This Halloween season, Lifetime unveils “Truly Unbelievable Movies,” a Ripped from the Headlines Event featuring a slate of seven new original movies featuring top talent.
All produced earlier this year, the lineup includes Lifetime’s milestone 500th original movie, the two-night event Murdaugh Murders: The Movie starring Bill Pullman as Alex Murdaugh who, on the surface is a prominent and respected South Carolina lawyer, loving husband and father but behind closed doors, lived a drug-filled secret life that ultimately led to murder.
The event officially kicked off on September 17, and brand new original movies will debut on Saturdays at 8p/7c from now through October 28, 2023.

Exclusive: Just days after a federal jury in Brooklyn, NY convicted Nxivm leader Keith Raniere of seven counts of racketeering and sex trafficking, Lifetime has announced a new movie about the case for its upcoming ripped-from-the-headlines slate from Sony Pictures TV. The Nxivm Cult: A Mother’s Nightmare (working title) centers on the true story of Catherine Oxenberg and her fight to save her daughter India from the dangerous sex cult. It’s set to debut this fall.
Oxenberg, whose daughter India was one of Raniere’s victims, is portrayed in the movie by Andrea Roth (Rescue Me) and executive produces. Peter Facinelli (Twilight) stars as Raniere, the charming and charismatic secret organization leader with devious motives. Jasper Polish (Devil’s Whisper) portrays India and Sara Fletcher (Secret Girlfriend) is actress Allison Mack, Keith’s associate in the cult.

We have some good news for our Canadian readers. The Mary Kills People TV show has been renewed for a third and final season on Global. While Lifetime hasn't yet announced it has renewed Mary Kills People for season three, that does not mean it is cancelled. Last year, although the Global renewal was announced on June 5th, Lifetime didn't announce until July 28th.
