Andy Murray is retiring from tennis. The pro tearfully announced his plans at an emotional press conference in Melbourne, Australia on Friday, citing his hip injury as his reason for stepping away from the sport. Breaking the news clearly wasn't easy for the athlete. After answering a few initial questions in which he revealed he was "not great," he stepped away from the microphone to wipe away a tear and gather his thoughts. "I'm not feeling good," he admitted once he returned. "I've obviously been struggling for a long time. I've been in a lot of pain for what's been probably about 20 months now. I've pretty much done everything that I could to try to...

The Only Way is Essex star Pete Wicks poses trapped and bloody in a series of striking photos and videos by renowned photographer Trevor Leighton to support animal charity Humane Society International UK’s Fur-Free Britain campaign.
Pete Wicks trapped and bloody in new charity campaign to ban fur
An estimated more than 100 million animals are killed every year for the fur trade. Most endure a life of deprivation and suffering on fur farms where they spend their lives in small, barren, wire cages. Other animals like coyotes are trapped in the wild. Once caught, these animals can languish in agony in cruel traps for hours or even days before being shot and killed when the trapper returns. Animals have been known to die from dehydration, starvation or attacks by predators, or even to gnaw off their own limb in an effort to escape.

This week, British Prime Minister Theresa May received a letter from 31 of Britain’s biggest stars urging her to introduce a UK ban on animal-fur imports.
Fur farming has been illegal in the UK since 2000, but since then Britain has imported over £650 million worth of fur from countries such as China and Poland, where animals are typically bred in appalling conditions on fur farms.
The stars signed the open letter to show their support for the #FurFreeBritain campaign run by a group of prominent animal charities – Humane Society International UK, the Rspca, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Four Paws, Animal Aid, Brian May's Save Me Trust, Viva!, The Jane Goodall Institute UK, and Open Cages – and supported by social network Care2.
The following celebrities have added their names: Alesha Dixon, Alison Steadman OBE, Sir Andy Murray OBE, Bill Bailey, Chris Packham, Douglas Booth, Evanna Lynch, Fearne Cotton,...

The term “post-prime Federer” has recently come into the sporting lexicon as a way to describe the great Swiss tennis star’s career in the years since his supposed peak ended in 2010; the rub here being that this unique entity has actually won more Grand Slam titles than Andy Murray, to take one example. Similar innocuous comparisons could soon be made for the prolificacy of “post-retirement Steven Soderbergh.” Indeed, it was never going to be easy for the director of Sex, Lies and Videotape to step away from the camera — his finger has always been too close to the pulse to ignore it, his inputs too wired to the cultural zeitgeist. Despite being shot months before the New York Times and New Yorker aired Weinstein’s dirty laundry, his latest effort, Unsane — which is essentially a b-movie in many respects — is arguably the first psychological horror of the #MeToo era.
