Right, let me paint a picture that many people would be familiar with… Let’s imagine that last night you hosted one of the best parties ever or you had a group of friends over to watch your favourite sporting event. I for one think that no gathering is complete with some good food, whether that is homemade or takeaway but the problem is that whenever I order food my eyes are Always bigger than my stomach and I always ended up with leftovers that oftentimes are just thrown into the bin! Not only is that a total waste of money but is also so incredibly bad for the environment! However shows like Best Leftovers Ever are here to offer helpful tips and tricks to reduce food waste and help reduce any damage caused to the environment.

Thrillist, the Group Nine Media-owned digital media brand dedicated to food and travel, has tendered its first-ever IP acquisition of YouTube star Timothy DeLaGhetto’s one-year-old Send Foodz series.

To mark the release of Gook on 9th April, we’ve been given a copy to give away on DVD.
April 1992: South Central Los Angeles. Eli and Daniel, two Korean-American brothers, struggle to keep their late-fathers shoe store in business in the La neighbourhood of Paramount. Two months behind on rent and indebted to various gangs, the job is only made better by the store’s unofficial third employee, Kamilla, a streetwise 11-year-old African American girl with whom the pair have formed an unlikely friendship.
Kamilla ditches school, Eli stresses over the shop, and Daniel seemingly has his head in the clouds. It’s just another typical day until the Rodney King verdict is read and riots break out. As chaos moves towards them and tensions escalate, the trio are forced to defend the store, witnessing events that will make them contemplate both the future of their own personal...

Comic vignettes lead to tragedy in the Korean-American actor/director’s fictional reworking of a real 1991 shooting
Justin Chon is the Korean-American actor and comic who had a returning role in the Twilight franchise; he here directs and stars in a punchy, freewheeling movie set around the La riots, shot in black-and-white, with something of Spike Lee’s style. In some ways, it’s a fictional reworking of the real case of Latasha Harlins, an innocent black teenager shot dead by a Korean convenience store owner in Los Angeles about the same time as the Rodney King beating.
Chon plays Eli, a young American-Korean guy who runs a shoe store with his brother Daniel (David So). Kamilla (Simone Baker) is an African-American kid who likes hanging out with them, to the rage of her family and particularly her brother, Keith (Curtiss Cook Jr), who is suspicious of the Koreans. A grumpy convenience store owner,...

For Justin Chon, who was recently featured in the iTunes Filmmaker Spotlight, getting the deeply personal and unique “Gook” (click here to watch the film) made was a triumph. But seeing it in competition at Sundance 2017, where it won the Audience Award and also received a a nomination for a Film Independent Spirit Award, proved that his vision resonated with audiences.
“You always hope that people connect with whatever film that you’re making at the time, but it’s hard and rare to make a film that actually does that,” Chon, who wrote, directed, and stars in the film, tells IndieWire. It’s usually a wish and a hope but you never expect the outcome, so it’s just a really amazing, fulfilling surprise that people connect to the film and that it even got into Sundance.

Kevin Hart is betting that a combination of laughs, celebrity, diversity, and polish can be the formula for a winning video platform. Laugh Out Loud (Lol), a platform co-launched by Hart and the production company Lionsgate, has arrived. At launch, its lineup includes seven original programs, which feature performers like Hart, GloZell, King Bach, Dormtainment, and David So.
Laugh Out Loud is using a similar distribution strategy as Go90. While its videos are available online via its website, they are also designed to be easily digestible on mobile devices, with apps for both iOS and Android available. On its social channels, which have already racked up millions of followers, Lol will promote its content.
While Lol offers access to comedy films like Spaceballs and the back catalogs of TV shows like Def Comedy Jam, its bread-and-butter looks to be original content. The seven originals it has rolled out so far look to be of high-quality,...

It was such a beautiful day. In our exclusive clip from Gook, 11-year-old Kamilla (Simone Baker) helps out the brothers Eli (Justin Chon) and Daniel (David So) during a busy day at the shoe store they own. The scene has a cheerful, fun energy to it, the camera moving around in rhythm with the brothers calling out model numbers to Kamila, who then knows which shoes to grab for the neighborhood customers. The moment becomes poignant in memory later on in the day, when developments take place that will shake everyone in the store and far beyond. Here's the official synopsis: Gook takes place on April 29, 1992 -- the day the La riots started and the day the Rodney King verdicts were announced. Eli...

"Yo, what does that even mean?" Samuel Goldwyn has debuted a full-length official trailer for the film titled Gook, which is a derogatory slang word in America used to describe Asians. This is yet another excellent trailer to follow-up the first one, making me seriously interested in this. The film is directed by Korean American filmmaker/actor Justin Chon, and is about two Korean American kids living in Los Angeles in the early 1990s. It's set against the backdrop of the infamous L.A. Riots during 1992. Starring Justin Chon and David So, as well as Simone Baker, Curtiss Cook Jr., Sang Chon, Omono Okojie, Ben Munoz, Cesar Garcia, Isaiah Jarel, and Kirlew Vilbon. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year, where it won the Audience Award in the low budget Next section. This is worth a look. Watch below. The provocatively-titled Gook, written and directed by Justin Chon, boasts a solid, socially-minded premise: set at the beginning of the L.A. riots in the spring of 1992, two Korean-American brothers own and run a fledging shoe store while maintaining a somewhat-complicated relationship with a young African-American girl. Chon pulls triple duty, also starring as Eli, older brother to Daniel (David So). Eli constantly pushes for the shoe store to survive, a responsibility handed down to him from their father. Daniel could care less, far more concerned with recording his demo and becoming a R&B star.
Kamilla (Simone Baker) skips school to hang with Eli and Daniel and help in the store, something she keeps from her brother Keith (Curtiss Cook, Jr.), who harbors deep resentment for the brothers. Filmed in black-and-white, Chon’s Diy feature recalls the films of Sundance past. From an aesthetic and setting similar to Kevin Smith...

Each Jumpcut Academy lesson is broken down across multiple videos, with the platform’s founding stars showing up to offer tips in their personal areas of expertise. David So, for example, uses his experience with digital comedy to teach students how to make a winning vlog. After a brief introduction, he offers paying subscribers more than 40 minutes of instruction, covering every corner of the vlogosphere.
Jumpcut Academy is reminiscent of the YouTube Creator Academy, a service launched in 2013 that also provides videomaking tips for aspiring creators.
