The John Wick franchise has already given moviegoers some amazing action scenes. Three movies in, the franchise keeps finding ways to up the stakes and reinvent the wheel with new and creative sequences. These scenes may include gunfights in a night club, throwing knives, dogs, or even a pencil.

John Wick is an expert assassin and can figure out how to kill his enemies with basically anything. It's awesome to see Keanu Reeves making a comeback as an action star and he is doing it in spectacular fashion. Here are the 10 best action scenes in the John Wick franchise.

Moon Knight has the potential to be something pretty special. The upcoming Disney Plus show will focus on one of the more obscure and interesting Marvel characters, one who’s often said to be the company’s equivalent of Batman. Then again, while Moon Knight is a fairly grounded hero, there are also a number of supernatural aspects to his story, which make him stand out and give him a unique edge.

To date, there seemingly hasn’t been a whole lot of movement on the aforementioned series, but it certainly appears as if things are about to pick up steam as the casting process is now underway. While we wait for Daniel Craig’s final 007 film, No Time To Die, to drop at long last in a couple of months, a major new rumor has been doing the rounds online which claims that the producers have already decided on his replacement. According to The Vulcan Reporter, Venom star Tom Hardy has been hired as the next James Bond. Of course, the actor has long been a favorite fan-cast for the role, but now it’s possible that the casting might come true.

To give us a flavor of how the British thesp could look in the part of the super secret agent, fan artist BossLogic has worked his magic once more and whipped up a poster for Hardy’s 007. He explains in his caption that he was inspired by the poster for 2014’s John Wick, which featured Keanu Reeves’ action hero in a similar pose.

Quibi and Kevin Hart are teaming back up for another round of action/comedy shenanigans. The streaming service has announced a sequel to Hart's series Die Hart, which was a self-aware take on the action genre, taking its name from the Bruce Willis classic Die Hard. Rather appropriately, the sequel will be titled Die Harter, named in the vein of 1990's Die Hard 2: Die Harder.

Not much was revealed aside from the initial announcement. The series is produced by Kevin Hart and his long-time business partner Jeff Clanagan for Lol Studios. Hart will serve as executive producer, in addition to his starring role, with Candice Wilson (Lol Studios) and Bryan Smiley (HartBeat productions) also on board as executive producers. Not excellent maybe, but by no means bogus either, this cheerful Bill & Ted threequel brings the story of our two laidback heroes up to the melancholy autumn of their middle age.

Alex Winter is Bill – and he’s eerily the same – and Keanu Reeves is Ted; though with that dark mop of hair framing his now rather Easter-Island-stern face, Ted looks more forbidding to me, as if carrying the baggage of Neo (from Matrix) and hitman John Wick. But with his weirdly lovable awkward gestures, Ted clearly still has no idea how or why to move his arms. Like the other two films, this is written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, and the director is Dean Parisot, renowned for the sci-fi comedy classic Galaxy Quest.

Werner Herzog and his son, Rudolph Herzog, will partner with Gunpowder & Sky on “Last Exit: Space,” a new documentary examining mankind’s push to colonize space. Rudolph Herzog will direct, with Werner Herzog attached to executive produce the film, as well as narrate the picture in his inimitable German-accented growl.

In addition to Gunpowder & Sky, Spring Films (“The Act of Killing”) and Taglicht Media (“Propaganda: The Art of Selling Lies”) are signed on to co-produce the feature, which will begin production this fall.

Deadline hears the streamer is firming an 8-figure sum for world rights to Bruised, the mixed martial arts drama that marks the directorial debut of Halle Berry. Exclusive: German major Leonine is extending its long-term partnership with Los Angeles-based industry vet Thomas Augsberger and his Eden Rock Media banner via a multi-year consulting deal.

Eden Rock Media will continue to advise Leonine on licensing U.S.-produced features and series for German-speaking territories and continue to work on third-party TV acquisitions for Leonine’s English-language international sales division.

Exclusive: John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk’s Thunder Road Films has teamed with Redbox Entertainment to form Asbury Park Pictures, a production label created to leverage the global appetite for moderately-budgeted high-concept action and thriller films.

The venture will produce a dozen films over three years with budgets in the $10 million-$12 million range. The films will be distributed domestically through Redbox’s vast system of DVD rental kiosks and on-demand streaming service, the first original content generated specifically for the ancillary distributor that has a subscriber base around 45 million in the U.S.

The venture allows for films with breakout potential to be set up with a theatrical distributor, and foreign sales firm Rocket Science will handle international distribution rights for the label, as well as arrange output partners in select territories.

Someone else, on the other hand, not only had the thought, but brought it to life in a piece of fan art that the world never expected to see.

John Wick: Chapter 4 could take any number of artistic directions, but I don’t think crossing into the realm of Disney fantasia is one of them. Released in 2014, the first John Wick film was an instant critical and commercial hit upon release, and over the years has amassed a cult following of massive proportions. Featuring veteran Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves in the lead role, the film told the story of retired hitman John Wick, who is forced into his past routine of murder and mayhem when a bunch of gangsters kill his dog.

Keanu Reeves recently appeared on an episode of The Late Show to discuss his upcoming film Bill & Ted Face the Music. During the interview, talk show host Stephen Colbert asked Reeves who would win if Neo and John Wick – two protagonists of beloved action franchises, both played by the actor – had a fight.

The question is a valid one, as both The Matrix and the John Wick series feature fantastic action sequences that either revolutionized or revitalized dying genres upon release. Keanu Reeves was asked who would win in a direct confrontation between his two leading characters from John Wick and The Matrix, and the beloved actor had a most excellent response. With John Wick and Neo both serving as two of Reeves' toughest and most popular characters from his movie career, a potential showdown between the action heroes would likely be pretty explosive. Still, Reeves refuses to provide an answer to the hypothetical question, suggesting that it's much more likely Neo and John would instead team up.

"Well, No. 1, they wouldn't fight," Reeves explained during a recent appearance on Stephen Colbert's Late Show. Eager to get an answer, Colbert presses Reeves, asking what would happen if Neo accidentally ran over John Wick's dog on the road. Even in that situation, however, Reeves seems to feel that the two characters would make natural allies.

A Highlander remake has been in production for so long now that it is becoming increasingly likely that only true immortals will be still alive to see it come to life. If John Wick's Chad Stahelski gets his way though, Highlander will reach our screens much sooner. With Bill & Ted Face The Music hitting VOD this weekend, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter videoed into The Late Show to talk about the return of the much-loved franchise and the actors’ decades-long friendship.

As the duo told Stephen Colbert, before they were co-stars, the actors first bonded during the audition process.

“We were very young and Keanu had a motorcycle helmet with him and I had a motorcycle helmet with me. We kind of went, ‘Oh, you ride? Oh, you play bass? Oh, you have the same taste in theater and film and literature.

Keanu Reeves has long been a fan-favorite casting when it comes to picking up the claws set down by Hugh Jackman after more than a decade of playing the mutant Wolverine. During an interview with SiriusXM, Reeves admitted he would have loved to have taken on the role, but feels it is now too late:

"Keanu Reeves: For me, I always wanted to play Wolverine. It is too late. It was filled really well. I'm all good with it now."

Despite the popular internet myth that he is immortal, Reeves is actually 55 years old, which is 23 years older than when Jackman made his debut as the clawed superhero in the original X-Men. Taking on a role as physically arduous as Wolverine at this point in his career would be very different from kicking butt as Neo in the original Matrix films in the 1990s.

There isn’t a Marvel or DC project that goes by these days without rumors of Keanu Reeves’ involvement, with the beloved actor regularly in the sights of both major comic book franchises. Kevin Feige already admitted that they talk to the 55 year-old about nearly every movie that they make, with the latest speculation linking him to the lead role in a proposed Ghost Rider reboot.

Meanwhile, Reeves’ DC effort Constantine recently celebrated its fifteenth anniversary, which also just happened to coincide with talks that a follow-up is reportedly in the works, one that would see the John Wick star reprise his role as the chain-smoking occultist. Few would disagree with the John Wick series being called the best action series to come out of Hollywood in recent memory. The first film kicked things off with frenetic high body-count action scenes and its sequels only upped the ante from there. Each John Wick adventure is over the top, overly violent and an overall excellent portfolio of impressive action scenes. But it seems that was not always going to be the case.

Gunpowder & Sky’s sci-fi label Dust is teaming with producer John Davis and Black Label Media to develop time-hopping action pic Time Agent. John Wick scribe Derek Kolstad is set to write the feature based on the Korean short film The Time Agent from writer/director Jude Chun, which was previously released by Dust.

“The Dust team lives for amplifying the voices of diverse storytellers and when we first came across Jude’s short film, we knew we had something special,” said Eric Bromberg, General Manager of Dust. “Having the short realized into a feature film with the powerhouse combination of John Davis, Black Label and Derek Kolstad, only confirms our instinct that this will be nothing short of a mind-bending adrenaline-shot-to-the-heart.”

Exclusive: Lionsgate has purchased Arcana, a spec script by Predators scribes Michael Finch & Alex Litvak that will be developed for John Wick helmer Chad Stahelski to direct. The film is a gritty urban fantasy set in the hidden world of magical clans.

Stahelski will produce through 87Eleven Entertainment. Stahelski is currently working on John Wick 4 for Lionsgate. 87Eleven Entertainment’s Stahelski, Jason Spitz and Alex Young will produce. Finch and Litvak will be executive producers.

The scribes most recently sold an explosive franchise launcher, Versus, to Universal with 87North producing, and they have Medieval set at Sony.

Stahelski is represented by WME and attorney Tara Kole. Finch is represented by Verve Talent and Literary Agency. Litvak is repped by Jon Huddle of Fourth Wall Entertainment.
