Karina Hjorth was born in Randers as the youngest of four children.
Acting and performing has always been an interest of hers starting in
an early age with singing, dancing and acting in smaller groups with
her friends performing for other friends and family members.
However, besides a few school plays it wasn't until 2004 after having
finished her studies that she actually started looking into her
options. Due to being born with Osteogensis Imperfecta - mostly known
as brittle bone disease - working the business has often times included
having to prove that acting and being disabled do work together quite
nicely.
Karina has also participated in a campaign focusing on disabled people
working under the same conditions as other people.
She's a regular collector of donations for Save The Children Denmark and has ever since 2007 participated in the annual national collection.
She has been running the biggest unofficial website for the popular Danish band Shu-Bi-Dua since 1999. The page was even mentioned in the auto biography written by former band member, Jørgen Thorup.
