Batgirl has long been a treasured member of the Bat-Family as Batman's adopted daughter, and over the years she's demonstrated that she's the very best of his protégés. Now, Cassandra Cain has further cemented herself as the perfect Bat-Family hero thanks to the skills she's gathered from fighting alongside them. While they all learn from Batman, Batgirl has taken her training to the next level by learning from them in turn.

In Batgirl #3 by Tate Brombal, Takeshi Miyazawa, Mike Spicer, and Tom Napolitano, Cassandra Cain and Lady Shiva face off against a group of ninjas on a moving train. Shiva tries to convince her to cease fighting, but Cass rejects her pleas and focuses on her connections to her family back in Gotham to motivate her.

Mia Maps Mizoguchi has been a Gotham resident for quite some time, but its only now, years after her debut, that DC Comics is finally ready to give Maps her spotlight. Axel and Power Girl develop a romantic relationship, leading to a confrontation with a supervillain named Aquus. The possibility of Axel being Loki himself or related to him could potentially shake up the foundation of DC Comics.

I could be wrong, but it looks like DC Comics is about to get its own version of Loki, and I say that knowing how much we all love Marvel's version of the Norse legend. Even those who don't follow Loki's journey in the comics have likely found themselves enamored with Tom Hiddleston's portrayal in the MCU. He's a likable chap, but I think DC has a chance to do better.

Fan favorite comics author Scott Snyder is jumping back into the horror field, this is time with a three-issue mini-series for upstart publisher Dstlry.

Titled White Boat, the comic will reteam the writer, who became a superstar thanks to his Batman work for in DC in the 2010s, with artist Francesco Francavilla. The two collaborated on a horror mini-series titled Night of the Ghoul, which is now set up for adaptation at 20th Century Studios with 21 Laps producing.

San Francisco, CA – Today, Viz Media as part of its Viz Originals line launches a one-shot submissions portal which will see American aspiring creators published alongside Japanese legends including Rumiko Takahashi, Junji Ito and Haro Aso via the Viz Manga digital service.
