The Punisher is set to arrive in Disney+ Special Presentation format. That means Marvel Studios can redefine Frank Castle in the MCU context and for broader audiences who might find the violent character less-than-palatable despite Jon Bernthal's ballyhooed Netflix portrayal. Luckily for Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum and company, no shortage of innovative Marvel Comics exists to help successfully bring the polarizing Punisher character back into the MCU.
Giving The Punisher an MCU spotlight doesn't just boast exciting potential regarding the franchise moving forward and the potential comics that can be tapped to adapt. Marvel can mine storylines like Becky Cloonan's NYC blackout thriller, David Lapham's philosophical clash between Punisher and Daredevil, or Matt Fraction's post-Civil War pivot through a post-Devil's Reign-inspired MCU landscape following Daredevil: Born Again. From his initial confrontations with organized crime to his recent reinventions as leader of the Hand, The Punisher’s...

Batman and his Bat-Family are some of the greatest hand-to-hand fighters in the DC Universe. It's difficult to find a group of crime fighters who are as prepared as Bruce and his "children," but over the years, Batman's family has gathered people who are far more powerful than anyone could have suspected.
Every member of the Bat-Family has undergone rigorous training to become incredibly competent fighters under Batman's tutelage. Few people on Earth can match the skill and speed of Dick Grayson or Jason Todd, but over the last decade, the Bat-Family has gathered a ton of people who are far more powerful than usual. From martial arts masters to people with legitimate superpowers, the Gotham character introduced in the last decade have already made Bat-Family history.

Mia Maps Mizoguchi has been a Gotham resident for quite some time, but its only now, years after her debut, that DC Comics is finally ready to give Maps her spotlight. Its been a long time coming, but iDC used that time to grow Maps character from a bright youth interested in Gothams mysteries to a tested Gotham resident whos seen Gotham at its worst - and now, a superheroic time-traveler working with the Birds of Prey.
Maps Mizoguchi first appeared in Gotham Academy by Brendon Fletcher, Becky Cloonan, and Karl Kerschl, which explored the tainted history of one of Gothams oldest institutions. Maps stood out for her genuine adoration for Batman and Robin, which sometimes led her closer to danger than her friends would have liked. DC may have its own version of Loki in Axel Gust, revealed to be from Asgard in Power Girl #11. Axel and Power Girl develop a romantic relationship, leading to a confrontation with a supervillain named Aquus. The possibility of Axel being Loki himself or related to him could potentially shake up the foundation of DC Comics.
I could be wrong, but it looks like DC Comics is about to get its own version of Loki, and I say that knowing how much we all love Marvel's version of the Norse legend. Even those who don't follow Loki's journey in the comics have likely found themselves enamored with Tom Hiddleston's portrayal in the MCU. The recent introduction of the Bat-Family's new time-traveling member has given fans the opportunity to compare and contrast how DC and Marvel portray their respective futures. tDC ends to portray the future optimistically, something highlighted by a future version of Maps Mizoguchi's optimism in Birds of Prey #9. Especially with its time-hopping characters Cable and Bishop, Marvel regularly represent dark, war-torn future environments in its future, taking a more bleak approach than usually found in the DC Universe, especially in more recent storylines.
The Bat-Family's current resident time traveler, Maps Mizoguchi, just gave DC readers their latest glimpse at the future, and it has led to comparisons between how the publisher and its major counterpart, Marvel depict the future. In turn, this allows for a wider analysis of how Marvel and DC take different approaches to storytelling in general.

Shazam, a powerful DC character, is immune to common weaknesses, making hime even more invulnerable than Superman. Mary Marvel is taken down by Omac's replicated lightning bolt, revealing a vulnerability. The Omac Project #5 showcases a failsafe for the Shazam family using replicated lightning.
Out of all the heroes in the DC Universe, Shazam is one of the strongest with almost no weaknesses to speak of. Unlike Superman, Shazam doesn't have anything as simple as kryptonite or a weakness against magic. This immunity has made him one of DC's most powerful characters, but one tie-in to Infinite Crisis showed Shazam and his family do have one very dangerous weak point.
In The Omac Project #5 by Greg Rucka and Jesús Saíz, readers see Brother Eye unleash the Omac army on the world in an effort to maintain supreme control. Justice League International try to fend off some of these attacks, but they're quickly overwhelmed and overpowered.

Warning! Contains Spoilers For Knight Terrors: Nightwing #2!Almost every member of the Bat-Family has a dark side to their past – but few have a history as dark as Cassandra Cain. Born to be a weapon, Knight Terrors: Nightwing #2 makes it clear that her worst nightmare is not any villain in the DC Comics Universe, but instead her own view of herself.
Knight Terrors: Nightwing #2 – by Becky Cloonan, Michael W. Conrad, Daniele Di Nicuolo, and Adriano Lucas – finds Cassandra, like most of the heroes and villains of the DC Universe, trapped in a nightmare thanks to the villain Insomnia. As each DC character faces their greatest fears, Cassandra Cain confronts herself, and there is a heartbreaking reason why.

Nightwing has struggled to develop his own iconic villains, but Scarecrow has consistently appeared in his stories and could be the perfect adversary for him. In Knight Terrors: Nightwing #2, Nightwing teams up with Scarecrow to escape their nightmares and learns to face his fears. Scarecrow and Nightwing's dynamic works better than Scarecrow's relationship with Batman, as Nightwing's immunity to fear toxin makes him a more interesting adversary.
Unfortunately, Nightwing has always struggled to maintain a recognizable rogues gallery in his history as an independent hero. Despite having his own city to take care of for the past twenty years, it's difficult to name more than a handful of Nightwing's villains. But one iconic Batman villain might be able to fix this, since Scarecrow has a much deeper connection with Nightwing than he does with Batman.

Wonder Woman's height has changed over the years, growing from 5'8" in the 1940s to 6'2" in the present day. Her growth spurt was officially recognized in the comics, with her height increasing at different points in the timeline. Ultimately, Wonder Woman's height varies depending on the era, but her skills and abilities are what truly define her as a hero.
Pictures don't lie, and by that understanding, Wonder Woman is one of DC's tallest heroes of any gender. But it may surprise some fans that the height of Wonder Woman's original 1940s iteration is nowhere near the height modern fandom believes her to be in the 21st century.
Heroes change or evolve all the time in comic books, and Wonder Woman is not immune to this fact. To be sure, one of her most obvious and commented-on changes over the years has been her costume. While in the...
