Beth Kander was named Best Jackson Writer by the Jackson Free Press in
2011 and 2009. Recent honors include Best Writer, "The Retirement
Party," 48 Hour Film Project (City: Jackson; "The Retirement Party"
also won Best Film and is continuing on to nationals) and the 2012
Charles M. Getchell New Play Award (SETC) for her new play "Scrambled."
Recent publications include the children's book "Glubbery Gray" (Pelican Publishing, 2010) and two full length plays ("Scrambled" and "See Jane Quit," 2012, both available from Steele Spring Theatrical Licensing), among others and with more on the way.
As an actress, Beth has appeared in several short films including "Sense" (Eyevox Entertainment), "Shock" (Chris Spear), and the book trailer for "Night of the Living Trekkies" (Justin Lutsky / Quirk Books).
Possibly most interesting, Beth has an adorable rescue dog named Dov who was in a viral video, which landed him on Web Soup, Attack of the Show, and even in Jay Leno's monologue on Late Night. Seriously. Her working life goal, along with making the world a better place, is to be more famous than her dog.
