Was the coach for St. John's University Basketball teams in the 1920's and 30's.
Retired from coaching in 1973 from South Carolina after 10 years. He continued to attend the
games as a special consultant and adviser to Frank McGuire.
Became Head Coach at St. John's after he graduated from there in 1927. He had coached the team
to 179 wins in 211 games when he left in 1936.
Was an assistant to Frank McGuire at the University of North Carolina and the University of South Carolina.
North Carolina won the National Collegiate Championship in 1957 while he was there.
