Park City Song Summit will return for its third annual event on August 15th-17th. Taking place in Park City, Utah’s across the Canyons Village Amphitheater, Pendry, and Main Street, the music and wellness festival has tapped headliners My Morning Jacket, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and Mavis Staples.
Other performers include Anders Osborne & Jackie Greene, Larkin Poe, Eric Krasno & Friends, Cimafunk, Steve Poltz, Tank and the Bangas, Josh Kelley, and Jobi Riccio. Check out the complete lineup below.
As Pcss founder Ben Anderson told Consequence ahead of last year’s event, the “bread and butter” of the event isn’t the performances, but the panel discussions dubbed Labs. With a focus on mental health in the music industry, these talks aim to give artists a platform to speak on the “healing platform of music — wellness plus music equals better lives,” as Anderson put it.

Under a starry western sky last weekend, Park City Song Summit founder Ben Anderson stood onstage and held court in front of an audience of creatives.
“We’re going to change the legacy and culture of music on this mountain,” Anderson howled into the evening chill, his voice echoing far and wide into the surrounding high-desert peaks of Utah. Then he dove headlong into a rendition of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”
Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, and Anders Osborne all joined Anderson for the tribute, along with a slew of...

Devon Allman and Duane Betts will honor the music their fathers made in The Allman Brothers Band with a tour of the US dubbed the “Allman Betts Family Revival.”
Devon, son of Gregg, and Duane, son of Dickey, will be joined by Anders Osborne, Luther Dickinson, and Cody Dickenson (North Mississippi Allstars); Jimmy Hall; Jackie Greene; Larry McCray; Alex Orbison; and Ally Venable on the tour, which will feature one set of songs written by Gregg Allman and one set of songs written by Dickey Betts. Additionally, The Allman Betts Band will include Tal Wilkenfeld (Jeff Beck), while select dates will include special guests like Sierra Hull and G. Love.
Originally called the “Allman Family Revival,” Devon Allman hosted the first tribute concert in 2017 to mark what would have been Gregg’s 70th birthday (he passed away earlier that year). Since then, the show has transformed into a traveling tour.

For nearly a decade now, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival’s final weekend has gone out with some highly curated shows at the city’s Saenger Theatre. There was the tribute to the Neville Brothers in 2015, a salute to The Band and their “Last Waltz” concert in 2016 and 2021, and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats joining the revered Preservation Hall Jazz Band in 2019. This year, as weekend number two gets underway, it’s the Avett Brothers who will anchor “Second Weekend at the Saenger” with a pair of shows on Friday and Saturday.

The Last Waltz Tour, a live celebration of The Band’s 1976 farewell concert, will return to the road this fall. The all-star tour first debuted in 2017 with Warren Haynes, Don Was, and Jamey Johnson atop the bill. All three of those artists return this time to re-create key moments from The Band’s San Francisco concert, which was filmed for Martin Scorsese’s 1978 movie — a.k.a. the greatest concert film of all time.

In 2009, Anders Osborne found himself at rock bottom. He was bankrupt, his house was in foreclosure, his wife had kicked him out, and he couldn’t see his two young kids. His livelihood was playing gigs, but he couldn’t even do that — he’d often show up too drunk or high to perform. “For close to a year, I’d [either] try to find a friend’s couch to sleep on [or] I lived in the park,” says Osborne, a New Orleans-based singer-songwriter who’s collaborated with everyone from Phil Lesh to Tim McGraw.

Anders Osborne mixes Big Easy groove with California cool on Buddha and the Blues, his newest collection of greasy roots-rock. Recorded an hour outside of Los Angeles with SoCal icons like guitarist Waddy Watchel and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Benmont Tench, the album hits a high-water mark with “Running,” an anthem for the directionless.
“It’s a dialogue about the endless chasing of things that have no spiritual meaning to me,” says Osborne, who wrote the song back home in New Orleans before recording it with producer (and frequent Neil Young collaborator) Chad Cromwell.

The Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania, has hosted a deep and diverse lineup for the Peach Music Festival since the event was launched by the Allman Brothers Band in 2012, but the seventh annual rendition provided the most colorful bill yet. From Allman Brothers co-founder Dickey Betts and South Carolina soul rockers the Marcus King Band to Nashville songwriter Nicki Bluhm and jam titans Moe., the Peach served up four freewheeling days of inspired music. Here are the 10 best things we saw. (Photos courtesy of the Peach Music Festival...

Steve Earle and Joan Osborne will join Steve Forbert, Jackie Greene, and Anders Osborne for a special benefit concert benefiting the Blue Rose Foundation on October 18.
The acoustic and “in-the-round” show will be held at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ.
The Blue Rose Foundation believes that equal access to resources starts children on an early pathway to success, and strengthens our families and communities. By awarding preschool scholarships to children from economically disadvantaged families, they foster a life-long love of learning and provide the children with the tools to reach their full potential.

HBO’s popular television show Treme: The Complete Third Season picks up two years after Hurricane Katrina has ravaged New Orleans, a time when crime and corruption are on the rise, and outsiders with their own agendas are starting to pour money into the city.
For the people of New Orleans, even the promises of redevelopment come with strings attached, and every dollar that shows up – whether from government disaster relief, or from venture capital, or even from those seeking to remake New Orleans in the wake of Katrina – carries with it new dynamics and new risks. National interest has waned, moving on to the next headline, but those who know and love the Crescent City have no choice. They must find their way back to what matters in the life of their city.

New Orleans, April 27 (Reuters) - Musician Troy Andrews, better known as "Trombone Shorty," witnessed his first New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at age 12 - not from the viewing area but on stage.
"I was playing with my brother's brass band," said Andrews, now 27.
At this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Andrews will be given a high honor. He will perform for the first time as the closing act of the final day on the biggest stage. That time slot previously had long been occupied by one of New Orleans' most famous bands, the Neville Brothers.
The festival, which began Friday and ends May 5, has music lovers filling the walkways linking 12 stages arranged across 150 acres of the festival grounds, not far from downtown.
During the next two weekends, some 500 bands will perform at the festival, including a sprinkling of big names from Billy Joel, Dave Matthews and Adam Lambert to Jill Scott,...
