Kelly Rowland knows she's a superstar. On Nov. 16, fans of the "Dilemma" singer were quick to come to her defense after a radio host suggested that she "played second" fiddle to Beyoncé at the start of her career during her Destiny's Child days. "You were with Beyoncé, and not only did you not fight [her being in the spotlight], it seems like you really loved the position that you were in and took it seriously," "Hot 97" host Peter Rosenberg told Rowland earlier this week. In response to implications that her music career paled in comparison to Beyoncé's from the start, the singer set the record straight with a beautiful response.
"Here's the thing: light attracts light. I am light. I am a beautiful brown shining light."

Kelly Rowland doesn’t have time for anyone trying to compare her to her Destiny’s Child bandmate and best friend Beyoncé.
Rowland recently appeared on Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning”, when co-host Peter Rosenberg started talking about ego in the showbiz industry.
“Everyone who gets in the entertainment business gets into it to be ‘the man,'” he said, admitting you have to have “an ego check” at times, “and you happen to be standing next to the brightest light on planet Earth,” referencing Bey.
Rosenberg insisted it seemed like she loved the position she was in, to which Rowland politely shut him down.
The musician shared, “Here’s the thing, light attracts light. I am light. I am a beautiful, brown, shining light. So I don’t think anybody’s light dims anyone else’s.”

Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” Kicked Out of Grammy Rap Category, Will Compete in Pop (Exclusive)
Click here to read the full article.
Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” is spending its eighth week on top of Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart, but at the Grammys, the song will compete in the pop category.
Minaj originally submitted the track — which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in August — to the rap categories at the Grammys, but the decision was overturned by the Recording Academy’s rap committee, according to a source. That group determined that Minaj’s playful and pop-sounding song sampling Rick James’ 1981 classic “Super Freak” should compete for best pop solo performance instead of rap awards.
Minaj criticized the decision on social media Thursday in an Instagram video post and a series of tweets. “They stay moving the goalposts when it comes to me,” Minaj said on Ig about the academy. “Why is the goalpost only ever moved when it’s Nicki?...

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith has a reputation for shooting from the hip with outrageous takes on sports issues. Today, he turned the attention on himself, candidly admitting his role in having First Take co-host Max Kellerman removed from the show.
First Take is one of the highest-rated ESPN shows, although its audience has dwindled since Skip Bayless left for Fox in 2016. The Smith-Kellerman marriage resulted from that, but apparently soured over the long term, according to Smith, who talked to Hot 97 radio’s Ebro Darden and Peter Rosenberg..
“The rumor’s accurate in terms of me wanting him off the show,” Smith said of Kellerman. It “was not a great partnership anymore and that was something that needed to change.”
Smith felt that the team had hit a wall.
