Despite reports that audiences are losing interest in sex scenes, the Netflix viewership charts are preaching the opposite. A Brazilian erotic thriller called "Burning Betrayal" recently hit the streaming platform, and is popping up on the top 10 charts across the globe. Perhaps it's the result of "Fair Play" dominating the charts at the end of September 2023, motivating viewers to look for even more tantalizing thrills. "Burning Betrayal" more than delivers on eroticism, as the first five minutes of the film boldly features graphic sex scenes, presented in a way that tricks the brain into thinking they might not be simulated.
Directed by Diego Freitas ("Beyond the Universe") and adapted from Sue Hecker's novel "O Lado Bom de Ser Traída" (rough translation: "The Good Side of Being Betrayed"), the film follows Babi (Giovanna Lancellotti), a successful accountant soon to be married, but feeling like she hasn't yet lived her life.

“Burning Betrayal” is a Brazilian movie directed by Diego Freitas and written by Sue Hecker. It stars Giovanna Lancellotti and Leandro Lima.
Do you fancy an erotic thriller? This movie has a bit of both, without leaning excessively on the erotic element – though, it does have its spicy scenes – nor being tremendously suspenseful to qualify as a great thriller. Its peculiarity lies on its comedic touch, bringing about a combination that is quite entertaining. We don’t know which side outweighs the other.
Plot
Babi has a perfect life and has carefully prepared for adulthood, leaving behind her beloved motorcycle and her youthful life. All for a guy, a young and handsome lawyer. Unfortunately, Babi discovers his infidelity and, naturally, gets angry.

Rich in Love was an endearing tale of a rich brat finding his foothold in the world of agriculture and wanting to earn his place instead of having everything handed to him on a platter. It was a delightful movie about how two different people from two different lifestyles can get along and find common ground when it comes to relationships and work. Though the first film was all about love, the second film came nowhere close to how charming the first one was. Rich in Love 2 is just another sequel that disappoints. Directed by Bruno Garotti again, this Brazilian Netflix original had nothing going on, and here is why:
Rich in Love 2 begins where the first film ended. Teto and his partners are running the co-op Teto Fresco, which grows premium organic tomatoes on rooftops, but currently, it is not as profitable as it was a few years ago.

Netflix commemorated five years of local production releases in Brazil last November announcing a drive into production outside the country’s two traditional powerhouse bases of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Last week, Netflix Brazil revealed more productions set across the country’s vast terrain to bring compelling and fresh narratives to the platform.
“Ricos de Amor” relocates to Northern Brazil for a second season. Produced by São Paulo’s Prodigo Films, “Invisible City,” the first live action title from “Ice Age” creator Carlos Saldanha, has direction and production teams working out of Belém, Pará, in northern-most Brazil.
“This is a very special series, with diverse artists, with accents from all over Brazil,” said Lucy Alves of “Só Se For Por Amor,” in which she stars. “When we see something this big being done in the countryside we identify a lot… it’s immediate,” she added.

"Our oceans sustain all life on Earth — now they need us to protect them." Aardman Animations has made a new short film for Greenpeace titled Turtle Journey, a family roadtrip short about a family of sea turtles heading home and discovering changes on the way back. It's sad what we've done to destroy the oceans. The short is attached to a petition for Us audiences to reach out to Evan Bloom, the State Department Director of Ocean and Polar Affairs, to agree to action on the United Nation's plans for an intragovernmental Global Ocean Treaty. Whatever we can do to make difference. The film was created by Greenpeace and Aardman, along with special guests Jim Carter, Olivia Colman, David Harbour, Giovanna Lancellotti, Helen Mirren, and Bella Ramsey. And remember: we can't change the past. But we can demand a better future. Thanks to io9 for the tip on this one.
