Exclusive: Lifetime has given a green light to How To Murder Your Husband, one of the network’s new Ripped from the Headlines movies announced today, starring Cybill Shepherd (The Client List) and Steve Guttenberg. It’s slated for premiere on Saturday, January 14 at 8 pm/7c.
The project marks Shepherd’s return to Lifetime following her previous starring role in The Client List and a guest-starring role on Drop Dead Diva.
Based on a true story, the movie revolves around Nancy Crampton-Brophy, played by Shepherd, who seemed to have a knack for writing about murder. The Portland-based romance-thriller novelist authored books about relationships that were tumultuous, while using seductive men on the covers to lure in her readers. Often, her books featured women protagonists who fantasized about killing their own husbands or fleeing their husbands and faking their own deaths. And then, in 2022 in a shocking turn of events,...

The war in Afghanistan has not gotten much cinematic attention. Whether it’s because of films concentrating on the Iraq War more, the relatively recent nature of the conflict, or the inherent messiness of it all, there’s just a hole in the culture. Enter in Rod Lurie, who saw something in The Outpost, coming out of the Jake Tapper book The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor. The end result is not just one of Lurie’s best works, but a movie that is equally clear-headed about the war, while always being respectful to the individuals who were on the front lines. Hitting some theaters, as well as On Demand services this weekend, it’s one of the best efforts of the year, so far. This film is a war drama, depicting the events of the Battle of Kamdesh, what would be the bloodiest American engagement of the...

Despite having a very strong lead-in (The Vampire Diaries), the Reign TV show drew only mediocre ratings last season. The CW renewed it for a second season anyway. Will it survive to see a third season or will it be cancelled this time around? Stay tuned.
This season of Reign picks up after the death of King Henry and Mary has finally become queen. Is it all that she expected? The cast of this historical drama includes Adelaide Kane, Torrance Coombs, Megan Follows, Toby Regbo, Celina Sinden, Caitlin Stasey, Anna Popplewell, Jonathan Keltz, and Sean Teale.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- typically the following morning, around 11:30am Est/8:30am...
