The Olivier Award-winning West End revival of Cabaret is coming to Broadway: Producers announced that the acclaimed musical will begin previews at the August Wilson Theater in spring 2024.
Not confirmed: Whether the West End production’s original 2021 stars Eddie Redmayne (as the Emcee) or Jessie Buckley (as Sally Bowles) will make the move. Redmayne’s participation, in particular, has been widely speculated, prompted in part by his participation in this year’s Tony Awards tribute to Cabaret composer John Kander and actor Joel Grey, who played the Emcee in the original Broadway production as well as the 1972 movie version.
The West End revival – officially titled Cabaret At The Kit Kat Club – swept the 2022 Olivier Awards with seven wins including Best Musical Revival, Best Actor and Actress in a Musical (Redmayne and Buckley), and Best Director (Rebecca Frecknall). Supporting Actor and Actress in a Musical awards went to Elliot Levey and Liza Sadovy.

As a kid growing up in Aberdeen, she rebelled against singing. Now she’s proving sensational in the classic Weimar musical – but finds its present-day parallels chilling
Let’s get one thing straight: although Amy Lennox sings and is Scottish, she is not related to Annie Lennox. She is, however, used to people making the assumption. She laughs, remembering a breakfast radio appearance from 2016 on which the host kept referring to Annie, thinking it was her mum.
“I was half-asleep,” she says. “Then the penny dropped and – on live radio – I said: ‘Oh my God! You think my mum’s Annie Lennox.’ And the producers behind the glass went – she throws a hand up over her mouth and opens her eyes wide. “Everyone was flapping. I thought, ‘I’m going to let you sit on this. You deserve it.’” She laughs again. Sure, both Lennoxes are from Aberdeen. But Amy...

Some movie producer made a wrong turn somewhere.
Since 2003’s “Wrong Turn” with Eliza Dushku and Emmanuelle Chriqui, the “Wrong Turn” series has become a cult favorite for its die hard fans.
“Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines” marked its fifth entry into the franchise with a certain twist—the favorite hillbilly cannibals are not stalking for victims in the mountain forests this time, but in a small town.
The backdrop of the movie has a small West Virginia town hosting the Mountain Man Festival on Halloween (think Lollapalooza meets Burning Man Festival).
One of the members of the cannibal family was arrested and jailed in town, and then it was up to the three brothers to rescue their family. However, the local sheriff and a few out-of-town visitors defend themselves from this oncoming attack.

*there are spoilers here. Director/writer: Declan O'Brien. Cast: Doug Bradley, Roxanne McKee, Camilla Arfwedson, Borislav Iliev, Peter Brooke, Paul Luebke, Kyle Redmond-Jones, Radoslav Parvanov, Amy Lennox, Duncan Wisbey, Oliver Hoare, George Karlukovski, and Simon Ginty. The Wrong Turn series of films has become a little confusing to follow. Two mutant hillbillies were killed in the original Wrong Turn film: Saw Tooth and One Eye. This left Three Finger alone to fight in Wrong Turn 2: Dead End and Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead. Three Finger's deformed son Three Toes would participate in the second sequel. And, in Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, the action begins after Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings and before the original Wrong Turn and the next two sequels. Are you confused now too? Director Declan O'Brien has had to play around with the timeline of this horror franchise a bit as many of the...

With writer/director Declan O’Brien’s Wrong Turn 5 having wrapped today in Bulgaria, here are an exclusive and extensive photo gallery from our set visit and an update on the production. Read on!
Having just returned from four days on the Sofia, Bulgaria set (the production at the time was shooting at UFO Studios just outside the city), here’s a bit of a casting update. As we previously reported, television actress Camilla Arfwedson has joined the cast of the film as ‘Sheriff Angela,’ the female lead who finds herself at odds with the series’ backwoods nemeses The Hillicker Brothers, this time portrayed by Bobi Dilev as ‘Three Finger’ (the only actor to ever reprise that role in the series), Radoslav Purvanov as ‘One Eye’ and Georgi Karlukovski as ‘Saw Tooth.’
Joining them are actors Simon Ginty as ‘Billy,’ Oliver Hoare as ‘Julian,’ Amy Lennox as ‘Cruz,’ Paul Luebke (Djinn) as ‘Gus,...

Katie Mitchell made her name directing difficult, bleak drama for adults. But since the birth of her daughter, Edie, when she was 41, she has discovered a knack for madcap, fast-paced kids' shows
Katie Mitchell, theatre's harbinger of doom, "the princess of darkness", is known for being one of the most serious and uncompromising of British theatre directors. Her productions – Bruckner's Pains of Youth, say, or Euripides' Women of Troy – involve intense rehearsal periods and scour the depths of human emotion and behaviour. She enjoys using the word "rigorous" and mentioning Stanislavski and "complex psychological ideas". She is inspired by eastern European theatre, in particular the work of Pina Bausch; her favourite film is Tarkovsky's plotless The Mirror (1975); she cites Rothko as her favourite artist. So she is not necessarily the first person you would imagine directing a children's show, Beauty and the Beast (age group eight to 12), complete with insect orchestras and goldfish-swallowing,...
