The Glasgow Film Festival has chosen nine creative projects to take part in its new comedy lab. Called Funny Features, the program aims to help independent filmmakers launch new comedy films and TV shows.

The projects were picked from applications across the United Kingdom. They will get money and support over the next year to develop their ideas. Filmmakers will meet with industry experts. They will learn skills like pitching their work to studios.

One project is called “Committed.” Writer Philip Wright’s story follows a character struggling with mental health issues in a hospital. Another is “Mister Uterus” by Jason Barker. It explores what masculinity means through a transgender man’s unexpected pregnancy. A third selected project is “Hundreds and Thousands.” This comedy by Rhys Aaron Lewis and Adley Lewis is about an ice cream business that sparks rivalries.

Glasgow Film Festival’s UK-wide comedy lab Funny Features has selected nine projects for its inaugural edition, running now until next year’s festival.

Projects include mental health comedy Committed, written by Philip Wright and produced by 2022 Screen Rising Star Scotland Reece Cargan. The project follows a one-man trainwreck as he rebels against his sectioning in a psychiatric hospital.

Angela Kukawski, a business manager whose clients include the Kardashians, has died at the age of 55 after what police have deemed a homicide. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, authorities have launched an investigation after Kukawski was found dead inside of her car on Dec. 23 in Simi Valley, Calif. In a press release, police said that Kukawski had been reported missing on Dec. 22. Investigators believe she was killed by her 49-year-old boyfriend, Jason Barker, at their Sherman Oaks home before her body was transported to Simi Valley in her vehicle, the release stated. Angela Kukawski, a business manager who worked with members of the Kardashian family, was found dead inside her car on December 23, according to a statement today from the Los Angeles Police Department. Kukawski, who worked at Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, was 55.

Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau Homicide arrested Kukawski’s boyfriend, 49-year-old Jason Barker, on suspicion of murder. The Office of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon has filed murder charges against Barker, said the LAPD statement. He remains jailed in lieu of $3 million bail, according to inmate records.

Angela “Angie” Kukawski, a business manager in Los Angeles whose clients have included Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, was found dead after an apparent homicide.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Kukawski’s death in a statement shared on social media. She had been reported missing on Dec. 22 from Sherman Oaks neighborhood of L.A., and the following day she was discovered dead in her car nearly 30 miles away in Simi Valley.
