They say when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade. So when fortune and circumstance result in several hands either recovering from injury or shooting their latest role in a movie no one will ever see, you center storylines around CW superstars and vicious valets.

On Thursday, June 12th, WWE released ten in-ring superstars. Anytime WWE decides to release talent en masse, it is met with considerable amounts of criticism from the WWE Universe as fans usually have particular under-pushed favorites who get the axe. However, unlike other firing sprees, this particular cycle was met with less hubbub and cynicism than others.
For once, WWE may have actually fired ten performers who were truly expendable. Thus, on levels of expendability, the ten releases will be ranked, and as the list shrinks, stars who at this moment have minimal potential worth to the company, but could have worth at a later time, will be highlighted as well.

This Sunday is the biggest day on the calendar year for those of us who still prefer this Steve Austin over the one from The Six Million Dollar Man and who still get the urge to patriotically tear off our shirts whenever this terrible Rick Derringer song kicks in. It’s WrestleMania XXX (that’s XXX as in “30,” not in porn terms), and it’s airing live from New Orleans on Sunday night.
I’m particularly excited for this iteration of the show thanks to the development that has completely re-aligned the way I watch and think about the WWE’s theatrical grappling arts.

So, we’re almost there. The biggest professional wrestling show of the year is about to happen, WrestleMania XXX, and so, before it does happen, let’s take a look at the matches that are currently being planned for the New Orleans supershow on April 7th.
WWE confirmed a couple of weeks ago that there would be a two hour pre-show airing on YouTube, WWE.com and the WWE Network in various ways. The pre-show is set to include an star-panel that will discuss the upcoming matches and give their thoughts. We will also get some pre-show in-ring action to wet our appetite for the main card.

Previously on: The crowd loves Daniel Bryan, The Shield and The Wyatt Family. They hate practically everyone else, which is making for a very bizarre "Wrestlemania" buildup. Thankfully, The Undertaker returned, which lit up the crowd,. Hulk Hogan did too, but was far less effective.
The big news: The main draw of the show wasn't anything that happened on the episode, but rather what didn't: Cm Punk is still gone. As expected, the first "WWE Raw" from his hometown of Chicago, since he walked out after the "Royal Rumble," was pretty insane.
Right away, the show started with loud and clear Punk chants and they never ended. That's why it was a surprise when his music his and his face appeared on the video screen. It was all a clever ploy by Paul Heyman though, which is just mean. Heyman had many nice things to say about Punk, but it...

The WWE Superstar promised an epic face-off with the current World Heavyweight Champion — and he did Not disappoint!
John Cena‘s feud with Randy Orton has never been more intense, and on the Feb. 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, their rivalry came to a head — or, rather, Randy’s head came to the mat. Cena promised that his match against Orton would shift “the future” of his time with the WWE and I think it’s safe to say he made good on that promise.
John Cena Vs. Randy Orton — Is Their Feud Squashed?
To be fair, Orton put up a heck of a fight before eventually succumbing to The Prototype’s barrage of Attitude Adjustments. And if audience support is at all a factor, Orton was pretty much doomed from the start, as the massive crowd was not in his favor last night.

Previously on: Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton and the crowd wanted Cm Punk. Unfortunately for them, he walked out and John Cena was sidelined with an injury.
The big news: Cena was back and his eye was healed, so he'll be good to go for "Elimination Chamber." He fought Orton in the main event of "WWE Raw."
The two had a great match, which included a Ddt from the top rope and an attempted punt by Orton. After trading finishers, it was Cena who got the win with a top rope leg drop and an Attitude Adjustment. Cena is in an interesting spot as "Wrestlemania XXX" gets closer. He's presumably not going to be in the title picture and was rumored at one point to be facing Bray Wyatt. The Wyatt Family is tied to The Shield at the moment though, so who knows where he'll end up.

One night after the 2014 "Royal Rumble" and it looks like this will be an interesting episode of "WWE Raw." Not for the reasons WWE had hoped, though. When the show went off the air with Batista winning the 30-man match, destined for the "Wrestlemania XXX" main event, the audience booed loudly.
Something special and unique to professional wrestling happened during the show, and has been building to this point for months. The crowd wanted to see Daniel Bryan enter the match and win. After losing early in the show, they had convinced themselves he would end the night on top of the world.
That didn't happen though, which angered the fans. Even WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley registered his unhappiness with the outcome.
Now WWE have an interesting conundrum on their hands. Batista's return to the company has been their biggest announcement of the year and something they need to see through.

It's a very special episode of "WWE Raw," as WWE turns back the clock to take things old school. That means a retro arena design, an old ring and several returning legends to delight the fans.
Scheduled to appear on the show are "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Bob Backlund, Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, The New Age Outlaws, IRS, Ron Simmons, Scotty 2 Hotty and Diamond Dallas Page. Of course, WWE always trots out quite a few surprises on these special episodes as well, so there's no telling what they have in store.
There's also the ongoing story lines, leading up to the "Royal Rumble." Daniel Bryan will debut as part of the Wyatt Family, Brock Lesnar is back, Cm Punk continues to make The Shield look like fools, and John Cena and Randy Orton return after missing last week's show.

Previously on: Randy Orton is king of the mountain as WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but Daniel Bryan is the man the people want to see. John Cena is still the star, though. Everyone else seems a bit lost in the shuffle.
The big news: There's not much of note. The holidays have arrived for WWE, giving "WWE Raw" a heavy Christmas vibe. Christmas carol singing contests, Divas wrestling in sexy Christmas costumes, and evil Santa Claus vs. good Santa Claus are the types of things you see when WWE is burning time until the new year.
The Authority kicks things off Monday (Dec. 23) by handing out candy to kids in the crowd, setting up matches for the night and letting Kane do his old fire shtick, which seems weird with Santa hats involved. They also give Orton the night off, one week after telling him he needed to be a fighting champion.

Find out how Randy managed to take down The Big Show, then get all the results from one of the WWE’s biggest nights!
WWE Champion Randy Orton had the cards stacked against him when he faced The Big Show on Nov. 24 during the title match of WWE Survivor Series. As the organization’s official site points out, Randy has relied heavily on the interference of outside forces to retain his title, but Triple H made it clear that all Survivor Series face-offs would be strictly one-on-one. So how did the Viper manage to slither his way to victory?
Despite Triple H being adamant about no one interfering in the match, that’s exactly how Randy ended up winning! The Big Show was clearly going to steal the title from Randy — until Triple H, Kane and Stephanie McMahon showed up to distract the world’s largest athlete. Without physically intervening,...

Since The Authority has made themselves known in WWE over the last few months, many have found the product hard to watch. For a while there was solace in the development of Nxt as a micro-universe inside the overall WWE corporate struct. But more and more, there seems to be crossover in the last few weeks. With the mention of Xavier Woods and the addition of Jbl as the interim general manager of the show, no place is safe from the Authority. Let’s talk about it, beginning with this week’s Main Event.
Main Event comes to you from Birmingham, Alabama this week. The Miz and Josh Matthews are on commentary for this episode. Matthews with his shoulder in a sling is selling the attack by all Alberto del Rio last Friday on Smackdown. Apparently he didn’t care of the unsafe work environment that he complained about after the incident.

When the Main Event was relaunched last year, reports were that Ion Television , specifically said they didn’t want it to become another Superstars. Apparently one year later, that plan has gone we have to wonder if the Wednesday night program will go the way of the dodo? Remember when they would build matches on Main Event with video packages having one featured contest? Now, it just seems like another show. If you need any illustration that this happened, check out this week’s episode from Columbus, Ohio.
We begin the night with Josh Matthews and Alex Riley at the announce desk. Riley’s arm is in a sling apparently after having shoulder surgery. I guess the Miz isn’t coming back anytime soon.
The action begins with a three on two handicap match with Tons of Funk versus 3Mb. The match is nothing really special. Although seeing Brodus Clay...

Coming into this Monday’s Raw, there was a lot of ill will from a lot of fans. After a what felt like a lazy finish surrounding the Big Show coming out of Battleground, WWE had a lot to make up for on this weeks episode. Did they deliver? Let’s talk about it.
The show begins with the woman now announced as “a principal owner” of the WWE Stephanie McMahon making her way to the ring. "WWE Battleground" is in the books and it left a less than positive impression on those who tuned in. The show ended with a finish that wasn't a finish, as Big Show appeared and knocked out both Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan, meaning there was no winner of the WWE Championship match. So the company is still without a top champion.
Elsewhere on the show, Cm Punk was able to get a measure of revenge on Paul Heyman, by cheating himself to a win over Ryback. However, the best match of the night featured Cody Rhodes and Goldust scoring a win over The Shield to get their jobs back in WWE. Of course, seeing as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are evil, they'll surely make things difficult for the Rhodes family.

WWE and 2K Games have finally made the long-awaited roster announcement for their upcoming WWE 2K14 video game, boasting a surprisingly beefy line-up of over 80 superstars. In addition to the 30 Years of WrestleMania roster already announced, we were given a full list of the WWE Superstars and Divas who would be filling out 2K Games’ first time publishing a wrestling game (albeit still with the same developers as before, Yukes).
It’s safe to say that, as in every year, there are a few notable omissions from the roster – Curtis Axel, Rob Van Dam, Big E. Raw opens with Mr and Mrs Triple H making their way to the ring as the locker room members who helped Daniel Bryan on last week’s closing moments of Raw are standing on the stage. The Shield are standing beside the ring. Triple H talks about how he is proud of the superstars for stepping up and that they should be upset that Bryan is getting (another) WWE Championship match at Battleground. Triple H and Stephanie then make a big elimination 11 on 3 tag match for later on the show as The Shield take on Rvd, Bryan, The Uso’s, Prime Time Players, R Truth, Dolph Ziggler, Justin Gabriel, Zack Ryder and Kofi Kingston. The announcers and wrestlers look confused as to why Triple H and Stephanie have put The Shield in a difficult position. Something fishy is going on methinks.

Raw begins with the new WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan, making his way to the ring to a loud reaction from the Cleveland crowd. Bryan celebrates in the ring but is quickly interrupted by the COO of WWE, Triple H. Triple H tells Bryan that there was a fast count in his match at Night of Champions and brings out the official referee from that match, Scott Armstrong. Armstrong says that he and Bryan had worked together, and Triple H proceeds to strip Bryan of the title as Orton leaves him lying with an Rko.
Backstage, Stephanie tells Orton that he isn’t what he used to be and that they might have to find a different face of the company if he didn’t prove himself. Orton looks angry.

Welcome to this weeks WWE Smackdown review and overview.
The show opens this week with Big Show making his way to the ring as the announcers sell how much he’s been through in the last few weeks. Big show reads from a piece of paper about how he did a bad job on Raw and apologises to Triple H and the other wrestlers. It’s obviously done to put Show over as a conflicted babyface who’s being forced to do things against his will by his tyrannical bosses. Triple H makes his way to the ring to a loud heel reaction. Hunter thanks Big Show for his apology and tells him that he isn’t picking on him, he’s just being a business man. Triple H is excellent in this role, I must say. Show sells frustration and anger in the ring as Triple H suspends him without pay for the night,...

There many different locations in the WWE universe that have garnered much respect. We have the sacred ground of Madison Square Garden, the Allstate arena in Chicago and the Boston Garden. But out of all locations WWE has been, there’s nothing more fun than when WWE goes to “Bizarro World” in Toronto Air Canada Center.. And it’s only fitting that the bizarre one Goldust returns this past Monday from Toronto to avenge his brother attempting to get Cody’s job back against the WWE champion, Randy Orton.

Welcome to our weekly in-depth review of WWE Raw.
Raw is live from Toronto, Canada tonight and we start off the show with Toronto’s own, and WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. Edge gets a loud response from his hometown crowd and looking at his energy as he makes his way to the ring, he looks to have missed this wrestling gig. Edge says he was asked to come to Raw by Triple H because it would be “good for business” for Edge and Randy Orton to have a reunion, as they were former tag team partners. Edge says that talking to Randy Orton “is like watching paint dry”. The fans love Edge and his sarcasm and humorous remarks. Edge says he’s not interested in talking to Randy Orton, but has another guest in mind, and introduces Daniel Bryan, who gets a huge pop from the Canadian crowd.

"WWE Raw" was live from Toronto, Ontario, Canada for the last Monday night show before the "Night of Champions" pay per view. Company COO Triple H and his wife, Stephanie McMahon, have been running Raw with an iron fist, after declaring that Randy Orton was the new face of WWE. Somewhere, John Cena cried a little.
The big news: WWE Hall of Famer Edge returned, much to the delight of his hometown crowd. Unfortunately, it didn't last long as Triple H kicked him out of the building after the two hurled insults at each other. Edge built up Daniel Bryan as a viable contender for the WWE Championship, while Triple H continued to tear him down. It ended with Triple H's muscle, The Shield, beating up Edge's friend Christian. When Edge tried went after Hunter, he got kicked out of the building.

The roster sheepishly looks around, only a couple of guys speak up. Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam. We also hear Ryback, Damien Sandow and Heath Slater sucking up to “The Game”. After Monday’s Raw, the corporate machine has really made an impact on the WWE roster. With the breakdown of the world’s largest athlete and the firing of Cody Rhodes, it definitely seems to be a theme of the wrong place wrong time with the new regime. And that carried over strangely to Main Event and Nxt as weird booking was in effect.

Since their debut in November 2012, The Shield has definitely changed the landscape of the WWE. Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose have brought justice to the developmental system by making first impressions all the more important. However, in recent weeks, it seemed the three have taken a backseat to other storylines and showed vulnerability piling up losses. This week justice looks to be a priority again on this week’s Main Event and Nxt.
Let’s start with the first of two appearances on this weeks edition of The Main Event. The show begins with a six man tag rematch from last week’s Monday Night Raw as the Usos and Mark Henry battle The Shield. Really solid opening contest with good back and forth between the two trios. The babyfaces start off really hot dominating until the first commercial break and then it switches as the Hounds of Justice take control.

The babyfaces start off really hot dominating until the first commercial break and then it switches as the Hounds of Justice take control.

This week’s edition of WWE Nxt comes to us from Providence, Rhode Island. Josh Matthews and the Miz welcome the audience on commentary as action begins with Christian versus Fandango. Now when you first hear those two are paired together, you would think the match was subpar . Far from the case, the former Johnny Curtis really brought it. Fandango seems to be on a roll when it comes to strong matches.
(And it should be mentioned that Summer Rae is awesome in her role. From her reactions to her mannerisms on the outside. She is so great and will probably go unappreciated by most fans. But she is awesome at what she does. She really adds a lot to the overall presentation of Fandango.)
Christian gets the victory with a surprise roll up. I’m sure Captain Charisma would’ve smiled more if he didn’t need a root...

This week both WWE Main Event and Nxt had quite an interesting showing featuring former champions in action. From the Peeps and Jericholics to the Emmalation of true Bolievers, all fan bases were well represented for the most part. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, how about we begin with this week’s Main Event from Gamecock country North Charleston, South Carolina.
We open this weeks episode back with a two-man booth as the Miz and Josh Matthews welcome us the show. Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring for his Wednesday night debut against last week’s color commentator extraordinaire Cody Rhodes. Overall, a really good back and forth match as to be expected. Unfortunately, it wasn’t in the booking sheet for Cody Rhodes this week as he takes a loss in the Walls of Jericho.
I don’t mind that Cody loses to...
