Gunn helmed of the DC Universe in 2022 and subsequently shared his plans for Chapter 1, Gods & Monsters, which included several projects. This includes multiple animated shows along with films featuring Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Swamp Things, and The Authority.

As SAG-AFTRA and the WGA continue to strike and fight for a new deal, the picket lines are remaining full. In fact, they’re so full that multiple series have seen cast and crew reunions while marching.
Some have been spontaneous, as old colleagues run into each other by chance at a given location. Others have been planned, making sure to get as many members out on the lines as possible. So, we rounded up some of the biggest ones, ranging from shows long since ended, to those still fresh in our hearts.
You can check out some of the biggest reunions in the photos below.

Los Angeles, Aug 12 (Ians) Actor Stephen Amell best known for his role in ‘Arrow’ as the superhero Green Arrow, has joined the picket lines of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikers just weeks after protesting their stance, as the actor had earlier proceeded to call their strike as very harmful to the industry.
The ‘Arrow’ star was spotted alongside his wife Cassandra Jean Amell in Manhattan on Friday, holding a picket sign and wearing a SAG-AFTRA Strong T-shirt. The actor had been heavily criticised for his comments against the strikers, as he had labeled it an “ineffective negotiation strategy”.
Since then though, Amell seems to have changed his stance, whether due to the high criticism he received or just a change of mind his unknown. As reported by Variety, the actor clarifying his stance said: “I support my union, I do. And I stand with them. I do not support striking.

Weeks after delivering anti-strike comments during a fan convention, actor Stephen Amell was spotted on the picket line in New York on Friday. Wearing a black “SAG-AFTRA Strong” and carrying a sign, Amell was on the other side of the country from his former “Arrow” costars and creative team, who struck together in front of Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank during a planned reunion picket. Those attending the reunion picket Friday included “Arrow” actors Kirk Acevedo, Katie Cassidy, Juliana Harkavy, Willa Holland, Katrina Law and Caity Lotz, as well as executive producers Marc Guggenheim, Wendy Mericle and Beth Schwartz.
Amell earned criticism from fellow union members after seeming to speak critically about the strike on July 30 at Galaxycon in Raleigh, N.C. in a widely-distribted clip.

The following contains major spoilers for Last Shift (2014) and Malum (2023).
Nothing divides the horror community like a remake. For decades fans have debated the merits of cinematic retellings of our most beloved horror films with strong arguments on either side of the equation. The trend exploded in the early 2000s with Platinum Dunes leading the charge to remake or reboot nearly every iconic title available. Recent years have seen the rise of legacy sequels; a curious hybrid that simultaneously continues the original story and (hopefully) takes the franchise in a new direction. Enter Malum. Anthony Diblasi’s 2023 gore-fest is an expanded reimagining of his own breakout film Last Shift. Released in 2014, this haunting cult horror follows rookie police officer Jessica Loren (Juliana Harkavy) whose first shift on the job goes terrifyingly wrong.

I don't think there has been a superhero television series with an as expansive legacy as "Arrow." Premiering on The CW in 2012, the series not only ran for impressive eight seasons but spawned the "Arrowverse," a shared television universe. "Arrow" led to the creation of "The Flash," "Legends of Tomorrow," and more, with these DC Comics-inspired series regularly crossing over with one another. The show stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, a playboy who returns to his hometown of Star City after presumingly being stranded on a remote island for five years, as the vigilante Green Arrow.
Initially coming out the gate as a dark and gritty take on the Green Arrow mythos, "Arrow" let itself get weird and leaned into its comic book origins for an entertaining, if uneven, superhero show. There is a wide range of quality across the show's entire run, from its attempts to visibly...

ABC has given L.A. Law the (elevator) shaft, opting not to order a potential revival of the legal drama to series, TVLine has learned.

Juliana Harkavy, best known for playing Black Canary across the Arrowverse, is set for a lead role in the pilot for ABC‘s L.A. Law revival. As reported by Deadline, Harkavy will join Blair Underwood and Corbin Bernsen, both of whom starred in the original series as Jonathan Rollins and Arnie Becker, respectively. The updated take on the Steven Bochco legal drama also stars new cast members Hari Nef (Transparent), Toks Olagundoye (Castle), Ian Duff (We Own This City), and John Harlan Kim (9-1-1). Harkavy will play savvy attorney Yvette Cabrera, who is described as a “legal badass.” She will clash in the courtroom with Alana (Nef) in a controversial, headline-snatching case, made all the more complicated by the pair’s past as lovers. Fans of The CW's Arrow were dealt a huge blow just a few days ago when the network officially passed on the long-gestating Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff.
Katherine McNamara, who was set to lead the cast as Mia Queen, the newest iteration of the Arrow superhero, has spoken out about the sad news on Twitter.
"Needless to say, I am heartbroken... would've loved to go on the journey with #MiaSmoak," the actress wrote on Twitter after the news dropped.
"Thanks to everyone for their love and support. #GreenArrowandtheCanaries #OlicityBaby #GreenArrow @TheCW," she concluded.
It was a short and sweet message, but it's unfortunate that fans will not be able to follow the Star City 2040 storyline with Mia, Laurel (Katie Cassidy), and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy).
McNamara first arrived as Mia Smoak on Arrow Season 7 and became a more prominent presence on Arrow Season 8 when more details were revealed about the character.

The CW just announced that Green Arrow and the Canaries, the spinoff sequel to Arrow which came to a close last year after 8 seasons, is no longer in development.
The last outing of Oliver Queen not only served as the ultimate swan song for the character that kickstarted the multiverse of heroes on the network all those years ago, but it was also a hopeful reflection on the history of the series and its future. After all, we know that the final season’s penultimate episode, “Green Arrow & the Canaries,” served as a backdoor pilot for a spinoff centering around the adventures of the vigilante’s daughter, Mia Smoak, set in 2040’s Star City. Backdoor pilots can often be a tricky thing to accomplish, especially if they’re placed into TV projects that already boast a huge built-in fanbase. Whether it was the intention or not, the seventh episode of Stranger Things season 2 certainly appeared to be designed with the intention of gauging audience interest in a spinoff following other people like Eleven, but “The Lost Sister” is regarded as arguably the show’s lowest point.
On the other side of the coin, Arrow‘s “Green Arrow & The Canaries” went down a storm with fans. With Stephen Amell wrapping up his tenure as Oliver Queen, the only one of the show’s 170 episodes that didn’t feature the leading man gave an indication of how the concept could be continued in the future, with Katherine McNamara’s Mia, Katie Cassidy’s Lauren and Juliana Harkavy’s Dinah comfortably taking center stage.

The network had been hedging their bets with the proposed show for a while, so fans had braced themselves for some bad news on this front, and at last, they’ve finally gone ahead and pulled the plug on it.
Green Arrow and the Canaries was to follow Katherine McNamara’s Mia Smoak and her allies, Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), as they fought crime in honor of Mia’s fallen father, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), in the futuristic Star City of 2040. The penultimate episode of Arrow season 8 was dedicated to setting up the spinoff, too, as it picked up the threads of the altered timeline established in “Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Green Arrow and the Canaries is no longer targeting a spot on The CW's schedule.
The network has passed over the series, which first aired as a backdoor pilot during Arrow Season 8.
The cast would have included Arrow vets Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy, and Juliana Harkavy, taking their characters to the 2040 timeline first introduced in the parent series.
In the backdoor pilot, Laurel Lance (Cassidy) arrived in the year 2040 to recruit fellow Canary Dinah Drake (Harkavy) and new Green Arrow Mia Smoak (McNamara) to fight a new threat.
Secretly, however, Laurel was also trying to stop Mia from bringing the city to its knees, which was foretold.
The special episode boasted 890,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating, which was higher than every Arrow episode during its final season aside from a crossover episode.
It's certainly surprising the show didn't get the green light because, when you think about it, the response to the spinoff was largely positive.

The “Arrow” spinoff that would have starred Kat McNamara as Oliver Queen’s daughter is no longer moving forward at The CW, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
McNamara, who was introduced during Season 7 of “Arrow” as Mia Smoak, Queen’s (Stephen Amell) daughter, would have starred in the new series with Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy, who have portrayed two different versions of Black Canary (now known as “The Canaries”).
The potential series, which would have been called “Green Arrow and the Canaries,” aired a backdoor pilot during “Arrow’s” final season last year. Marc Guggenheim and “Arrow” showrunner Beth Schwartz wrote the script for the “Arrow” spinoff.
Along with “Arrow,” two more DC Comics series at The CW, “Black Lightning” and “Supergirl,” are also headed into their final seasons. The network is debuting “Superman & Lois” this year, and is developing a number of DC Comics projects,...

The potential “Arrow” spinoff about the Canaries is officially dead at CW, Variety has learned.
Plans for the show were first announced in September 2019, six months after it was announced that “Arrow” would end after its eighth season. A backdoor pilot aired in January 2020 as part of “Arrow” Season 8, titled “Green Arrow & The Canaries.” The episode took place two decades after the end of the original show and starred Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance, and Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake.
Cassidy began with “Arrow” in the show’s pilot, though she was killed off in Season 4 before returned in Season 6. McNamara first joined “Arrow” in its seventh season. Harkavy had been with “Arrow” since Season 5 and has also appeared in multiple “Arrow”-verse shows.

“Lovecraft Country” marks the second time Jurnee Smollett and creator Misha Green have worked together, extending their creative relationship from two seasons on Wgn’s historical drama “Underground” to HBO’s buzzy horror series, based on the novel of the same name by Matt Ruff. The show is executive produced by Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams.
But it’s the possibility of a third collaboration that has comic fans buzzing: could Smollett reprise her role as Black Canary in DC Films’ “Birds of Prey” in a Green-helmed project?
Smollett laughs, saying those conversations are above her pay grade. “It’s no secret how much I love Black Canary. It’s a dream, character and was a dream to play her,” she tells Variety. “If [the] dynamics fell in the right way, I would absolutely do it in a heartbeat, and Lord knows, I follow Misha wherever she leads me.”

While the story of Oliver Queen came to a close in the eighth and final season of Arrow, the penultimate episode served as a backdoor pilot for a spinoff series centering around his daughter.
Mia Queen, played by Katherine McNamara, had a huge role in the Green Arrow’s last outing and the “Crisis” event, during which she fought side by side with her father and even helped Sara and John Constantine resurrect him through the Lazarus Pit. Ever since making her debut in season 7, though, we’ve slowly come to realize that Mia’s part in the Arrowverse is more than just a reminiscence for the story of Oliver. Now that the former Green Arrow has sacrificed himself to rebirth the multiverse, Mia has taken up the mantle of her father to become the next protector of Star City.

Arrow concluded after eight seasons this past January, bringing an emotional end to the Emerald Archer’s adventures. The handy thing about the Arrowverse, though, is that the rest of Team Arrow could feasibly crossover onto any other show in The CW’s DC shared universe. Perhaps the most obvious choice is Legends of Tomorrow, as the Waverider has always been home to characters from other corners of the franchise. It seems that two former Arrow stars would be up for such a switch as well.
ComicBook.com caught up with both Black Canary Juliana Harkavy and Michael Rowe Aka Deadshot and asked them for their thoughts on a potential hop over to LoT. Unsurprisingly, they both love the idea. For Harkavy, she’ll hopefully be appearing in Green Arrow and the Canaries, anyway, but she’s still open to a Legends role, too.

The CW may have announced its schedule for the 2020-22 season, but there were some shows missing from the list of announcements from the network.
Katy Keene, which wraps its freshman season tonight, has been left in limbo.
The Riverdale spinoff, which stars Lucy Hale as the titular character, has not been given word on its future.
Deadline is reporting that the network will not be making a decision on the future of the show for a few weeks yet, and it will all come down to the streaming numbers.
The CW has full stacking rights of the episode, meaning that all episodes are available to stream on The CW's digital platform.
It is also getting a second streaming home on HBO Max, but the linear numbers have been soft, with the show averaging around 500,000 viewers and a 0.1 rating among adults 18-49.
As a spinoff of Riverdale, the network probably expected better.

If all goes well, the Emerald Archer’s legacy will continue in the Arrowverse next season in the form of spinoff show Green Arrow and the Canaries. Before Arrow ended, the producers slipped in a backdoor pilot for the prospective follow-up series, setting up the adventures of Oliver Queen’s daughter Mia, as she fights crime in a futuristic Star City, along with a time-displaced Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).
The show’s 2040 setting might mean it’s separate from the rest of the Arrowverse, but star Kat McNamara still has high hopes that other CW heroes will turn up on the spinoff. In fact, while speaking to TooFab recently, the actress named the three characters she’d most like to see appear on Green Arrow and the Canaries.

Arrow may be over, but the show's legacy was set to be carried on in Green Arrow and the Canaries.
A backdoor pilot of the series aired as the penultimate episode of Arrow back in January and starred Katherine McNamara, Juliana Harkavy, and Katie Cassidy.
The response was positive with the episode netting non-crossover season highs, and the fans seemed enthusiastic about it.
It's been months and fans have been given no updates about the future of the potential series, and Cassidy has now shared that she's feeling "confident" that The CW will pick it up.
"I don't know, honestly," she told TV Line when asked about the project.
"I'm a very positive person, so I feel confident that we'll go [to series]. If there was ever a time for a three-hander, all-female badass show, now is the time! So I'm not worried. I'm feeling pretty good about it."

Will Arrow‘s legacy indeed continue, in the form of the female-led Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff?
The Arrowverse’s flagship series wrapped its eight-season run back on Jan. 28, and it has been three months since The CW ordered both Superman & Lois and its Walker, Texas Ranger reboot straight to series, with nary a frame of film shot for either. But then again… The CW has not picked up any other pilots, in part because of the pandemic-related production shutdown and with a medium-sized question mark looming over the May Upfronts, at which the broadcast networks typically reveal their plans for the new season.
