Max George has publicly shared his grief after the death of his friend and fellow The Wanted singer Tom Parker.
Parker died in March 2022 from glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumour, two years after a terminal diagnosis.
He had been a member of the band since 2009, along with George, Jay McGuiness, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes.
George is currently a participant in the Channel 4 celebrity experiment, Scared of the Dark, in which familiar faces spend a week in total darkness.
On Wednesday’s edition (19 April) of the nightly programme, the one-time Strictly Come Dancing contestant opened up about learning of Parker’s ill health and his prognosis.
“I was shooting a movie and it was the last day of filming and my phone rang and it was Kelsey [Parker’s wife] and I was like, oh that’s a nice surprise.”

For The Wanted, absence definitely made the heart grow fonder. "I think I speak on behalf of everyone, in the time away from it, it gave me time to reflect and appreciate what we'd achieved and how good our music actually was," said Max George, who along with Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes made up the platinum-selling group behind such songs as "Glad You Came" and "We Own the Night" before they disbanded in 2014. "Because at the time we were doing it, it was so packed in that we didn't get to really appreciate how much we enjoyed each other's company or how good our music was because...like, every day, it was all a bit...

More and more Hollywood stars, top musicians, pro athletes, and influential YouTubers are joining the vegan ranks, so the competition for the Hottest Vegan Celebrities of 2018 contest was tougher than ever — but Jaden Smith and the Chloe x Halle sisters have come out on top.
In addition to being an entertainment industry jack-of-all-trades, actor and musician Jaden — who’s newly vegan — reveals that he’s also a whiz in the kitchen. Discussing his favorite meals in an interview with Food & Wine, he said, “I do cook at home because I can make meals for myself really easily, some brown rice, quinoa, beans, maybe some kale, maybe some herb aioli.” And when he’s visiting his famous family, he has plenty of options, too: “Usually, at my parents’ house, there are vegan pancakes,” he added.
Chloe and Halle Bailey went vegan after eating meat-free for a week with their mother, and they’ve never looked back.

Jay McGuiness has stashed his 'Strictly Come Dancing' Glitterball Trophy in his brother's ''downstairs toilet.'' The Wanted singer spent three months learning the tricky footwork and hip-snaking turns in order to be crowned king of the dance floor on the show last year, but it seems the handsome star hasn't found a permanent home for the fancy gong at the moment and is storing it beside the bog. Speaking on 'Loose Women' this morning (18.01.16), he explained him and his professional dance partner Aliona Vilani have a mini version of the trophy each. He said: ''We keep a smaller version of it,...

''After 7 years on Strictly Come Dancing, as my finale, this has been my best Strictly experience ever by a long way!'' Aliona joined the BBC show in 2007 and previously won with McFly's Harry Judd. Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood is concerned that fellow judge Bruno Tonilio might be trespassing onto his "nasty" turf with his recent criticisms and on-air swearing.
The notoriously cutting judge - who dressed up as a zombie bride for last weekend's Halloween-themed all-star dance - told Woman magazine that "Bruno is definitely becoming nastier".

"That's my turf! Perhaps I need to have a few words with him," he continued.
"I think it's because he's the tough judge in the States and that character is crossing over the pond.
"He needs to be careful he doesn't get too carried away and slip up again with a swear word, though."
Effusive Italian judge Tonilio described Jay McGuiness's paso doble with professional partner Aliona Vilani as "the bull's bollocks", for which the BBC later apologised.

The BBC have denied rumours that Strictly Come Dancing's Jay McGuiness and professional dance partner Aliona Vilani have had a series of blazing rows over Jay messaging other dancers from the show.
It had been claimed in The Sun that the 25-year-old Wanted singer has exchanged texts with dancers Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff, and fellow contestant Georgia May Foote.
But now a BBC Strictly source has told Digital Spy: "This story is complete nonsense, there have been no rows."
Jay scored an impressive total of 34 points with his American smooth to 'Lil Red Riding Hood' with Aliona over the weekend, and is currently placed at No. 2 in our ranking of potential Strictly winners.
The star also recently denied romance rumours with 31-year-old Russian-Kazakhstani Aliona - who married businessman Vincent Kavanagh last year - saying: "I'm not going to let them bother me and neither are Aliona and her husband.

Strictly Come Dancing had another classic Halloween episode this weekend, but of course it was scarier for some of the celebrities than others. But who looks like they might be out of the running and who is creeping closer to that Glitter Ball trophy?
Out of the running: Kirsty Gallacher
Well, this seems particularly cruel. Kirsty had finally started to turn things around last week and was creeping up our rankings… but then her Halloween Charleston went horribly wrong with slips and mistakes and she picked up her lowest score of the series before becoming the first woman to be booted out (she joins the series' other eliminees Iwan Thomas, Anthony Ogogo, Daniel O'Donnell and Ainsley Harriott). Bad luck, Kirsty.
10. Jamelia (⬇3)
It doesn't seem quite fair to have Jamelia at the bottom of the rankings. She's far from the worst dancer in the competition and she's been improving, too, but...

Strictly Come Dancing star Jay McGuiness has revealed that his professional partner Aliona Vilani has been forcing him to do push-ups.
Speaking on Strictly: It Takes Two, the Wanted star joked that he can't even fake the exercise because Vilani knows how it should be done - thanks to her former winner Harry Judd.
"There was a lot of working on my [arms this week] because I think I tend to slump and it was all about keeping your elbows up so we focused a lot on that," McGuiness said.
"Also, she made me do push-ups. Ten a day. But she makes me do them real, because Harry had great arms! She knows the real actual way of doing it, because I used to fake it."
But while McGuiness might have nailed his arms, he admitted that he still needs to improve on getting a character across, joking: "I think naturally with...

Strictly Come Dancing's latest victim Ainsley Harriott doesn't believe Bruno Tonioli meant to offend anyone after his gaffe on last night's show (October 24).
Tonioli caused a stir yesterday after describing Jay McGuiness' pasa doble as "the bull's bollocks".
Strictly Come Dancing: Ainsley Harriott and Natalie Lowe are the fourth couple to exit
Harriott said of the incident: "Well, I think it kind of reminds everybody that it is live television – things can happen like that.
"And you know, I can't really speak for Bruno or anybody else. It was such a quick thing that happened, and I thought that Tess [Daly] was spot on when she apologised to viewers.
"But it's the last thing you want to hear – you don't want to hear that type of thing on primetime television, Saturday night family TV. But it's live TV, and sometimes things do go wrong. I'm sure that he didn't mean it.

But who wowed the panel and who could be in danger? Digital Spy has the judges' comments and scores from all 12 dances here:
1. Georgia May Foote & Giovanni Pernice dancing the salsa to 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)' by Sylvester = 7+8+8+8=31
Len: "It was a great show starter and a bit of a show stopper. Terrific routine, a disco salsa. You were really working your assets. Well done – great start!"
Bruno: "You're a gorgeous little strumpet! Those hips were like a bag of steps. More of that please. It's good to see you so alive. Be careful of the lifts' dismount – that has to be absolutely flawless."

Oops, Strictly Come Dancing's Bruno Tonioli called Jay McGuiness's performance "the bull's bollocks"
Strictly Come Dancing viewers got more than they bargained for this evening from judge Bruno Tonioli.
After contestant Jay McGuiness and his partner Aliona Vilani danced the pasa doble to Bon Jovi's 'It's My Life', the judge blurted out the word "bollocks" in his response.
Strictly: Twitter gets confused over sausages and Bruno's bollocks
The BBC has since apologised for the outburst in a tweet:
We are sorry for any offence caused by Bruno's comment during the live show, for which Tess apologised immediately.
— BBC Strictly (@bbcstrictly) October 24, 2015
The judge said that the performance was "the bull's bollocks" and caused quite the reaction among the audience and judges, with Darcey Bussell physically putting her head in her hands.
However, McGuiness gained 8-9-8-8 from the panel, taking a total of 33.
Strictly Come Dancing: the Results airs on BBC One tomorrow evening at 7.15pm.

Strictly Come Dancing's Ola Jordan has revealed she wants Jay McGuiness to lift the glitterball trophy.
The 33-year-old Polish professional dancer - who exited the show with Olympian Iwan Thomas after week one - told Ok! Online that she "had big hopes from the day I met [Jay]".
"Everyone is so good. There are so many good dancers out there that you really don't know [who will win]," she went on.
"I think that Jay would be one of my favourites to win, but who's going to win? I don't know. It's hard to pick."
Two weekends ago, Wanted singer Jay became the first celebrity to receive a 10 for his impressive jive.
"I danced with Jay in the first celebrity group dance we did, and I could tell that he's a good dancer and he knows how to do it," the star recalled.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell has described Jeremy Vine as "gorgeous" - but suggested his long limbs are getting in his way.
Speaking on tomorrow's episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, Bussell admitted that she enjoys watching the broadcaster.
"He's gorgeous," she said. "I am a fan - he's kind of got an odd charm about him.
"But he does look like a giant spider and you want him to kind of be able to bring it all together and contain it and it's all a bit out there. But he's slowly getting it together."
Bussell added that Vine needs to calm down a bit on the show, saying: "It's weird with him because he gets very overexcited and with those limbs and with the excitement, it goes wild, so he doesn't appreciate that one step for him looks like a leap - it looks like a giant leap.

Strictly Come Dancing''s Katie Derham topped the leaderboard last weekend with her graceful Vienesse Waltz with professional dance partner Anton du Beke.
The 45-year-old TV newscaster has since reasoned that "some dances just suit us better than others" in her Strictly diary for The Telegraph.

Strictly Come Dancing star Jay McGuiness has admitted that he made every single mistake he could possibly make during his quickstep last Saturday.

Len: "Your hips certainly don't lie. A little bit long getting started but once you got into it… I thought you coped very well. I think it could have been better leg action, but I'm being pernickety."
Bruno: "That was warming up nicely. The samba has a carefree feel to it, but a couple of times there you got a little tangled and it kind of stopped it a little bit. The technique is actually very very hard. It was a bit on and off."

Despite getting the highest score of the series so far last week, Jay McGuiness didn't quite live up to expectations on tonight's episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
The Wanted singer was dancing the quickstep with Aliona Vilani to The Who's 'My Generation', but had a misstep.
The judges were not as enthusiastic as they were for McGuiness' jive last week, admitting that he wished he'd "done better" this week.
Judge Darcey Bussell said: "It was such a shame you made a mistake." However, she added: "Aliona gave you a very challenging quickstep and I know you can come back stronger next week."
"These things happen, it's a very fast dance, and unfortunately your feet were doing more than your brain can handle," Len Goodman said.

Frankie Bridge has defended Strictly Come Dancing's Jay McGuiness from criticism over his prior dance experience.
The Saturdays singer - who took part on the BBC One show last year and will perform in the upcoming Strictly tour - told Digital Spy at last night's Attitude Awards that someone's attacked over the issue every year.
"They criticise everyone for having dancing experience every year," she noted. "They always try and pick on people at some point - whether they've done dancing or not.
"People like Jay, or me because I was in a band, people go, 'Oh you've done this before'. I hadn't had any ballet training or ballroom training, getting up and dancing around on stage is a bit different. But that criticism comes out every year."

Anthony Ogogo has come out swinging after his exit from Strictly Come Dancing.
The boxer says that he believes the judges all scored him harshly and that, apart from Darcey Bussell, they didn't say goodbye after his exit.
"I do think the judges were quite critical of me. From the first week, I think I was scored quite harshly," he said.
Ogogo added that he felt, despite working with professional partner Oti Mabuse on righting previous errors, the judges never highlighted his improvements and just found more things to criticise.
"In my opinion, when other dancers weren't as technically brilliant as Helen George or Jay McGuiness, they'd attack it with strength, power, energy and enthusiasm," he said. "They were getting, 'Well done, it was good, you brought the energy'.
"Whereas if I did the same thing it was, 'Your feet weren't good enough, your hands are wrong and your arms are wrong'.

Anthony Ogogo believes he had one major disadvantage in Strictly Come Dancing.
The boxer, who became the second celebrity to leave this series, reckons he was not the "worst in the competition" but admitted he found it tough to compete against those with dance experience.
"I think when you're up against Jay McGuiness who's done ballet, and Helen George who's done ballet, and Peter Andre who's been a popstar, it's very, very hard to compete with those guys," he explained.
"People want to see entertaining dancers, people want to see people doing well, but I think people also like to see a good journey and I think each dance I have got better.
"By week five, week six, people would have been able to appreciate the full journey from never dancing before, week one doing a jive, to week six doing whatever I was going to do."

Len: "I thought that routine had far more content than previous weeks. I love the way you come out and enjoy yourself, and it made me enjoy it. A lovely bubbly dance."
2. Anthony Ogogo & Oti Mabuse dancing the Paso Doble to 'Eye of the Tiger' from Rocky: 4+6+5+4=19
Darcey: "It's your best dance so far, you have this energy – in your body, when you pose,...

Jay McGuiness wowed the judges on Strictly Come Dancing this evening, with Bruno Tonioli giving him the first 10 of the series.
The The Wanted singer was dancing the Jive to 'Misirlou/You Can Never Tell' from Pulp Fiction and got a score of 9-9-9-10 from the panel, totalling 37, the highest score of the series so far.
The dance saw McGuiness and partner Aliona Vilani dress up as John Travolta's Vincent Vega and Uma Thurman's Mia Wallace from the Quentin Tarantino film.
Their Jive mix of the two songs then got an overwhelming response from the judges.
Tonioli said ecstatically: "That was the blockbuster everybody was waiting for… you out-danced John Travolta and everyone else!"
Craig Revel Horwood added his enthusiasm, saying: "That was a level of technique we have never seen ever. Ah-ma-zing!"
After getting 9s from Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Len Goodman, the couple subsequently received a 10 from Tonioli.

Strictly's Anita Rani on Jay McGuiness: "He smashed the cha cha out of the ballpark!"
Speaking on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two last night (October 7), McGuiness said that while he planned to wait until later in the year, he brought the hair cut forward to help him perform the waltz last weekend.
"It's definitely helped with speed," he said on the show. "I was always going to cut it at the end of this year, and donate it to a charity that makes wigs for people.
"I brought it forward for the waltz because that's important too"

Ex-Strictly Come Dancing star Iwan Thomas has suggested Anita Rani is the "dark horse" in the competition and could go on to win it.
The 42-year-old Olympic athlete - who became the first celebrity contestant to exit the BBC1 ballroom competition with dance partner Orla Jordan - revealed to Digital Spy his surprise at how good the Countryfile presenter turned out to be.
"I think she's [Rani] got a chance to do really, really well. I don't know if she's got any dance background - I've known her for years she's never told me she can dance like that so I was really pleasantly surprised to see her on the opening show and just how good she was," he enthused.
"She's probably someone that the public should look out for, I think she could be the dark horse - she could do really well. She may not quite be as...

Iwan Thomas became the first crestfallen celebrity contestant to exit Strictly Come Dancing last weekend along with professional dance partner Orla Jordan.
The 42-year-old Olympic athlete told Digital Spy that he would have liked "nicer" comments from some of the stricter judges, because while he admits he's not a natural dancer, he put his all into his performances.
"To put so much hard work into something and then you get - I won't say the word slated but you know when you get remarks that you think are slightly unfair then it's quite hard to take," he recalled of the comments made by judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.
"Look, I know I'm not a good dancer, but I think it would have been nicer to hear something along the lines of, 'I know you're clearly not a good dancer but respect to you for throwing everything into that dance'.
