The last time we saw the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Since then, the character has been noticeably absent from the big screen. While it’s clear that a solo Hulk project isn’t on the horizon, rumors have been swirling about Bruce Banner’s potential appearance in Captain America: Brave New World.
These speculations gained traction after Mark Ruffalo himself hinted at being involved with the movie before quickly backtracking, claiming he was mistaken.
Marvel Studios recently revealed a list of cast members set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Some names, like Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, were anticipated, given the Fantastic Four’s history with Doctor Doom.

However, other announcements came as a surprise, such as almost the entire Thunderbolts* cast (excluding Taskmaster) joining the film.

Actors don’t always meet the real-life figures they portray, but Barry Keoghan (Saltburn) got to do just that when he hung out with Ringo Starr. The actor is set to play the iconic drummer in Sam Mendes’ The Beatles — A Four Film Cinematic Event alongside Harris Dickinson (Babygirl) as John Lennon, Paul Mescal (Gladiator II) as Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) as George Harrison.
Keoghan appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and confirmed that he’d met with Starr after he was cast in the role. “It was one of those moments where you’re just in awe and just froze,” he said. “And when I was talking to him, I couldn’t look at him. I was nervous, like right now. He said, ‘You can look at me.’ And again — you’re playing Ringo Starr. My job is to observe and take in kind of mannerisms and study,...

Barry Keoghan is learning to follow the beat of his own drum as he prepares to portray Ringo Starr.
The Oscar nominee recently confirmed he’s been brushing up his percussion skills as he detailed his meeting with the Beatles drummer after being cast to play Starr in the upcoming four-part biopic about the legendary British rock band from director Sam Mendes.
“I met him at his house and he played the drums for me,” revealed Keoghan on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “He asked me to play, but I wasn’t playing the drums for Ringo.”
Following the news of his casting in November, Keoghan said it was Starr who “let the news out. He was like, ‘Barry is somewhere doing drums. I think he should stop and not do anymore.’ But he leaked the news.”

Who wouldn’t be nervous to meet Ringo Starr?
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Barry Keoghan admitted he was so nervous he “couldn’t look” at the legendary drummer when he met him “the other day” as he prepares to portray Starr in the upcoming Beatles biopics.
“It was sort of one of those moments where you’re in awe and you’re just frozen,” he said of the visit to Starr’s home, where the musician even “played the drums for” the actor.
Host Jimmy Kimmel proceeded to ask if the Saltburn star deliberately watched how Starr played the drums to help with his preparations.
“Yeah, I was…. And when I was talking to him, I couldn’t look at him. I was nervous, like right now. He said, ‘You can look at me,'” Keoghan recalled. “And again — you’re playing Ringo Starr. My job...

As exciting as it was to see Marvel Studios reveal the cast of Avengers: Doomsday at the end of March, even more intriguing for fans was who didn't get a mention.
There was no Hugh Jackman, Tom Holland, Ryan Reynolds, or Elizabeth Olsen (to name just a handful of absentees), prompting speculation about whether they're being kept under wraps or perhaps saved for Avengers: Secret Wars.
Comic Con Liverpool has announced that Captain Marvel star Brie Larson is the headline guest at its November show, leaving many to wonder whether the Oscar-winner will be in the UK at the time to shoot Avengers: Doomsday.
Adding further fuel to the fire is the fact that pretty much the entire Ahsoka cast attended last weekend's Comic Con Liverpool event, and they're all currently in the UK working on season 2.
While it may be a coincidence, it does seem likely that Larson will...

H.E.R.B.I.E. is one of the most unexpected additions to The Fantastic Four: First Steps. However, where better to introduce the fan-favourite character than in a retro-futuristic 1960s New York?
A new "Silence Your Cell Phones" PSA is currently playing in theaters, and it sees the loveable robot briefly warn audiences, "You know better." However, that's subtitled, and his speaking voice is a series of computer noises; is this indicative of what we'll see in the movie itself?
If so, this promises to be a very unique voiceover role for General Grievous actor Matthew Wood.
"He’s absolutely as important and as alive as any other member of the cast," The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman recently said of H.E.R.B.I.E. "He’s sometimes a slightly put-upon robot, but he is definitely a member of the family. He’s just so charming and adorable.

Barry Keoghan is preparing to play Ringo Starr in Sam Mendes’ Beatles biopics, but he’s not quite ready to show off his drumming skills.
In an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday night, Keoghan shared that he’s finally met the music legend face to face. “I met him at his house and he played the drums for me,” he said, adding: “He asked me to play, but I wasn’t playing the drums for Ringo.”
The “Saltburn” actor reminded Kimmel that Starr was in fact the one to leak his casting to the press back in November. “He let the news out,” Keoghan said. “He was like, ‘Barry is somewhere doing drums. I think he should stop and not do anymore.'”
Keoghan said meeting Starr was “one of those moments when you’re just in awe” and he “just froze.”

Sam Mendes‘ “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event” is undoubtedly one of the buzziest film projects of the next few years. And now we know who will pen the four upcoming biopics, each centering on a specific Beatles member.
Read More: Introducing Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan & Harris Dickinson As ‘The Beatles’ [CinemaCon]
Deadline reports that Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, and Jack Thorne will write the screenplays for Mendes’ four-film project about the biggest band in pop history. However, it’s unclear if the writers will collaborate on all four films together or work on scripts separately. In any case, there are several Tonys, BAFTAs, and Oscars between the trio, and that should be more than enough to put the rest of Hollywood on notice.

Dakota Johnson has the toughest job in the world for her latest film, “Materialists”: The actress has to decide between marrying Chris Evans or Pedro Pascal. The trio lead Celine Song’s sophomore A24 film, which of course is about a love triangle — much like Song’s Oscar-nominated drama “Past Lives.”
The logline for “Materialists” reads: “A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker (Johnson) finds herself torn between the perfect match (Pascal) and her imperfect ex (Evans).” But there are no “Emma” Austenian parallels here: The film is firmly rooted in being an ode to classic 2000s NYC-set romantic dramedies, many of which Evans actually starred in at the time (“What’s Your Number?” remains a criminally underrated Evans performance.)
Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, and Louisa Jacobson co-star in “Materialists.” The trailer also includes an original song by Japanese Breakfast.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently undergoing reshoots in Los Angeles, and Julia Garner has been spotted on set as Shalla-Bal, not the Silver Surfer.
With striking blonde hair and a white dress boasting a cosmic blue pattern, Shalla-Bal is seemingly no longer a Herald of Galactus (or has yet to become one). The actor was shown facing the shoreline before turning around and spreading her arms wide.
It's impossible to say what's happening; this could be a flashback revealing when she became the Silver Surfer or perhaps a scene from the end of the film where she's freed of that burden. It may even be something setting up the events of Avengers: Doomsday, though Garner isn't currently expected to appear in that movie.

According to Deadline, Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari), Peter Straughan (Conclave), and Jack Thorne (Adolescence) have been tapped to write The Beatles — A Four Film Cinematic Event, directed by Sam Mendes. It remains unclear whether each writer will be responsible for a separate film or if they will collaborate across all four installments.

Now that "Thunderbolts*" is out and we're almost done gushing about how great this movie is, it's time to focus on the season 6 premiere of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "The Fantastic Four: First Steps."
We're still a couple months out from the film's release, but "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" has given us plenty to be excited about. For starters, the movie is being directed by Matt Shakman, who previously helmed the wonderful and visually-stunning "WandaVision." Then there's the fact that the film is finally fixing a big Marvel mistake and bringing Galactus into the screen in all its full-body glory. On top of that, every single piece of casting for this movie is phenomenal, from the Fantastic Four themselves being played by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach to Julia Garner portraying Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson voicing Galactus.

Having set himself the unprecedented task of making not one but four interconnected biopics about Liverpudlian lads (and undisputed greatest band of all time) The Beatles, filmmaker Sam Mendes has been working eight days a week to assemble the team to help bring his four film cinematic event to life. And having revealed that Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Harris Dickinson, and Joseph Quinn will be playing the Fab Four at CinemaCon just last month, today Deadline are reporting that a suitably terrific three screenwriters have been brought aboard to pen the movies.
Per Deadline's sources, Adolescence scribe Jack Thorne, Mendes' Spectre collaborator Jez Butterworth, and Oscar-winning Conclave writer Peter Straughan have all come together to tackle the screenplays for the ambitious undertaking, currently somewhat nebulously titled The Beatles — A Four Film Cinematic Event. With a futuristic 1960s-style setting, The Fantastic Four: First Steps looks set to embrace the comics in a big way. In the movie, Marvel's First Family will encounter the Silver Surfer and Galactus, and be joined by their loyal robot helper, H.E.R.B.I.E.
The loveable "Humanoid Experimental Robot, B-Type, Integrated Electronics" has become a mainstay in comics and animation, occasionally serving as a key ally in battle or, more often, Franklin Richards' babysitter.

Cumming continued, “I’m sort of learning these fights and I’m like, ‘What? Who am I fighting with?’ And they said, ‘You’re hitting Pedro Pascal against the head,’ or something.”
Perhaps the Scottish actor was just speaking hypothetically. But with Nightcrawler’s...

Matthew Wood will voice the character H.E.R.B.I.E. in Marvel Studios’ upcoming film The Fantastic Four: First Steps, set to release in theaters on July 25. The announcement came through director Matt Shakman, who discussed the character and Wood’s casting in a recent interview.
H.E.R.B.I.E., a robotic creation of Reed Richards, is presented as a central part of the story. Shakman emphasized the droid’s role as a companion to Richards, portrayed by Pedro Pascal. “He’s absolutely as important and as alive as any other member of the cast,” Shakman said. “He’s sometimes a slightly put-upon robot, but he is definitely a member of the family.”
The director described H.E.R.B.I.E. as Richards’ assistant in both scientific experiments and off-world missions. “He’s Reed’s right hand in the lab, capable of assisting him on any sort of experiment,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps will finally bring H.E.R.B.I.E. to the big screen. Director Matt Shakman told Empire that H.E.R.B.I.E. is just as crucial to the film as Reed (Pedro Pascal), Sue (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny (Joseph Quinn), or Ben (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
“He’s absolutely as important and as alive as any other member of the cast,” Shakman said. “He’s sometimes a slightly put-upon robot, but he is definitely a member of the family. He’s just so charming and adorable. He is really Reed’s right hand in the lab, capable of assisting him on any sort of experiment, always by his side. whether in New York City or out in space.“
Empire also reveals the voice actor behind H.E.R.B.I.E., and it’s one Star Wars fans will almost certainly recognize: Matthew Wood, the sound editor at Skywalker Sound who is best known as the voice of General Grievous.

'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Just Recruited a Star Wars Veteran To Debunk a Major Casting Rumor

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is officially only a few months away, and the most anticipated MCU film of 2025 just got a major update. Empire Magazine unveiled a new image of H.E.R.B.I.E. in the film, and buried in the report was the news that the character will be voiced by Matthew Wood, famous for his work as General Grievous in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The new image of H.E.R.B.I.E. can be found below. This confirmation debunks an extremely popular rumor that Natasha Lyonne would be the voice of H.E.R.B.I.E. in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It remains unclear who Lyonne will play in the film, but she did recently make her animated MCU debut as Byrdie in What If…? Season 3.
The report also includes an interview with director Matt Shakman (WandaVision), who highlights H.E.R.B.I.E.’s importance to the team. He’s the perfect assistant...

You probably know the members of The Fantastic Four. There’s Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, the stretchy one. There’s Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, the invisible one. You have Joseph Quinn as her brother Johnny Storm, the fiery one. And Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, the… well, the thingy one. But you might not know their ‘Fifth Beatle’, so to speak. Make way for H.E.R.B.I.E., the Reed Richards-created adorable android, a companion and collaborator to the main four who’s about to make a big impact in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Marvel Studios delivered plenty of exciting surprises during the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal, including the return of some familiar faces from 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise. There were some huge omissions, though, and even with production underway, it feels like this ensemble is far from complete.
While Kevin Feige has confirmed it wasn't the full cast, one of the most disappointing omissions was Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox.

Cameras are now rolling on Avengers: Doomsday, and while we have yet to see any revealing set photos, a recent report claimed that scenes are being filmed at "an under-attack" X-Mansion.
Now, scooper Mttsh is reporting that a fight scene involving Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) facing off against Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen) is currently being shot.
These characters have crossed paths a number of times in the comics, and while a few harsh words have been spoken, they usually regard each other with a sense of mutual respect. Magneto is an incredibly powerful mutant, and one might assume his ability to control metal would give him an advantage over the fully armoured Doom. However, the Fantastic Four villain's mastery of various magical arts would likely make things very difficult for Mags.
Unfortunately, security has been very tight around the set, so we may not get to see any of the actors filming their scenes.

The latest addition in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thunderbolts*, just reached theatres last weekend – but the next entry in the franchise isn’t far off, as The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to reach theatres on July 25th. Coinciding with the release of Thunderbolts*, Marvel unveiled a batch of The Fantastic Four: First Steps character posters, and you can check them out at the bottom of this article! The upcoming movie has a “retro-futuristic” style, so it makes sense that these character posters have a retro style to them. They’re meant to look like the classic pack of trading cards that would come with a brittle stick of gum.
There have been several attempts to bring the Fantastic Four to the screen over the years, to varying levels of success. Roger Corman produced a low budget adaptation of the comic book back in 1994, but it was never officially released.

Marvel Studios has left Galactus mostly hidden in trailers for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but keeping promo art under wraps has always been a near-impossible task for Kevin Feige and company.
We recently got a blurry first look at Ralph Ineson's Eater of Worlds, and a clearer shot of the artwork has now revealed the English actor's take on Galactus in all his gigantic glory. That suit is mighty impressive—and comic accurate—and Ineson's likeness is unmistakable beneath the villain's iconic helmet.
Based on comments from filmmaker Matt Shakman, Galactus will be brought to life in The Fantastic Four: First Steps through a combination of practical costume effects and VFX.
Talking about being cast in the role, Ineson previously said, "It was really humbling. When they announced that, I was like, 'How is that going to go down?' because there were a lot of big names that had been attached.

Avengers: Doomsday started shooting in the UK earlier this week, and the cast just assembled for a screening of Thunderbolts*.
Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu was the first to share a photo on social media, and fans were quick to point out that he's likely revealed Robert Downey Jr.'s look for his role as the McU's Victor Von Doom.
The actor—thankfully—isn't rocking Tony Stark's trademark goatee and instead has short grey hair and no beard whatsoever. Of course, if the Russo Brothers are doing it right, we either won't see Doctor Doom's face or, if we do, it will be hideously scarred.
However, if Doom wins the day, then he may heal his face and unmask in Avengers: Secret Wars. That would differ from the comics where, even as "God" on Battleworld, he was unable to fix his scars, with Mister Fantastic doing so when he put the Multiverse back together.

The Avengers have assembled once again — well, some of them.
Marvel star Robert Downey Jr. posted a photo with some of his fellow cast members from next year’s major tentpole “Avengers: Doomsday” to watch the latest MCU movie, “Thunderbolts*,” all together.
“Just wow!!! Dinner and a show with the Old Avengers. So cool, fresh, and deep. Big congrats to the New Avengers (and Bob). #Thunderbolts,” Downey wrote on Friday, ahead of the opening weekend for “Thunderbolts*.” He and his cast mates all made T’s with their hands in honor of the new Thunderbolts team.

It's nice when the lads go for a night out on a Friday, isn't it? That's exactly what one of the most star-studded screenings you could imagine at an impromptu time has given us, as Simu Liu and a few mates went down to the pictures for a screening of Thunderbolts*, the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Who did he go with, you ask? We'll fill you in. First of all, there's Winston Duke, Paul Rudd and Channing Tatum. Pretty good, right? Anthony Mackie was there too. Captain America likes a good flick, after all. Chris Hemsworth and his giant arms tagged along and, oh, who's that at the back? It's Doctor Doom himself, Robert Downey Jr. looking distinctly... unlike Tony Stark.

Marvel Studios has shared five new character posters for The Fantastic Four: First Steps in the style of retro trading cards (back when they used to come with a free stick of gum).
The artwork spotlights Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning) as Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.
We also get a new look at H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot, whose voice actor - if he even has one - has not been disclosed.
Check out the artwork at the links below, along with a preview video.
Please welcome the Fantastic Four!
Experience Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* in #4Dx in select Regal theaters this Friday and get an exclusive collectible card pack for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Last month, the Marvel Studios social media accounts started live-streaming a video they labeled as an all-caps Announcement. The video showed a soundstage where, one by one, chairs reserved for actors were revealed, with a new chair coming into view every 10 minutes or so. As it turns out, this was a very long and slow way of revealing (a large chunk of) the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, which is now in production and aiming for a May 1, 2026 theatrical release. The names of twenty-seven cast members were shown that day, with Marvel teasing, “There’s always room for more…” With cameras now rolling, we’ve been waiting to see if they’ll announce the rest of the cast list with more chair backs, or they’ll find a different way to do it. And while we wait, industry journalist Jeff Sneider of The InSneider has been sent a list that his...

This year's most unlikely team of superheroes have arrived on the silver screen but it won't be long until another iconic team makes its presence felt on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thunderbolts* has arrived in movie theaters around the world and it promises to be one heck of a fun time, setting the stage for the next chapter of the franchise - a more positive one, hopefully - by being a good old-fashioned standalone thriller of a superhero movie.
Thunderbolts* has been receiving a litany of extremely positive reviews, with some calling it one of the best Marvel movies ever made. It's a win that the Marvel Studios franchise needed after a number of misses throughout the past few years and it has set the standard very high for what is going to be a string of major consecutive releases over the next few years.
Speaking of that, it won't...
