Born 1989 in Berlin, Germany, Eric Sonnenburg got into filmmaking at an early age, with his professional life taking shape in 2011 after a couple of internships as a production assistant followed by his full-time employment at the Production Company Lopta Film GmbH. In the following years Eric worked on many short films, music videos, image films and commercials by becoming the line producer of Lopta Film after he had produced the western short film "a time of vultures" directed by Adolfo J. Kolmerer. Later on he helped director Steffen Hacker with his most-ambitious Indie-Feature "Ingenium", which was over 6 years in the making.
In 2014 Eric went ahead to study at the renowned Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, where he received the VGF-scholarship for aspiring young producers and where he found the fire in his belly for outstanding European Genrefilms, majoring 2019 in film and tv production with special emphasis on International Producing.
Separate and in addition to his studies, Eric would produce Adolfo J. Kolmerer's critically-acclaimed indie-feature Snowflake. The film premiered on international festivals in late 2017. The Film received over 28 nominations and won 14 Awards so far including four Audience Awards, Jury Awards for Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Breakthrough & Best Directing.
After that he produced the german adventure-feature "the Witch and the Ottoman", which is set for it's release in late 2019 and which led to a strong relationship as well with the Production Company Mavie Films, where he is now featured as an official freelance Producer.
Now Eric is working as an freelance Producer for Feature Films & Advertisement in Berlin, Germany.
