- Born in London to father Nicholas and mother Sarah, Ted Byron Baybutt took his first and second name from his great-grandfather Ted Byron Jackson. He grew up in Wimbledon Village with his two brothers James (Recruitment and Life Coaching) and Charles (Music industry). At fifteen, he started as a runner at Ealing Studios working with Mike Stevenson on various productions including The Secret Agent (1996). After a brief stint at Shepperton Studios on Simon Magus (1999), he worked, watched and learned from the various productions coming through the studio, including The Mummy (1999). Afterwards he furthered his film knowledge with a film degree. He enrolled in Southampton Institute (Solent) and was educated by his tutors, including the late Ken Russell who was a big influence on his own films. After successful completion of the course, he returned to Ealing Studios, working on over 50 studio productions and commercials in various capacities. His last short film called 'SexLife' was the only UK short film to be selected at the Tribeca Film Festival from over 3,000 submissions. Ted's first horror short co-production has also been officially selected by FrightFest 2015 - one of the most prolific horror film festivals in the world. Ted also produced a well-received play called Auntie and Me.
On 10th September 2021, Ted screened the first cut of his first feature film to 750+ cast, crew and friends at the Odeon Leicester Square, London. He runs Chasing The Bear Films and MovieSweep Ltd.
