Blake Shelton did not write his country hit “Hillbilly Bone.” The “God Gave Me You” singer had a lot to say about the musician who wrote it. Notably, the tune performed a lot better on the country chart in the United States than it did on the all-genre chart.
The writer of Blake Shelton’s ‘Hillbilly Bone’ was behind many great tracks
During a 2010 interview with CMT, Shelton discussed putting albums together. “That’s the hardest thing about making a record — finding those songs that you instantly love that you don’t instantly get tired of,” he said. “That’s usually what happens. I was just lucky this time around with ‘Hillbilly Bone’ and ‘Almost Alright.’
“For whatever reason, [songwriter] Craig Wiseman has taken an interest in me as a singer,” Shelton added. “He’s been very active in getting songs to me as quickly as he can, which is awesome...

“I don’t worship the ground you walk on,” George Strait sang in “Ocean Front Property,” rattling off a list of obvious lies to tell himself he wasn’t hurting. Fellow Texan Hayes Carll takes the idea even farther in his new song “She’ll Come Back to Me,” imagining an alternate reality where he doesn’t end up alone. The song appears on Carll’s upcoming album You Get It All, out October 29th.
Over a thumping kick drum and an eerie minor-key blues riff, Hayes wastes no time...

“I knew the night we met that you get it all,” Hayes Carll sings in his new song, a simple declaration of love and all the good and bad that comes with it. “All my lows and all my highs/all my truth, all my lies/all my rights and all my wrongs,” Carll drawls in the verses. He throws in some concrete examples of his baggage too, from Guy Clark cassette tapes to beat-up cowboy boots that he leaves lying in the hall.

Blake Shelton has announced his first full-length studio record in nearly four years. The Oklahoma native will release Body Language on May 21st. The album is the follow-up to Shelton’s 2017 long-player Texoma Shore.
Body Language — a Conway Twitty-esque title if ever there were one — spans 12 tracks, including Shelton’s current single “Minimum Wage” and the duet with fiancée Gwen Stefani, “Happy Anywhere.” The title track is a collaboration with the Swon Brothers, Shelton’s former protégés on The Voice.

For the last five years, Brothers Osborne have been one of the more compelling acts operating squarely within the confines of commercial country music. The Maryland brother duo has built a strong live following (and earned a pair of Top Twenty hits) based on their no-nonsense balance of crisp country-rock and crooning slow-jams. The former highlight John Osborne’s thrilling guitar theatrics, while the latter showcase Tj Osborne’s nuanced baritone. The group’s last album, Port Saint Joe, was an elegant display of that honky-tonk yin-yang that leaned slightly towards the group’s slower,...

“I heard you been creepin’ round/’Bout the time that sun goes down,” sings Tj Osborne in Brothers Osborne’s thumping new song “Skeletons.” The country duo’s third studio album, also titled Skeletons, will be released October 9th.
Opening with trippy, hypnotic keyboard pulses and throbbing bass, “Skeletons” surges just shy of the 30-second mark as John Osborne’s stinging guitar sets up an ominous tone. Tj lobs accusations at someone whom he suspects of being unfaithful, saying he’s got “bones to pick” with the skeletons in their closet.

Brothers Osborne cook up a funky groove with an evergreen message in their new song “Hatin’ Somebody,” which will appear on their upcoming album Skeletons. The Cma-winning duo’s third studio project, Skeletons will be released October 9th.
Built around sizzling, woozy electric and acoustic slide guitar that recall Sticky Fingers-era Rolling Stones, the swampy “Hatin’ Somebody” was penned by siblings John and Tj Osborne with Casey Beathard. It’s also a statement about bigotry and the struggle to coexist that references a personal transformation the duo’s grandfather underwent.

Surprise, it's Taylor Swift! Bottoms up! The singer made an unannounced guest appearance onstage on Saturday during country music songwriter's Craig Wiseman's headlining show in front of about 40 people at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, where she started her career. Wearing a black turtleneck and her blond hair pulled into a ponytail, Swift received a standing ovation as she was introduced, according to The Tennessean. She performed acoustic versions of her hits "Shake It Off" and "Love Story" and...did a shot of Fireball whiskey with Wiseman! During the show, he talked about attending a Cmt after-party at his office building...

Blake Shelton is giving Gwen Stefani a sweet shout-out on his new album.
With Texoma Shore set for release on Nov. 3, the country singer has officially unveiled the album's track list, featuring one song called "Turnin' Me On," which Shelton co-wrote with Jessi Alexander and Josh Osborne. The sultry track is about exactly what you'd think it'd be about, featuring one line that appears to be a direct reference to Stefani's iconic red pout.
"Knows how to set me on fire, she's always holdin' the match. And when my body's beside hers, there ain't no turnin' back," Shelton croons. "She's Revlon red in the blackest night, lighting up the room in the world just like she's turnin' me on."
Stefani, of course, has been a longtime brand ambassador for Revlon cosmetics -- and an even longer advocate for a bold red lip. (Subtle, Blake!)

Each of his first three albums, says Jerrod Niemann, were meant to be “a 40-minute vacation” chock full of uptempo, party-hearty tunes like “One More Drinkin’ Song.”
But life changes pushed the singer, 38, in search of a wider range of emotions for his latest album, This Ride, released Friday.
Fans have already been able to hear the difference between his last hit, 2014’s “Drink to That All Night,” and the new album’s first single, “God Made a Woman.”
The earlier one is “a song from the boy I was,” says Niemann, and the latest – a ballad of redemption – is...
