Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, has picked up a pitch for a TV series from writers Daniel Mackey and Seth Fisher, and executive producer McG.
The series will deal with the infamous mystery about Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova. Thought killed as a teenager during the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, there were long standing rumors of her survival and various young women came forward claiming to be her.
This take will be set in Paris in the roaring 1920s. Having escape Communist Russia, she sets her sights on avenging the death of her family and joins forces with an elite espionage agency working to prevent another world war - effectively serving as a female spy influencing major events in the first part of the 20th century.

This week, National Geographic's yellow carpet was laid out for the cast of the upcoming four-hour television movie "Saints and Strangers." The two-night premiere shows a side of Thanksgiving that isn't taught in schools or known by most Americans. It details the reportedly true complications faced between the Native Americans and the Plymouth settlers once they stepped off the Mayflower into the "New World"; the large ensemble cast features Vincent Kartheiser, Anna Camp and Ron Livingston. Writer Seth Fisher, when asked by Indiewire why he told this story, responded that "It's fascinating. This is a story that in our country everyone sort of knows, or they think they know. It's taught in grade school. But for some odd reason it's never been dramatized on film, so it was a very obvious opportunity to get right. DC Comics' Green Lantern: Willworld reprint has sparked Seth Fisher memorials. The reissued miniseries was illustrated by the late artist alongside writer J.M. DeMatteis. It was released earlier this week. Fisher was an up-and-coming artist who had worked on titles including Vertigo's Happydale: Devils in the Desert, Fantastic Four/Iron Man: Big In Japan and The Flash: Time Flies. His life was cut short in 2006 at the age of 33 when he fell from a seven-storey roof in Osaka, Japan, where he had been living for a few years.
