Shoshana Sachi is a Kiwi Screenwriter and Author, living in Los Angeles. She was born in Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia, and moved to New Zealand at the age of fifteen. She studied at The University of Waikato, NZ, and
undertook a Masters in Fine Arts; Screenwriting, at the University of California Los Angeles- where she was the
first New Zealander to ever be admitted into the program. She specializes in horror, thriller, and crime genres,
and is especially adept in combining impactful perceptions on human psychology with a fascination with
supernatural myths, death practices, and dark fairy tales.
She has won numerous awards for her screenplays, including The NZWG Screen Grant in 2016, two
consecutive wins at the UCLA Showcase Awards (2015, 2016), as well as accolades for excellence in
screenwriting from the Eleanor Perry Writing fellowship by Women in Film, Hollywood, and David Koepp
(Jurassic Park, Secret Window).
Her most notable work includes the dystopian horror novel set in Hamilton, New Zealand, entitled: The Way of
the River.
