‘Fly Me to the Moon’ trailer lets Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum play among the stars [Watch]
“Fly Me to the Moon,” a Space Race-set romantic comedy starring two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, is about to blast off. On Monday, Apple TV+ released a trailer for the film, which lands on screens this summer via a distribution deal with Sony Pictures.
“Fly Me to the Moon” tells a fictitious story set in the late ‘60s during the lead-up to the Moon Landing. Johansson, who also serves as a producer, stars as Kelly Jones, a marketing mastermind hired by NASA to improve the space program’s image. She has professional and romantic tension with Cole Davis (Tatum), a by-the-book launch commander. Things get really wild when Jones is ordered to film a fake moon landing, just in case the real one doesn’t work. And yes, there is a Stanley Kubrick joke.

On the morning of July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins sat atop another Saturn V at Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. The three-stage 363-foot rocket used its 7.5 million pounds of thrust to propel them into space and into history.
On July 20, 1969, at 10:56 p.m. Edt, Armstrong planted the first human foot on another world. With more than half a billion people watching on television, he climbed down the ladder and proclaimed: “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”
And now some 55 years later, NASA is preparing to send people back to the lunar surface. Scheduled for September 2025, the Artemis II flight test will be NASA’s first mission with crew under Artemis and will pave the way to land the first woman and next man on the Moon on Artemis III. Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum lead an ensemble cast in Greg Berlanti’s comedy about the moon landing. Watch the first Fly Me To The Moon trailer.
Before she (reportedly) heads off to Jurassic City, Scarlett Johansson has a pit stop to make; the moon.
Well, kind of, at least. Johansson stars alongside Channing Tatum in Greg Berlanti’s new comedy about a team faking the moon landing, in case the real mission goes awry.
Take a look at the trailer.
It’s all in good fun, but there is a disturbing amount of theories about the moon landing being fake, so the film’s premise is certainly a juicy one.
Here’s the official synopsis: Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, Fly Me To The Moon is a sharp, stylish comedy-drama set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Brought in to fix NASA’s public image,...

Sony and Apple have released the first trailer for “Fly Me to the Moon,” a romantic comedy starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, which is set to premiere on July 12. The film is set against the 1960s space race and features Johansson as a marketing exec hired by NASA to film a fake moon landing in case the real mission fails. Apple won the project in a $100 million deal following a bidding war in 2022, and the project was formerly known as “Project Artemis.”
Chris Evans was first set to play Tatum’s role, while Oscar nominee Johansson — who also produces — has been attached to the film since its inception. Jason Bateman was originally set as the film’s director but left the project due to creative differences. His exit altered the shooting schedule and meant Evans could not complete the project and Netflix’s “Pain Hustlers” at the same time.

Earlier, it had been reported that Sony had made a deal with Apple Films in which the studio got to distribute two high-profile movies globally before getting settled at its home on the Apple TV+ app. Sony arose as the victor in a bidding war for the two films — Wolfs, starring Oceans trilogy buddies George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and Project Artemis, which features Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum (although now it is being reported that the title may change). The acquisitions mirror a similar distributing deal Sony has with Apple for Ridley Scott‘s recent historical epic, Napoleon, which gave the movie a release on November 22 with a 45-day theatrical window.

Following their distribution partnership on Napoleon, Apple Studios and Sony Pictures will be teaming up once again to theatrically release Wolfs and Project Artemis, two more huge Apple Originals.
As we head into 2024, the slate of Apple Originals headed for theatrical releases continues to expand and boy are we thankful for it.

Exclusive: The caliber of the ensemble for Apple Original Films’ Project Artemis continued to rise on Tuesday, with the addition of three-time Academy Award nominee Woody Harrelson (Triangle of Sadness).
Plot details for the film, set against the space race of the 1960s, remain under wraps — and it’s not yet clear who Harrelson will be playing. But the in-demand actor rounds out a cast led by Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum. Others set, as previously announced, include Jim Rash, Ray Romano, Anna Garcia, Donald Elise Watkins, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Nick Dillenburg and Christian Zuber.
Directing the pic written by Rose Gilroy is TV powerhouse Greg Berlanti, who yesterday signed an enormous new four-year exclusive overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group. Johansson is producing alongside Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn for These Pictures, as well as Sarah Schechter for Berlanti Productions, with Robert Dohrmann serving as exec producer.

We've met many corrections officers on Orange Is the New Black, and even more get added to the mix in season six. One of the guards we already knew from past seasons is Co Ryder Blake, played by Nick Dillenburg, whom you probably remember as being Mormon.
Dillenburg only has a handful of credits, and all of them are from TV shows. He made his acting debut as an officer on Law & Order, and we didn't see Dillenburg in anything else for four years until he appeared as a cop again in the show Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
He continued his man-in-uniform tour as an armed guard on Person of Interest. After that, he played a detective on Blue Bloods, a show that another Oitnb character also appeared in.
Following his longstanding role on Oitnb, Dillenburg appeared in the 2017 short The Bracket Theory (and actually...

In “Mary Page Marlowe,” Tracy Letts, the Tony-winning actor (“Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”) and Pulitzer and Tony-winning playwright (“August: Osage County”), takes his cue from a sage passage from the writings of Joan Didion: “I think we are well-advised to keep on nodding terms with the people we used to be. Otherwise, they turn up unannounced and surprise us.”
Mary Page, who is played by six different actresses (including Blair Brown and the freshly Emmy-nominated Tatiana Maslany) at ten stages of her life in this poetic mood piece, is the kind of character who grows, and grows, and grows on you. When first met, she’s 40 years old, separating from her husband, and preparing to relocate from Dayton, Ohio, to Lexington, Kentucky, a move that unsettles her two children. As played by Susan Pourfar, she’s almost comically stressed out, trying to juggle the complicated work and...

When it comes to rewarding the best comedic cast on television, the SAG Awards often simply go with the biggest cast. Recent winners like “Orange is the New Black” (2014-2016), “Glee” (2009), “Desperate Housewives” (2004-2005) and “Ally McBeal” (1998) all prevailed thanks in part to having the most cast members on the voting ballot. Interestingly enough, all four of these were also hour-long dramedies, which suggests SAG voters are more apt to give the prize to large casts when they’re also in large productions.
What does this statistic mean in terms of predicting the 2018 SAG Awards? “Orange is the New Black” once again boasts the biggest comedy cast with a record-setting 45 men and women nominated for the Netflix prison series. That’s up from 37 cast members in 2016, 34 in 2015, and 40 in 2014. Of this year’s other nominated ensembles, Netflix’s “Glow” consists of 18 cast members, followed by HBO’s “Veep” at 15, ABC...
