Alternative Acoustic Soul artist, Whitney Mongé, emerged onto the
Seattle scene in 2008 after moving from Spokane, WA to pursue her
passion of music. With soulful tones reminiscent of Bill Withers and
the influence of female folk rockers, Melissa Etheridge and Tracy
Chapman, Whitney has continually evolved her sound to create timeless
music. It all began with a single street performance in the famous Pike
Place Market and from there her audience has multiplied. Whitney's
busking career has also lead to countless opportunities including local
radio airplay, performances at Seattle's hottest venues, press reviews
from notable sources, and in 2012 she was runner up in the Hard Rock
Café Seattle Battle of the Band competition.
In January 2011, Whitney self-released a full length album called Heartbeat. The 9 song LP is a solo album recorded, written and produced by Ms. Mongé herself. Soon after she started on her next feat of a professionally recorded album later that year. In August 2011 Whitney recorded a 5 song EP titled Steadfast, with Grammy Award winning Producer, Pete Stewart. This album includes a full band with Seattle's best talent and more original riveting compositions. Heartbeat and Steadfast are both available on iTunes and whitneymongemusic.com.
