- Growing up in an Air Force family, Ken traveled extensively in his youth and developed a love for reading and architecture, prompting him to pursue a career in landscape architecture. After creating a successful design business, Ken turned his attention to his first love, screen-writing.
Early in his writing career, placing in a prestigious screen-writing competition afforded confidence and encouragement. Ken has worked with mentors Joe Bratcher of Twin Bridges Screenwriting Salon, and Mario Moreno of The Writers Store.
Ken's screenplays and completed films have received excellent reviews from The Dove Foundation, earning their highest ratings for family-friendly audiences.
Ken has completed twelve feature screenplays and had four award-winning feature films (A HORSE FOR SUMMER, THE SPARROWS: NESTING, SAVED BY GRACE, and FISHES 'N LOAVES), three theatrical trailers, and two award-winning short films produced, as well as completing four writer-for-hire assignments. A fifth film, "The Robinsons," is in pre-production in October, 2015.
Most recently, Ken was named 2014-2015 Writer of the Year at the Action on Film International Film Festival and is included in the upcoming book "The Top 50 Indy Screenwriters in the World." Ken's first script, "Drum," an action/romance feature, was a winner in the highly regarded Industry Insider contest co-sponsored by The Writers' Store and producer Simon Kinberg.
Ken has completed more than two dozen feature screenplays and had (6) award-winning feature films (A HORSE FOR SUMMER, THE SPARROWS: NESTING, SAVED BY GRACE, ANOTHER TANGO, RUNNIN' FROM MY ROOTS, and FISHES 'N LOAVES), and two award-winning short films produced, as well as completing four writer-for-hire assignments, including screenplay adaptations for producers Jason Blumenthal (Seven Pounds, Pursuit of Happyness) and David L. Snyder (Blade Runner).
Three additional projects are currently in pre-production, including "The Robinsons," a family adventure film for Harvey Lowry and Ascension Media, and "A Mother's Lies" for Reel One Entertainment.
Most of Ken's writing focuses on family-friendly fare, with each of his projects to date earning the highest ratings from The Dove Organization for family viewing.
