A wedding with a dark secret is at the heart of this strange, silly action movie, dragged out by abrupt flashes forward and back
You can’t say the title doesn’t warn you. Quoting the darkest part of the traditional wedding vow and revolving around both matrimony and mortality, this quite silly, rather weird action movie starts with an unnamed bride (Natalie Burn) and groom (Ser’Darius Blain) preparing to walk down the aisle. But before the Wedding March can start, the film cuts to a different point in time where the couple in question are frolicking on the Puerto Rican beach where the film is set and shot. They go to a bar where they meet another, older couple (Jason Patric and Nicole Arlyn) and then another crash cut jumps us to yet another point in the story when the bride is running away from her husband, but is...

Will Trent’s top-notch detective skills won’t be needed to crack the case of who Clark Gregg plays in the ABC drama’s Season 2 premiere.

Nothing could prepare you for the giant mess that Timothy Woodward Jr.’s Ready Or Not knock-off turns out to be. I mean, for a film to not be a satire and still come off as though it were parodying itself is the kind of well-rounded defeat that not even the overeager action sequences could have prevented. Treading the line between two timelines that seemingly come together to throw an off-registry deadly wedding gift the Bride’s way, Til Death Do Us Part doesn’t skimp on the bloodshed. Here’s how our gorgeous Bride-in-red aims for a life away from the one that’s been holding her hostage.
Spoilers Ahead
Plot Synopsis: What Happens in the Film?
If I were to guess why Til Death Do Us Part didn’t even bother naming most of its characters, I would’ve chalked it up to the creative team’s passion...

As Til Death Do Us Part opens The Best Man sits in a pew working on his speech as upbeat music plays in the background. That’s followed by similar glimpses of other wedding party members prepping for the ceremony. A flashback to The Bride and Groom, nobody in this film has a name, on vacation serves to reinforce the happy image.
But Til Death Do Us Part isn’t a Hallmark Channel rom-com or Lifetime Channel thriller. Because when The Bride gets cold feet and bails on the wedding, we find out everyone involved in the ceremony is a highly skilled assassin. Now the stood-up Groom wants more than just his ring back, and their employer doesn’t take resignations well.

When Is Jumanji 4 Coming? Well, the iconic Robin Williams first brought us into the enchanting world of Jumanji through the 1995 film, where a magical board game sets forth a thrilling adventure accompanied by chaotic twists.
Over the years, the franchise continued to captivate audiences with its successful sequels, starting with “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” in 2017 and “Jumanji: The Next Level” in 2019.
These episodes broadened the imaginative universe, presenting fresh yet recognizable characters brought to life by Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black. The overwhelming box office success of these movies left no doubt that a fourth Jumanji film was inevitable.
Hiram Garcia, the president of Seven Bucks Productions, the studio behind the recent installments, confirmed that the fourth movie was a definite reality, and discussions about it were already underway.
Joe Johnston directed the original “Jumanji” movie, featuring Robin Williams as Alan Parrish, who stumbles upon...

"Where is that beautiful bride?" Cineverse has revealed an official trailer for a horror action thriller titled Til Death Do Us Part, another new bride-fights-back film in the same vein as Ready or Not (which is still the queen of this growing subgenre). This is getting a full theatrical release in August, they're hoping people will come out to see it. After bailing on her wedding, a former bride-to-be must fight off her ex-groom and seven angry killer groomsmen in order to survive the night. Til Death Do Us Part is a fresh and frightening, genre-bending ride led by Natalie Burn as the Bride, Ser'Darius Blain as the Groom, Cam Gigandet, Jason Patric, D.Y. Sao, Pancho Moler, & Orlando Jones. Brimming with stylish violence & blood-soaked action, Til Death Do Us Part seamlessly blends the slick, kinetic thrills of John Wick with the dark, twisted revenge tale of Kill Bill. Sounds cool,...

Marriage means different things to different people, but however one looks at it, it’s a major commitment. It’s not surprising that, as the big day approaches, some people get nervous. In this case the bride (Natalie Burn) is visibly unsettled by the sight of a mother with a small child – but it’s not that she’s daunted by the prospect of parenthood. On the contrary, this is the life she wants - and so she acknowledges, finally, that no matter how much she loves the groom (Ser’Darius Blain), she just can’t bring herself to commit to remaining a professional assassin.
Even after being jilted at the altar, the groom hopes that they can work things out. He asks his best man (Cam Gigandet) and seven groomsmen to detain her at the house she has bolted to until he can get there. It ought to be a simple operation.

Okay, so why is ComicMix reviewing a football movie? Well, first of all, we’re a little more than just comics and secondly, it stars Captain Marvel himself, so there’s that.
Besides, it’s about a real-life hero, and who doesn’t love heroes?
Kurt Warner’s story is well worth exploring and the Lionsgate Home Entertainment release of last year’s American Underdog does a fine job recounting the story. For those unfamiliar, Warner was a star at Northern Iowa but spent four years unable to get signed by an NFL team. Finally, the Green Bay Packers signed but released him in 1994. He then played three seasons for the Iowa Barnstormers in the brief-lived Arena Football League before finally making it to the NFL with the St. Louis Rams. Once there, he led what has been dubbed the Greatest Show on Turn, culminating in winning Super Bowl Xxxiv.

“The Big Leap” starred Scott Foley, Teri Polo, Piper Perabo, Simone Recasner, Kevin Daniels, Ser’Darius Blain, Jon Rudnitsky, Mallory Jansen and Anna Grace Barlow.
The drama from creator/executive producer Liz Heldens, director/executive producer Jason Winer and executive producer Sue Naegle premiered as part of Fox’s fall lineup. It averaged a 0.4 rating among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic and 2.8 million multiplatform viewers throughout its 11-episode run in Nielsen’s Live + Same Day data, which counts a week’s worth of delayed viewing where available.

"I must make you suffer." Lionsgate has revealed a trailer for yet another straight-to-the-trash Bruce Willis action movie, which he keeps churning out more & more of recently. This latest one is Fortress: Sniper's Eye, apparently a sequel to the action cyber-thriller Fortress from last year; they found a different director for this one. Which didn't seem to help much. Retired CIA agent Robert Carter Michaels and his son Paul have committed themselves to rebuilding their relationship after their epic last encounter spent protecting the highly secure secret base: the Fortress. When Paul's wife, Melissa, is abducted, he and Robert embark on a deadly journey through the rugged mountains in hopes of saving her. The movie stars Jesse Metcalfe, Bruce Willis, Chad Michael Murray, Ser'Darius Blain, Kelly Greyson, Natalie Burn, Welker White, and Gabrielle Haugh. As forgettable as they come. I think even nodded off watching the trailer. Here's the official...

Arriving just in time to be an attractive four-quadrant option for family outings to the megaplexes during the holiday season — provided, of course, that the latest Covid surge doesn’t cause another round of movie theater shuttering — “American Underdog” is a thoroughly predictable yet hugely entertaining sports biopic that is bound to please almost anyone who’s not a sourball cynic or a snarky critic.
Much of its appeal stems from Zachary Levi’s winningly sincere portrayal of Kurt Warner, the football phenom whose improbable ascent from grocery clerk to NFL superstar by way of a warmup in the Arena League is the sort of true-life story that seems almost too good to be true, even when it’s told as well as it is here.
But while Levi undeniably is the most valuable player, he likely wouldn’t score quite so impressively without a strong supporting-player team that includes Anna Paquin as Brenda,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Big Leap Season 1 finale “We Make Our Own Light.”] The finale of The Big Leap (the show within the Fox show) hit a few snags (including a blackout and a couple of dancers falling through a trap door), but it was a success and they’ve even started talking about plans for Season 2. As for whether we’ll see any of that come to fruition, that has yet to be seen. Over its 11 episodes — executive producer Liz Heldens told TVLine “it was always going to be” that — viewers watched as amateur dancers prepared for a big production of Swan Lake, followed the very complicated relationships of everyone involved in the show, and heard quite a few times (including in the finale) about how they wanted a Season 2. Nick (Scott Foley) was already planning a major storyline for it: Brittney (Anna Grace Barlow) is pregnant with Reggie’s (Ser’Darius Blain) baby,...

The Season 1 finale of Fox’s The Big Leap offered its share of drama and happy endings for many of its characters on Monday night while leaving plenty of wiggle room to continue should the network choose to renew the series.
The episode titled “We Make Our Own Light” picks up after Paula’s (Piper Perabo) untimely death in last week’s episode that saw the show within a show with no power and everyone left in the dark. Lionsgate has debuted the full official trailer for their football movie titled American Underdog, opening in theaters on Christmas Day during the holidays later this year. Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the series premiere of “The Big Leap.”
“The Big Leap,” the title of Simone Recasner’s new television series, has multiple meanings for the rising star. It is the name of the reality dance competition within the show, on which the main characters are competing, in the Fox dramedy, and it also refers to the chance they are taking in being a part of the show at all. “The Big Leap” is Recasner’s first major acting role, reflecting the way her own life is about to change as she appears on screens in millions of homes across the country.
“Being new to the form of filmmaking, the ebbs and flows of set life has been a big adjustment for me,” Recasner admits.
Her specific role of single mom and aspiring dancer Gabby comes with its own complications, of course.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Monday’s series premiere of Fox’s “The Big Leap.”)
“The Big Leap” took a big risk in the closing moments of its first episode Monday, when suspended Detroit Lions player Reggie Sadler (Ser’Darius Blain) lifted aspiring dancer Gabby Lewis (Simone Recasner) over his head in her second-chance audition for “The Big Leap,” the Fox drama’s reality-dance-show-within-a-show that follows contestants putting on a modern reimagining of “Swan Lake.”
A lot was at stake for Gabby and Reggie as she taught him the choreography for the audition in hopes they would both land a slot on the show. For Gabby, this is her second chance at a dance career after her original plan to attend NYU was derailed when she got pregnant right out of high school. Reggie, meanwhile, is bleeding money and desperate to change his image after multiple NFL suspensions due to...

Fox has lately made its name, and its success, on televised music competitions — everything from “The Masked Singer” and “Dancer” franchises to a revived “Name That Tune” to the amiably strange “I Can See Your Voice.” And so it makes a certain kind of sense that this fall, it launches a new scripted series about … the inner workings of a reality-tv contest.
On “The Big Leap,” various Detroit residents are wooed by a series of the same name, one that aims to find the cast for a televised reimagining of “Swan Lake.” These folks are not necessarily trained ballerinas, just people who have something inside to get out. That “The Big Leap” follows the story of a reality show makes its storytelling economical — we see the big themes of these characters’ lives easily in part because a near-omnipotent producer (Scott Foley) points them out.

During Scott Foley’s 25-year film and television career, he’s gone meta and played someone working in the industry (as Roman Bridger in “Scream 3”), and he’s worked on a competition program (as a host and judge on “Ellen’s Next Great Designer”). But now his latest project, “The Big Leap” for Fox, combines those two elements, creating a wholly different experience for the veteran actor.
Foley stars as Nick Smart, the boss behind the dance show-within-the-show on “The Big Leap” from executive producers Liz Heldens and Jason Winer. (The show-within-the-show is also titled “The Big Leap.”) Nick is a fast-talking producer who never hesitates to let those around him know how urgent his requests are. He also has a keen eye for the genre, innately knowing what characters the audience will want to watch and how to orchestrate the right storytelling around them to make that audience return.

Newcomer Simone Recasner is proud to represent body diversity in the upcoming Fox comedy The Big Leap, something she wishes she’d seen on TV growing up.
