This may be the season that CSI: Vegas finally stands on its own two feet.
In its first two seasons, this hybrid has faced a difficult challenge. It's not a revival of the popular series, which ran for 15 seasons on CBS. It isn't a reboot, with new characters repopulating an old concept.
Instead, in its first two seasons, CSI: Vegas has featured a couple of legacy characters to draw in viewers of the original series.
In CSI: Vegas Season 1, power couple Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) returned to clear the lab's reputation and former lab rat David Hodges (Wallace Langham) from a well-crafted frame.
Meanwhile, seemingly in the background, the lab's new criminologists solved the day-to-day cases.
What Were the Highlights of CSI: Vegas Season 2?
The second season struck a better balance between new and old. It almost had to.
The return of Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) was well handled.

If you thought that CBS’ CSI: Vegas was done with Greg Sanders so soon, rest assured that there is more of CSI vet Eric Szmanda to come.
Szmanda — who has more than 330 episodes of the Og CSI under his belt — marked his return to the franchise amidst the emotionally charged March 30 episode that guest-starred Regina Taylor. But Greg will be seen at least two more times, in the episodes airing this Thursday, April 13 (in which the team investigates a bomb that detonated at a masquerade party for wealthy casino investors) and then May 4.

YouTube Premium’s longest-running series is back.
The fourth-season trailer for racy comedy Foursome dropped this week, and while it’s still packed full of YouTube talent like leading lady Jenn McAllister (3.4 million subscribers) and Rickey Thompson, the hit show’s next installment is noticeably absent Logan Paul, who played McAllister’s overbearing older brother Alec for the first three seasons. Paul was cut from the series in January following his widely-criticized video showing a dead body in Japan's Aokigahara forest.
Foursome follows four friends through the trials and tribulations of being teenagers. In this latest season, set to premiere on Oct. 24, the Og foursome reunites for one last epic summer together before some of them graduate, leaving McAllister’s character to face her junior and senior years of high school alone.

The first trailer has been released for the Scooby-Doo spinoff film Daphne & Velma. This is a live-action film tells the story of Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley before they team up with Scooby-Doo and the rest of the Mystery Inc. gang. The movie looks incredibly silly, but the market for it is little girls. This is something my own kids would enjoy watching, but me? Not so much. Here's the synopsis:
The mystery-solving teens are best friends but have only met online — until Daphne transfers to Velma’s school, Ridge Valley High, stocked with high-tech gadgetry by the school’s benefactor, tech billionaire Tobias Bloom. While their peers vie for a coveted internship at Bloom’s company, Daphne and Velma try to uncover the reason why the school’s brightest students are disappearing — only to emerge again in a zombie-fied state.

Even in high schools where uniforms are not required, students tend to dress alike, usually in jeans. Kids on teams tend to wear their sport uniforms, and there are always the few Goths in black.
But most high schools do not have students dressing up as much as they do in Disney Channel's new comedy "I Didn't Do It." The half-hour series follows twins Logan and Lindy (Austin North, Olivia Holt) and their pals in their freshman year of high school. The pilot had them throwing a party when the parents were away.
Sure, the parents hired someone they thought would be a responsible adult to watch the kids. The parents returned to find their home trashed -- a goat munching on mom's wedding gown, a pizza on the ceiling, a pregnant boa in the couch cushions and a baby sitter in her 90s passed out in the hot tub.

Tagging along with the news of Girl Meets World being picked up, the Disney Channel has also ordered a series starring Kickin’ It’s Olivia Holt that will be a riskier sell to audiences, but sounds like it could be a fun, gimmicky show. If paired with Girl Meets World, I think the two could do well together. However, because the new show, I Didn’t Do It, so heavily relies on its gimmick, it could turn stale quickly. But that’s the risk of running a show with a central concept that isn’t likely to waver. It comes down to the writers finding unique ways to tell different stories every week.
In a nutshell, I Didn’t Do It centers on fraternal twins Lindy (Holt) and Logan Watson (Austin North) and their friends as freshmen in high school. Each episode will, according to THR, have a “What just happened?...

Disney Channel has picked up to series comedy pilot I Didn’t Do It starring Olivia Holt (Disney Xd’s Kickin’ It, Disney Channel’s Girl Vs. Monster) and newcomer Austin North (Kickin’ It). Created by Tod Himmel (90210) and Josh Silverstein (So Random!), I Didn’t Do It centers on ultra-competitive fraternal twins Lindy and Logan Watson (Holt, North), who, together with their best friends (Piper Curda, Sarah Gilman, Peyton Clark), navigate their freshman year of high school. Each episode begins with a comedic “what just happened?” situation as Lindy and Logan each spin their own accounts in the form of flashbacks. Production will begin this summer in Los Angeles for a scheduled early 2014 premiere. Himmel and Judd Pillot executive produce, with Silverstein serving as supervising producer. The pickup comes on the heels of Disney Channel’s series order earlier this week to Boy Meets World sequel Girl Meets World.
