Kings on “World of Dance” this season, then you missed something pretty spectacular. The hip-hop crew from Mumbai, India, overcame financial hardship to compete on the series, but it was worth the trip. They dominated the competition from beginning to end, and now they have dominated our poll: almost three-quarters of fans (74%) say they’re the show’s best winners yet. Watch every single performance from the season three champions above.
The Kings performed five times overall: in the Qualifiers, the Duels, the Cut, the Divisional Final and at last the World Final. Their very first performance earned a gargantuan judges’ average score of 97.7, but that would actually turn out to be their lowest score of the season. Across all five performances they averaged 98.8 from the judges, which included the season finale performance that earned them only the second perfect 100 in the history of the show...

“World of Dance” ended its third season on Sunday night with a victory by The Kings, arguably the most dominant contestants on the show yet. They got only the second perfect score in the history of the show: 100s across the board from Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough. But those are the only votes that count on this series. Unlike other dance competitions like “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing with the Stars,” “World of Dance” is pre-recorded. Do you think they should go live and give viewers a say next season?
Opening the show to viewer votes might level the playing field. Thus far, hip-hop acts have dominated the show, winning all three seasons so far: Les Twins in season one, The Lab in season two and now The Kings in season three. Meanwhile, contemporary dancers have been runners-up three years running: Eva Igo in season one,...

“World of Dance” is about to end its third season, and for the third time in a row there’s a contemporary soloist in the World Final competing for the million dollar grand prize: Upper Division champion Briar Nolet. But so far only hip-hop dancers have ever won the show. Can Nolet succeed where Eva Igo and Michael Dameski failed? Make your predictions here in our predictions center for Sunday night’s grand finale.
Eva Igo became a fan favorite when she competed on the show during its first season. She made it to the World Final, but was narrowly beaten by hip-hop duo Les Twins in a battle that came down to literally one-tenth of a point — so close, yet so far. Igo even tried her luck on the show again in season two, but she was upset midway through the competition, knocked out during the Duels by Avery and Marcus.

Dd Flection are in another world — literally. The “World of Dance” season three hopefuls already won the show in their native Thailand. Now the contemporary pair have their sights set on the Us version, but they’ve got a long way to go before being named the best dancers on the globe for a second time. They may have made it through the Qualifiers with flying colors, but they’re among a highly competitive group of performers in the Upper Division. Who among the 10 acts in this field is the best? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
In the last two seasons the Upper Division on “World of Dance” has established itself as a dominant force. In season one the Upper Division champs Les Twins ended up winning the world championship, and in season two Upper Division winner Michael Dameski was a close runner-up.

After two episodes of Qualifiers on “World of Dance” season three the highest scoring act so far was The Kings, a hip-hop troupe from India who received an average of 97.7 from Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo. That was right out of the gate in episode one. Then in episode two the judges gave some more of the season’s best marks to hip-hop acts including Tobias and the EZTwins, Fuego Dance Crew and VPeepz. Those aren’t the only acts the judges have loved, but hip-hop has been disproportionately successful since the show launched in 2017. Are the judges giving other dance styles a fair shake?

Could Tobias and the EZTwins follow in the winning footsteps of those other European hip-hop siblings, Les Twins, on “World of Dance”? In the second round of Qualifiers, the dance trio representing Denmark and Slovenia gave a performance that so impressed the judges that Jennifer Lopez just about offered them a job right on the spot. But that would actually be well-charted territory for them since we learned that they have performed professionally for artists like Anne-Marie and Kylie Minogue in the past. So even if this “World of Dance” thing doesn’t work out, they’ve got a pretty good back-up plan. Watch their performance above. Read the judges’ critiques below, and let us know if you agree with them.

“World of Dance” is back for season three! The international dance competition aired its first two seasons in the summers of 2017 and 2018, and it returned on Tuesday night, February 26, for its first spring edition. Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo and Derek Hough are back as judges, but the show introduced a new host: Scott Evans from “Access Live,” who takes over from previous presenter Jenna Dewan. So who stood out on the first night of the competition? Scroll down for our live blog for all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
NBC previewed two of the Qualifiers contestants in advance, and if they’re any indication this season is already as competitive as the last two — maybe more. Upper Team Division hip-hop troupe The Kings gave the judges near-convulsions of excitement with their mind-boggling acrobatics, and Junior Division soloist Lauren Yakima gave Lopez “goosies” with a performance that showed off intense emotions and insane flexibility.

“World of Dance” begins its third season tonight on NBC — its first spring season following previous editions that took place during the summers of 2017 and 2018. But even after a couple of years of elite international contestants the world doesn’t seem to have run out of talent, as evidenced by this performance by Junior Division soloist Lauren Yakima. Could the contemporary phenom follow in the footsteps of season one finalist Eva Igo or season two finalist Michael Dameski? Watch a sneak peak of her routine above.
Yakima does sure remind me of Igo and Dameski. She has the same acrobatic complexity, the same otherworldly flexibility, the same intensity. And though you don’t see the judges’ critiques in the preview video above, Jennifer Lopez can be heard during the performance admitting that she got “goosies” — that’s goosebumps for the “World of Dance” uninitiated. Anticipation is building for the all-new Men In Black International, which already boasts an incredible cast and a jam-packed first trailer. Now, thanks to Entertainment Weekly we're getting even more exciting tidbits about the film, which is kind of a sequel and a reboot all rolled into one. "[It's] a sort of reinvention, an opening up of the original franchise that aesthetically is a lot different," star Chris Hemsworth said in the cover story. "Like the geography of this one, we're not just in New York - we're in Istanbul, Italy, London."
So, what else have we learned from this piece? As it turns out, it's a mini treasure trove of hints as to what we can expect when the film hits theaters on June 14. Buried in the text are little factoids about the alien critters we'll be meeting, a new cast member, and some hilarious quotes about Hemsworth's difficulty breaking...

Sunday Update: Sony, the studio responsible for delivering Dwayne Johnson’s biggest movie of all-time at the domestic box office earlier this year, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($404.5M), beat the family action star’s Skyscraper this weekend with their family-animated film, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, $44.1M to $25.4M.
The animated feature, efficiently budgeted at reportedly $80M before P&A, contributes to summer’s franchise momentum, fueled by Incredibles 2, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, and at a start that currently marks the second-best domestic opening for the Adam Sandler vampire animated series behind Hotel Transylvania 2 ($48.4M). Sony is looking forward to some great weekday business on what is arguably the last mass-appealing animated pic of the summer. The threequel is no doubt bound to be more profitable than its predecessor, which reaped $159.5M in black ink off a $473.2M Ww box office.
“World of Dance” is taking the night off on Tuesday, July 3, the eve of Independence Day. The reality-competition series will be back on July 10 with Round 6 of “The Qualifiers,” in which the contestants work hard to impress the judges in the hopes of advancing to the single-elimination “Duels” round. The dance acts need to average 80 or above in order to move forward, but the competition is so intense that there have already been five who scored 95 or above. Which of those performances did you think was the best? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
Three of those massive scores came during the season premiere episode. Desi Hoppers, representing the Upper Team Division, got the show off to a great start with an Indian hip-hop routine that Jennifer Lopez thought was “impeccable.” They averaged 96 after Lopez’s score was combined with Ne-Yo‘s and Derek Hough‘s.

How do you follow up a performance like Eva Igo‘s? She stole the show in week four of “World of Dance,” easily advancing to the next round. On June 26 the international competition aired its fifth week of “Qualifiers,” in which contestants need to score an average of 80 points from the judges to move on to “The Duels.” So who stood out the most in this week’s show? Find out below in our live blog with all the developments as they happen.
Last week wasn’t Igo’s first appearance on “World of Dance” — far from it. She not only competed in season one, she was the runner-up, finishing close behind champions Les Twins from the Upper Division. Does that give her an advantage this year? Maybe not.

“World of Dance” returns for season two on Tuesday May 29 with a one-hour premiere on NBC beginning at 10 p.m. Et/Pt. All three judges from season one – Jennifer Lopez, Emmy-winning choreographer Derek Hough and Grammy-winning singer Ne-Yo — are back as is host Jenna Dewan. And, as with last year, the contestants come from all over the world to compete with an unlimited range of dance, including hip-hop, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom and stomping.
However, there are several format changes to the show. The number of episodes is upped to 16, from last year’s 10. That will put the show on the same schedule as its lead-in, “America’s Got Talent.” And the competitors are now divided into four divisions: Junior, Junior Team, Upper, Upper Team.
Each of the judges gets up to 100 points to award across these five criteria: performance, technique, choreography, creativity, and presentation. To move to the next round,...

It was just under a year ago that Farmer came to fame on “Agt.” She was a sensation from the start, getting yes votes from all four judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B in her audition. The latter was so impressed that she pushed her Golden Buzzer sending Farmer straight through to the live shows.

For Jennifer Lopez, spending seven years as a judge on talent competition shows hasn’t just been about mentoring young performers, but also about improving herself.
The star, who spent five years on the “American Idol” judging panel, is now on the second season of her show “World of Dance,” for which she is a judge and executive producer.
“I love mentoring, I love being part of someone’s journey in that way, and I also learn so much from watching and analyzing performances all the time,” Lopez told Variety during the show’s press day earlier this year. “I feel like it’s made me a better singer, dancer, performer, entertainer myself. I feel like I’ve grown leaps and bounds since ‘American Idol’ just because of that — because when you start picking things apart you’re like ‘Oh, I do that.’”

The history of the “Untitled Milli Vanilli Movie” has been almost as much of a roller coaster ride as the duo’s infamous career. The latest roadblock for the biopic, which dates back to a 2007 screenplay by fan Jeff Nathanson, who wanted to direct the film himself, was the demise of Brett Ratner’s $450 million co-financing deal with Warner Bros. for his RatPac Entertainment, which the studio officially announced it wouldn’t renew on April 10. The company was responsible for some of the studio’s biggest hits last year, including “Wonder Woman,” “It,” “Dunkirk” and “The Lego Batman Movie.”
Ratner was set to take the director’s chair for the proposed $20-30 million production, helming his first project since 2014’s “Hercules.” Shooting was planned for both Berlin and Los Angeles, but once Ratner became the subject of sexual harassment accusations late last year, the momentum stopped.

“I started out as a producer on this show; I was never meant to be a judge,” reveals Jennifer Lopez about her red-hot reality TV show “World of Dance,” which returns for Season 2 on May 29. “We were trying to find the perfect panel, ’cause coming from ‘American Idol‘ I knew how important that was. We started producing the show and putting it together, and then almost like a month or two before we started, [NBC] was like, ‘You know who’s the perfect person for this?!'” Watch our exclusive video interview with Lopez above.
“I wasn’t sure it was the right time” to return to a judging panel, Lopez readily admits about appearing on camera in addition to her duties as a producer. “I didn’t want to go back into judging so quickly. I had my series [‘Shades of Blue’] and I had some movies that were coming up.
