Scott Day grew up in Colac and later moved to Lara, Victoria. Day excelled at school, graduating in 2013. From a very young age, they showed a keen interest in filmmaking and animation specifically, making animated short films when they were 10 and 11 years old.
They attended the Victorian College of the Arts where they studied Screenwriting, graduating in 2024. Their previous works include the documentary short
Transition (2014), the animated sci-fi comedy short film
Everyone's a Robot (2019), and the mystery comedy feature film
Wanda and Sully (2023) which will be broadcast on Australian television network Channel 9 in 2025. They are writing an episode of the RMITV series
First Run (2024) which was broadcast on Channel 31 in April 2024.
Day's preferred writing style belongs in the absurdist fiction genre. Their biggest influences are
Charlie Kaufman and
Franz Kafka.
