Moon Knight has the potential to be something pretty special. The upcoming Disney Plus show will focus on one of the more obscure and interesting Marvel characters, one who’s often said to be the company’s equivalent of Batman. Then again, while Moon Knight is a fairly grounded hero, there are also a number of supernatural aspects to his story, which make him stand out and give him a unique edge.
To date, there seemingly hasn’t been a whole lot of movement on the aforementioned series, but it certainly appears as if things are about to pick up steam as the casting process is now underway. Or at least, that’s according to The Illuminerdi, who’ve shared today that none other than Keanu Reeves is being eyed for the title role in the show.

While we wait for Daniel Craig’s final 007 film, No Time To Die, to drop at long last in a couple of months, a major new rumor has been doing the rounds online which claims that the producers have already decided on his replacement. According to The Vulcan Reporter, Venom star Tom Hardy has been hired as the next James Bond. Of course, the actor has long been a favorite fan-cast for the role, but now it’s possible that the casting might come true.
To give us a flavor of how the British thesp could look in the part of the super secret agent, fan artist BossLogic has worked his magic once more and whipped up a poster for Hardy’s 007. He explains in his caption that he was inspired by the poster for 2014’s John Wick, which featured Keanu Reeves’ action hero in a similar pose.

Quibi and Kevin Hart are teaming back up for another round of action/comedy shenanigans. The streaming service has announced a sequel to Hart's series Die Hart, which was a self-aware take on the action genre, taking its name from the Bruce Willis classic Die Hard. Rather appropriately, the sequel will be titled Die Harter, named in the vein of 1990's Die Hard 2: Die Harder.
Not much was revealed aside from the initial announcement. The series is produced by Kevin Hart and his long-time business partner Jeff Clanagan for Lol Studios. Hart will serve as executive producer, in addition to his starring role, with Candice Wilson (Lol Studios) and Bryan Smiley (HartBeat productions) also on board as executive producers. Jeff Clanagan, President of Laugh Out Loud, had this to say in a statement.

Chad Stahelski counts 25 years of stunts to his name, a quarter-century of movie-making experience that prepared him to make his directorial feature debut in the original John Wick, which kickstarted the action-packed franchise that continues to be a worldwide hit. His counterpart David Leitch, an uncredited co-director on that Wick flick, banked nearly 20 years of stunt experience before helming such action-focused films as Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. It might have been a groundbreaking effort in both the action and sci-fi genres, one that had a huge effect on cinema at the turn of the millennium and found itself so widely imitated that the movie’s signature moments had been reduced to parody in virtually no time at all, but at its heart, The Matrix was a love story between Keanu Reeves’ Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity.
The fate of the entire world may have been at stake in a battle between the hardened human survivors and the machines that had enslaved them, but the emotional beats of the narrative were always driven by the two aforementioned heroes. It might have become a little cloying and heavy-handed as the Wachowskis struggled with having their writing match their ambitions, but it was ultimately a tale of two people doing everything in their power to be together, with a war...

When rumblings first started about a fourth installment in The Matrix franchise, the word going around was that the movie was set to be a prequel focusing on a younger version of Morpheus, with Michael B. Jordan heavily linked to the role. That talk immediately ceased, however, when it was announced that Lana Wachowski would be returning to direct her first solo film, and Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss would also be back along for the ride.
Even when pre-production was ramping up, the presence of Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II led many to believe that a young Morpheus was still set to be a part of the story, especially when Laurence Fishburne revealed the pretty straightforward reason as to why he wasn’t involved. There were even theories circulating online that The Matrix 4 could have a time travel element, but all of this speculation seems to have been...

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are joined by lookalike daughters to party on through time and save the world, with the help of Mozart, Hendrix and Louis Armstrong
Not excellent maybe, but by no means bogus either, this cheerful Bill & Ted threequel brings the story of our two laidback heroes up to the melancholy autumn of their middle age.
Alex Winter is Bill – and he’s eerily the same – and Keanu Reeves is Ted; though with that dark mop of hair framing his now rather Easter-Island-stern face, Ted looks more forbidding to me, as if carrying the baggage of Neo (from Matrix) and hitman John Wick. But with his weirdly lovable awkward gestures, Ted clearly still has no idea how or why to move his arms. Like the other two films, this is written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, and the director is Dean Parisot, renowned for the sci-fi comedy classic Galaxy Quest.

Werner Herzog and his son, Rudolph Herzog, will partner with Gunpowder & Sky on “Last Exit: Space,” a new documentary examining mankind’s push to colonize space. Rudolph Herzog will direct, with Werner Herzog attached to executive produce the film, as well as narrate the picture in his inimitable German-accented growl.
In addition to Gunpowder & Sky, Spring Films (“The Act of Killing”) and Taglicht Media (“Propaganda: The Art of Selling Lies”) are signed on to co-produce the feature, which will begin production this fall.
ICM Partners negotiated the deal on behalf of Spring Films. Spring Films have produced numerous documentaries with the Herzogs, most recently selling Werner’s “Fireball,” an examination of meteors and shooting stars, to Apple TV Plus. It screened at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Exclusive: Netflix is getting the Toronto International Film Festival off to a strong start with a figurative and literal punch in the face. Deadline hears the streamer is firming an 8-figure sum for world rights to Bruised, the mixed martial arts drama that marks the directorial debut of Halle Berry. It’s the first major deal on the (virtual) ground at TIFF. Netflix got a preemptive look at the film — which is premiering at Toronto as a work in progress — and took it off the table before its virtual premiere Saturday. When all done, deal will be high-teens, not far from $20 million, sources said. Endeavor Content and Netflix are closing it up right now.

Exclusive: German major Leonine is extending its long-term partnership with Los Angeles-based industry vet Thomas Augsberger and his Eden Rock Media banner via a multi-year consulting deal.

Exclusive: John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road Films has teamed with Redbox Entertainment to form Asbury Park Pictures, a production label created to leverage the global appetite for moderately-budgeted high-concept action and thriller films.
The venture will produce a dozen films over three years with budgets in the $10 million-$12 million range. The films will be distributed domestically through Redbox’s vast system of DVD rental kiosks and on-demand streaming service, the first original content generated specifically for the ancillary distributor that has a subscriber base around 45 million in the U.S.
The venture allows for films with breakout potential to be set up with a theatrical distributor, and foreign sales firm Rocket Science will handle international distribution rights for the label, as well as arrange output partners in select territories.

Remember Tangled, that zippy animated adaptation of the Rapunzel fairy tale? The one set in the Kingdom of Corona. Well, have you ever imagined what would happen if you crossed its hero Flynn Rider with assassin-extraordinaire John Wick? Didn’t think so. Someone else, on the other hand, not only had the thought, but brought it to life in a piece of fan art that the world never expected to see.
John Wick: Chapter 4 could take any number of artistic directions, but I don’t think crossing into the realm of Disney fantasia is one of them. Tonal issues aside (good luck reconciling them), how would Lionsgate acquire the rights to a rival studio’s characters? I’ve probably already given this too much thought. In any case, check out the art below.

Alex Winter doesn't believe that the success of the John Wick franchise paved the way for Bill & Ted Face the Music. Keanu Reeves has played John Wick in three installments so far and there's more on the way for the assassin. The first movie came out and was an unexpected success, while the next two chapters were huge hits, seemingly introducing another phase of Reeves' long career, though he never really went away. But did the John Wick success help make Bill & Ted Face the Music a reality?
In a new interview, Alex Winter discussed the long journey to getting Bill & Ted Face the Music into theaters and homes. The sequel had been talked about for decades and for a while, it looked like it was never going to happen, but not for lack of trying. Bill & Ted creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson already had the story in place,...

With Hugh Jackman’s record-breaking tenure as the Wolverine seemingly over, all eyes have turned on who’ll be next to wield the claws. Could Disney cast a total unknown as Jackman was back when he was chosen? Or should they instead opt for a big name? Instagram artist BossLogic evidently favours the latter, as his new fan art, which you can see below, imagines how John Wick star Keanu Reeves could look as the iconic X-Man.
Reeves as Wolverine, that’d be quite a way to reboot the character, wouldn’t it? Would he have the physique for the role, though? He’s tall, slender, and very keen on martial arts. But not a body builder, so perhaps not the best fit for the human tank that is Wolverine. Ultimately, it’s neither here nor there, as in all likelihood, it’ll always be a fantasy.

Back in 2014, Keanu Reeves had something of a revival to his action career, introducing audiences to the now iconic master assassin, John Wick. Now three chapters in, and with spin-offs currently being worked on, the franchise has grown and will likely keep going for some time, but how long does Reeves plan to be involved? Well, according the actor himself, he will keep shooting and throwing and punching and kicking until he drops.
"As far as my legs can take me. As far as the audience wants to go," Keanu Reeves said when asked how long he plans to play the role of John Wick. A short, sweet, and profoundly simple answer, would you expect anything less from Keanu Reeves.

Zack Snyder’s imminently-arriving “Snyder Cut” of 2017’s Justice League may be the dominant topic about the director, but his hiatus-breaking comeback with Netflix film Army of the Dead also draws near. Interestingly, while there’s still no release date for said film, it appears that its streaming giant platform is already planning to expand the zombie-battling franchise with a prequel movie and anime series. Netflix has announced its expansion plans for, as the company puts it, a “Universe” of Snyder’s Army of the Dead, which, itself, is a sequel to his 2004 breakthrough, Dawn of the Dead. While Snyder—who directed and co-wrote the upcoming film—will certainly remain the creative fulcrum for the follow-up offerings, some interesting choices were made to handle the day-to-day duties. Boom! Studios recently announced that they would be taking the Keanu Reeves-helmed comic book title, Brzrkr, to Kickstarter. But after wandering the world for centuries, Berzerker may have finally found a refuge - working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. Keanu Reeves is no stranger to starring in some of the greatest action movies ever made having already appeared in Point Break, Speed and The Matrix, but even the actor himself must have been a little surprised by the massive success of John Wick. After a lean few years where he’d found critical and commercial adulation hard to come by, Wick looked like just another generic actioner and was written off by many as exactly that.
However, once audiences had a chance to check out the sharp-suited assassin for themselves, they were blown away by the jaw-dropping set pieces and fight choreography, not to mention a stellar performance from a leading man comfortably back in his element. The first installment drew widespread praise and raked in $88 million on a $20 million budget and just like that, a new franchise was born.

Released in 2014, the first John Wick film was an instant critical and commercial hit upon release, and over the years has amassed a cult following of massive proportions. Featuring veteran Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves in the lead role, the film told the story of retired hitman John Wick, who is forced into his past routine of murder and mayhem when a bunch of gangsters kill his dog.

Halle Berry infamously stripped off her top in Swordfish, showing off her assets to Hugh Jackman in a scene that will live on in infamy. That happened way back in 2001 in the golden age of DVDs. And it surely wrecked a lot of pause buttons. Now, nearly twenty years later, Halle is going topless again, only this time it's on Instagram. And it's not to sell an action movie, it's to promote self-love amidst the backdrop of a difficult divorce.
Nearly two decades later, Halle Berry doesn't look like she has aged a day. A lot of famous friends have been chiming in to comment on how tone her arms are, looking ready for another fight alongside John Wick. In the past month, Halle Berry also paid homage to her iconic bikini scene from Die Another Day in which she portrayed Giacinta "Jinx" Johnson in a stunning two-piece.

It’s been almost 30 years since Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan rocked out in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, but Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are back in this summer’s Bill & Ted Face the Music as the iconic duo, spurred to action once more when a visitor from the future tells them one of their songs can save the world and bring harmony to the universe.

Keanu Reeves recently appeared on an episode of The Late Show to discuss his upcoming film Bill & Ted Face the Music. During the interview, talk show host Stephen Colbert asked Reeves who would win if Neo and John Wick – two protagonists of beloved action franchises, both played by the actor – had a fight.
The question is a valid one, as both The Matrix and the John Wick series feature fantastic action sequences that either revolutionized or revitalized dying genres upon release. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the source material, Neo is a hacker who discovers that his reality is actually a computer-generated simulation which he then learns to control, while John Wick is an ex-hit man who should never, ever be messed with.

The internet was overjoyed when it was announced that The Matrix 4 and John Wick: Chapter 4 would be released simultaneously, with Keanu Reeves Day instantly becoming one of the hottest dates on the 2021 calendar. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic has seen those plans thrown out of the window, as Neo’s fourth outing was delayed by almost an entire year and John Wick’s return was also pushed back.
Wick director Chad Stahelski isn’t letting that get him down, however, and is already looking towards the future, as the filmmaker has admitted that he’s planning for the Highlander reboot to be his next movie. Keanu Reeves was asked who would win in a direct confrontation between his two leading characters from John Wick and The Matrix, and the beloved actor had a most excellent response. With John Wick and Neo both serving as two of Reeves' toughest and most popular characters from his movie career, a potential showdown between the action heroes would likely be pretty explosive. Still, Reeves refuses to provide an answer to the hypothetical question, suggesting that it's much more likely Neo and John would instead team up.
"Well, No. 1, they wouldn't fight," Reeves explained during a recent appearance on Stephen Colbert's Late Show. Eager to get an answer, Colbert presses Reeves, asking what would happen if Neo accidentally ran over John Wick's dog on the road. Even in that situation, however, Reeves seems to feel that the two characters would make natural allies.

A Highlander remake has been in production for so long now that it is becoming increasingly likely that only true immortals will be still alive to see it come to life. If John Wick's Chad Stahelski gets his way though, Highlander will reach our screens much sooner. The action director is already lined up to helm the long-gestating project and is certainly passionate about getting it done as soon as he can.
"Highlander is very, very near and dear to what I want to do next."
Chad Stahelski even teased his intention for the remake, whilst also dismissing joining either the Marvel or DC cinematic universes.
"I'm really curious about what I can do with Highlander and how I reinvent the hero worship stuff. Those fascinate me a lot. I just like more of the original properties that you can grow from as opposed to step into a number five or a number six.

With Bill & Ted Face The Music hitting VOD this weekend, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter videoed into The Late Show to talk about the return of the much-loved franchise and the actors’ decades-long friendship.
As the duo told Stephen Colbert, before they were co-stars, the actors first bonded during the audition process.
“We were very young and Keanu had a motorcycle helmet with him and I had a motorcycle helmet with me. We kind of went, ‘Oh, you ride? Oh, you play bass? Oh, you have the same taste in theater and film and literature.

Keanu Reeves has long been a fan-favorite casting when it comes to picking up the claws set down by Hugh Jackman after more than a decade of playing the mutant Wolverine. During an interview with SiriusXM, Reeves admitted he would have loved to have taken on the role, but feels it is now too late:
"Keanu Reeves: For me, I always wanted to play Wolverine. It is too late. It was filled really well. I'm all good with it now."
Despite the popular internet myth that he is immortal, Reeves is actually 55 years old, which is 23 years older than when Jackman made his debut as the clawed superhero in the original X-Men. Taking on a role as physically arduous as Wolverine at this point in his career would be very different from kicking butt as Neo in the original Matrix films in the 1990s.

There isn’t a Marvel or DC project that goes by these days without rumors of Keanu Reeves’ involvement, with the beloved actor regularly in the sights of both major comic book franchises. Kevin Feige already admitted that they talk to the 55 year-old about nearly every movie that they make, with the latest speculation linking him to the lead role in a proposed Ghost Rider reboot.
Meanwhile, Reeves’ DC effort Constantine recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary, which also just happened to coincide with talks that a follow-up is reportedly in the works, one that would see the John Wick star reprise his role as the chain-smoking occultist. The movie flew well under the radar when it first landed back in 2005, but given how Reeves is now arguably the most wholesome and universally popular star on the planet, a sequel would be an almost guaranteed success.

Thanks to the recent delay in production, we won't get to see the continuing adventures of master assassin John Wick for some time. It's not all bad news though, as Lionsgate has already confirmed that not only will we be getting John Wick: Chapter 4, but that they have already greenlit John Wick 5 before the fourth movie has even had the chance to start principal photography. Director Chad Stahelski has been discussing the future of the John Wick franchise and his intention to make sure that the fourth movie is great before even really thinking about the fifth.

Few would disagree with the John Wick series being called the best action series to come out of Hollywood in recent memory. The first film kicked things off with frenetic high body-count action scenes and its sequels only upped the ante from there. Each John Wick adventure is over the top, overly violent and an overall excellent portfolio of impressive action scenes. But it seems that was not always going to be the case.
Director Chad Stahelski recently revealed that the first film’s original screenplay only saw Wick kill a measly 3 people. For context, that would be approximately 77 fewer deaths than in the final cut, meaning that this draft would be missing over 95% of the movie’s kills. Stahelski recently explained how the film came to be so different from the original script when speaking to ComicBook.com, saying:

Sleek, stylish, over-the-top violence has become the calling card of the John Wick franchise, with the title character regularly mowing down leagues of assassins on his quest to avenge his dog's death and retire from a life of being the world's greatest killer. In an interview, the creator of the series, Chad Stahelski revealed that the first draft of the original John Wick script featured much less violence and only 3 deaths.
"I think [Keanu Reeves] sent [the script] to me on a Friday and I read it maybe that day and thought about it over the weekend. It was much more contained. I think only three people died in the original script, two were in a car crash. It was very, very minimal, and it was slightly different. At some point, for whatever reason, Keanu Reeves became a bit of a joke in Hollywood. His movies weren’t quite hitting the way expectations were laid out and then the “Sad Keanu” memes started. But just like Keanu Reeves would do, he just kept keeping on. Then John Wick caught on like wildfire.

John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski would like to take a stab at Blade if he were to direct his own superhero movie. Known for co-directing the original John Wick alongside David Leitch, Stahelski has since helmed both successful sequels on his own. While he will have at least two more sequels to work on to keep him busy for now, Stahelski couldn't help but mention the iconic superhero famously played by Wesley Snipes in the original Blade movie trilogy.
Chad Stahelski had this to say about which superhero movie he'd like to direct.
"As far as doing my own, I'm not a gigantic superhero guy, but I enjoy the movies. I love The Avengers. I loved Captain America. I like James Gunn's take on Guardians. I really dig him as a director and what he's done with that. Ragnarok, I felt was really funny. I thought that was clever.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Blade reboot was the surprise announcement of last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, but ever since then we’ve received virtually nothing about the project besides frequent teases of how leading man Mahershala Ali could look in the title role. There’s still no release date, no director, no writers and no other cast members attached except the two-time Academy Award winning actor.
However, because this is a high-profile McU movie we’re talking about, there’s been plenty of rumors and speculation making the rounds about how Blade could cross over with the rest of the franchise and big name stars being eyed to play the villain, not to mention a possible return for original Blade Wesley Snipes in a cameo role.

Laurence Fishburne is offering his side of the story as to why he turned down a starring role in Pulp Fiction, refuting claims from director Quentin Tarantino that the part just wasn't big enough for him. Very famous for his well-known roles in movies like The Matrix trilogy and TV shows like CSI, Fishburne came very close to adding Tarantino's Oscar-winning flick to his body of work as well. However, the actor now says that the movie's famous heroin overdose scene was ultimately what prevented his potential casting.
Earlier this year, Tarantino spoke about the characters in Pulp Fiction, revealing that he had written the part of murderous gangster Jules Winnfield specifically for Fishburne. According to Tarantino, Laurence Fishburne turned down the role because it wasn't a leading man part that would have featured his name getting top billing. This opened the door for Samuel L. When Yeon Sang-ho was conceiving his new film Peninsula, the much-anticipated follow-up to his surprise 2016 hit zombie action film Train to Busan, there was no way of knowing that audiences would be watching it during an outbreak and societal breakdown of their own in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. If you’re a filmmaker that has a huge directorial debut, such as Chad Stahelski and “John Wick,” for example, all you want is to make sure your sophomore feature isn’t a bust. Well, after two more “John Wick” sequels, each performing better than the last, it’s clear that Stahelski is no fluke, and Hollywood studios have taken notice. Now, he has a number of projects being thrown his way and it appears he’s found one that isn’t in the “John Wick” universe that he’d like to work on, titled “Arcana.”

47 Ronin may not have made an impact as an action flick—released in 2013 headlined by a post-Matrix, pre-John Wick comeback Keanu Reeves—but someone over at studio Universal apparently has enough love for the medieval-Japan samurai film to greenlight a sequel—specifically a cyberpunk sequel set in the far-future. Now, said sequel has a director.
Ron Yuan, an actor who moonlights as a director, has been hired to helm the untitled 47 Ronin sequel movie, according to Deadline. The film, set up at Universal Pictures Home Entertainment subsidiary Universal 1440 Entertainment, will contrast starkly from its historically-based, Reeves-starring predecessor, touted as a genre-hybrid cyberpunk story set 300 years in the future. It is also reportedly set to be directly distributed by Netflix, although that notion doesn’t seem to be reflected in the source report (at least in its current form).
