Congratulations to Jules O'Dwyer and her loveable border collie Matisse who won Britain's Got Talent last night (May 31). We must admit we came over a tad teary-eyed when Matisse's three-legged collie companion Skippy made his debut in their final act.
Last night's final prompted us to look back at all eight winners from the ITV talent show to see how they faired after their victories.

Britain's Got Talent returns to our small screen on Saturday (April 12), and we've already been treated to a sneak peek at some of the acts we can expect to see on stage during the show's premiere.
But whatever happened to some of the show's most memorable acts from years gone by? What have they gone on to do following their appearance on the ITV talent show, we hear you ponder? Wonder no more with some of Bgt's past performers - from stand-out stars to the plain strange:
Faryl Smith
Mezzo-soprano Faryl Smith - then aged just 12 - blew the judges away and probably made Amanda Holden break down and blub with her beautiful rendition of 'Ava Maria' on the show in 2008.
Following her accomplishment as a finalist on the show, the singer signed a contract with Universal Classics and Jazz and released her debut album Faryl in March 2009. It went...

So courageous! Susan, the Scottish singing star who was first discovered on ‘Britain’s Got Talent,’ revealed that she has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism, after being told she had brain damage as a child.
Susan Boyle, 52, is known for her beautiful voice and uplifting rise to fame. In a new interview, she inspires her fans even more by sharing that she was bullied by other children when she was young, because of learning difficulties — that she now knows to be Asperger’s syndrome.

The Britain's Got Talent auditions are always a mixed bag when it comes to entertainment. There's only so much that the horsing around of David Walliams and Simon Cowell can do to mask the mediocre talent and predictable sob stories.
However, when it comes to the live semi-finals, the show morphs into an entirely different and much more enjoyable beast. Tears, bust-ups, disastrous novelty acts who don't seem quite so funny second time around and Walliams prancing around Cowell like Frankie Howard on speed.
Unlike The X Factor it is nigh on impossible to predict the results on Britain's Got Talent. Susan Boyle and Ronan Parke looked like dead certs to be singing for the Queen, but came up short in their finals.
And who makes it through from the semi-finals is even harder to predict. The luck of the draw - the first and final heat are usually the...

Simon Cowell has admitted that he is "disappointed" with last year's Britain's Got Talent winner Jai McDowall. The Scottish singer was a surprise victor over Ronan Parke in the final of 2011's show. Speaking following the launch of Britain's Got Talent series six on Friday (January 20), Cowell confessed that he did not see the former support worker as a "genuine star". Jai McDowall Britain's Got Talent
Britain’s Got Talent ended two months ago and we had assumed that Jai McDowall wasn’t going to land that lucrative recording contract that most show stars hope for with Simon Cowell.
However it has been revealed that weeks after signing series runner up Ronan Parke, the music mogul has decided to back winner Jai and offered him a deal with his record label Syco.
The former support worker has been performing solidly ever since he won the ITV talent show in May and is now beginning to prepare for his big performance at the Royal Variety Performance later this year.
However, The Sun has revealed that the 24 year old has also recently started work on his debut album, which will most likely be released in 2012 in a join deal between Syco and Sony Music.

Jai McDowall Britain's Got Talent
It seems that winning Bgt doesn’t always guarantee you’re going to be inundated with offers, as the Daily Star today report that victor Jai McDowall still hasn’t been offered a record deal.

“After the tour I will hopefully sit down with him and discuss what is going to happen.”

In a shock final of the ITV1 show, the Scottish singer beat off stiff competition from 12-year-old favourite Ronan Parke to be crowned champion and take home a prize of £100,000, as well as the opportunity to perform in front of Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Variety Show. After belting out a powerful rendition of Josh Groban's hit 'To Where You Are' to clinch his victory, Jai surprised even the show's judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff - by being announced as the winner. He told hosts Ant and...

Britain's Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke will make around £1.5m by Christmas, it has been predicted. The singer, who finished in second place in last night's final, will be signed to Simon Cowell's Syco label and release an album, the Sunday Mirror reports. Advertisers and promoters are also said to be keen to sign him up. Showbiz agent Jonathan Shalit said: "The natural path will be for Simon's company Syco to throw together an album of cover hits to get it in the shops as soon as possible. Then there are personal and public appearances, commercial deals and endorsements to think about - where Ronan could bring in a lot of money indeed. You're talking hundreds of thousands of pounds. "His story in a book would work (more)...

We said it the last time Jackie Evancho performed publicly, at Oprah Winfrey's farewell: It's hard to fathom such a big (and polished) voice coming from such a small girl.
We'll say it again after watching the 11-year-old sing on Saturday's (June 4) finale of "Britain's Got Talent": She's unbelievable.
Jackie, the runner-up on "America's Got Talent" last year, sang what's become her signature, "Nessun Dorma," on Saturday's "Bgt" finale. Embedding is disabled, but you can watch her here.
The show ended with a surprise winner, as 24-year-old singer Jai McDowall beat out favorite Ronan Parke by a slim margin (2.5 percentage points). The 12-year-old Ronan was the subject of rumors this week that he'd been groomed by "Bgt" creator Simon Cowell before coming on the show. Both have vehemently denied the rumors, and Cowell is exploring legal action.
Ronan probably doesn't need to worry too much about the loss,...

Jai McDowall Britain's Got Talent
Well there we have it folks. This year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent has come to an end and Jai McDowall has been crowned the worthy winner. He will perform on the Royal Variety Show later this year and walks away with the £100,000 prize money.
In the earlier show some people really stepped things up and brought their act to another level – think Ronan Parke, Jai McDowall and Razy Gogonea – but some performers let nerves get the better of them and really disappointed us with their below par performances. We were particularly let down by New Bounce’s song choice and Jean Martyn’s awful singing.
On the results show Ant and Dec took a slightly different approach as they announced the public’s decision and revealed their identities, in the order of how many votes they attracted. So starting with tenth place,...

Simon Cowell took to the air Friday night (June 3) to denounce a report that he has manipulated the results of "Britain's Got Talent."
An anonymous blog post (since taken down) this week claimed that Cowell secretly had 12-year-old "Britain's Got Talent" finalist Ronan Parke under contract for two years, groomed him for his "Bgt" debut this season, then fixed the competition so Parke would win. The writer claimed to be an executive at Sony BMG Music, which has a long-standing relationship with Cowell, and posted his or her claims on a Polish site called JustPaste.it.
Lawyers for Cowell and his company, Syco (which produces "Britain's Got Talent"), have been attempting to track the writer down and have asked London police to investigate the writer for the crime of "malicious communication." On Friday's edition of "Britain's Got Talent," Cowell addressed the rumors. Here's what he said, according to the Daily...

Simon Cowell has strenuously denied rumours that Britain's Got Talent has been fixed for Ronan Parke. Speculation over the fairness of the ITV contest spread when an anonymous blog post claimed that Cowell had signed the 12-year-old singer to his record company Syco. Speaking at the start of Britain's Got Talent's fifth semi-final tonight, the 51-year-old dismissed claims of a previous professional relationship with Parke as "complete and utter lies". He said: "There has been an allegation made on the internet by somebody that Ronan Parke had a previous recording contract with my record label [and] that I've met him beforehand, both of which are (more)...

Ex-Norwich City goalkeeper and manager Bryan Gunn has denied claims that Britain's Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke has been "groomed" for stardom by the show's producers. An anonymous internet post had suggested that Simon Cowell's record label Syco had already signed Parke and prepared him for this year's programme after spotting him perform at Gunn's birthday party two years ago. Gunn, whose children go to school with Ronan, told TalkSport: "There are some malicious lies going around from someone who's obviously got something against Ronan or something against Simon and Syco and put those allegations out there yesterday. "They said it was my birthday party but it was actually my daughter Melissa's 18th birthday party back in 2009, and we certainly didn't have any scouts there from Simon Cowell's company. (more)...

Ronan Parke has laughed off internet claims that he was known to Simon Cowell's company Syco before entering Britain's Got Talent. The 12-year-old impressed the judges and voters on Monday night, when he topped the public vote with a performance of 'Make You Feel My Love' - securing him a place in tomorrow night's final. Syco has already rubbished the blogger's "unfounded" claims, and confirmed that police and lawyers are now dealing with the anonymously-made allegations. "I think it's great that Simon is putting the effort to get the police involved and everything. And I'm happy that they've said it's not true, because it's definitely not," Parke told ITV News this afternoon. "I think it's quite funny if I'm honest, because none of it's true. Simon Cowell's Syco is making "good progress" in uncovering the identity of the person who made claims of an alleged two-year relationship between the company and Britain's Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke. An anonymous blog post suggested that 12-year-old singer Parke had been known to the label for some time. However, Syco/Sony Music strongly denied the allegations in a statement yesterday. "Syco/Sony Music will not hesitate to take whatever legal action is appropriate to prevent further publication of these unfounded allegations," a spokesperson said. Lawyers and police are now dealing with the document as a case of malicious communication and libel, while the German equivalent of the FBI is also involved in the investigation. "There's good progress already," an insider told Digital Spy of (more)...
