Ahead of the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival beginning on Wednesday in Los Angeles, Netflix has announced new stand-up specials from seven comics: Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Ali Wong, Jo Koy, Bert “The Machine” Kreischer, Deon Cole, Fortune Feimster and Michelle Buteau.
Iglesias has set two new specials, with one taping at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla. this July and another with details yet to come. These mark his fourth and fifth Netflix specials, following “Stadium Fluffy” (2022) — taped at a sold-out show during the inaugural Netflix Is a Joke that made him the first-ever comedian to perform at Dodger Stadium — as well as “One Show Fits All” (2019) and “I’m Sorry For What I Said When I Was Hungry” (2016). Iglesias also starred in and executive produced the multi-cam comedy series “Mr. Iglesias,” which ran on Netflix for two seasons from 2019 to 2020.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has provided an update to fans after undergoing open-heart surgery, offering some encouragement that he won’t be away from business for too long. The 76-year-old actor and former Governor of California shared a photograph from recovery, including a sight gag about his new pacemaker, depicted as a cartoon-esque time bomb.
“I’ve gotten so many kind messages from all over the world, but a lot of people have asked if my pacemaker will cause any problems with ‘Fubar’ Season 2. Absolutely not,” Schwarzenegger wrote in a post Thursday afternoon. “I will be ready to film in April and you can only see it if you’re really looking for it.”

Three open-heart surgeries and a pacemaker haven’t slowed Arnold Schwarzenegger down — or stifled his sense of humor.
After revealing the procedures earlier this week, the Governator posted a photo of himself today with a note thanking all those who sent him messages. He assured fans the health issues will not keep him from shooting Netflix’s Fubar, which was renewed for a second season last year.
“Absolutely not,” Schwarzenegger said about whether he’d be prevented from shooting. “I will be ready to film in April.”
The actor also added a bit of levity. The photo he shared shows a reclining Schwarzenegger with a red wire running out of his ear into what looks like a Looney Tunes version of a time bomb resting on his chest.

Review: In the sub-genre of body swap movies, very few films stand out as quality films. The concept itself is ridiculous and silly and tends to aim more toward family-friendly fare like Freaky Friday and 13 Going On 30. Still, even those movies benefitted from some personality and edge that helped them earn some originality, a quality sorely lacking in Netflix’s new Christmas-themed comedy Family Switch. If the film and television industries have been challenged like never before in a year of double strikes, in the world of comedy, the story is very different.
In truth, stand-up has never been bigger, with one story after another rolling out of comedians setting records for attendance and viewership. Take Nate Bargatze, for example, who earlier this year set an Amazon streaming record with his special Hello World, before going on to sell a record number of tickets to an April show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and bringing SNL its highest-rated episode of the season. Or Matt Rife, a young up-and-comer with 10+ years under his belt, who hit the upper echelons of comedy seemingly overnight after blowing up on TikTok, selling out a global tour encompassing some 600,000 tickets in less than 48 hours, before going on to land his own forthcoming Netflix special, Matt Rife: Natural Selection. Family Switch‘s age/identity swapping premise has been done many times before. In fact, Jennifer Garner even references her prior age-swapping comedy 13 Going on 30 in Family Switch‘s trailer. But Netflix is hoping audiences are ready for a new 2023 version of the tried-and-true premise with Garner and Ed Helms in starring roles.
The cast includes Emma Myers, Brady Noon, Bashir Salahuddin, Matthias Schweighöfer, and Xosha Roquemore. Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Paul Scheer, Fortune Feimster, and Rita Moreno also star.
McG directs from a screenplay by Victoria Strouse and Adam Sztykiel, based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s Bedtime For Mommy novel. McG, Jennifer Lawrence, Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Nicole King Solaka, and Mary Viola serve as producers, with David Hyman, Jason Rosenthal, and Victoria Strause executive producing.

Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms, Emma Myers, and Brady Noon star in this family comedy based on the book called "Bedtime For Mommy" by Amy Krouse-Rosenthal. The comedy also features Bashir Salahuddin, Matthias Schweighöfer,...

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is back at the top.
The CBS show took the ratings crown during late-night’s return last week, despite tough competition at the start of last week from Jimmy Kimmel Live!
It comfortably beat Kimmel’s show and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon over the course of Monday through Thursday in the Live+3 Day ratings, per Nielsen.
However, the most surprising aspect of its ratings were perhaps the delayed viewing lift, scoring its highest three-day lift in over five years.
The Late Show averaged 2.79M viewers across the week in L+3, beating Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which averaged 1.78M by over a million viewers, and The Tonight Show, which averaged 1.42M. The Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! air Monday through Thursday, while Fallon has a show on Friday nights (those full L+3 numbers are not in yet).

You don't hire Arnold Schwarzenegger to be your Chief Action Officer and then don't double down on shows featuring him. Netflix is avoiding that mistake, announcing a second season for spy comedy Fubar, which stars the Austrian Oak. And along with that, there was a blooper reel from the first.
Fubar, created by Nick Santora, follows what happens when a father (Schwarzenegger's Luke Brunner) and daughter (Top Gun Maverick's Monica Barbaro as Emma) learn that they’ve each secretly been working as CIA Operatives for years, they realize their entire relationship has been a lie and they truly don’t know one another at all.
Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Fabiana Udenio, Milan Carter and Travis Van Winkle are all in the cast for this one, though there's no date yet for the new season.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s first TV series is getting a second season.

Well, we can file this one under the least surprising TV news of the year.
Netflix has confirmed it is staying in business with Arnold Schwarzenegger with the pickup of Fubar Season 2.
The series got off the ground running for the streaming service in May, vaulting to the #1 spot in the weekly Netflix Top 10.
Any project featuring the Terminator alum will perform well, and it's because he's a global star.
Fubar reached the Top 10 in 90 countries worldwide, solidifying its renewal after a decent reaction to the episodes from viewers.
It's unclear when Fubar season 2 will actually premiere, but it probably won't be in production in the near future.
The WGA strike will delay several projects, so the writing won't resume until a fair deal is reached.
Netflix confirmed Fubar's fate during the Tudum Global Fan Event, which also included an Elite Season 7 premiere date, a Witcher Sneak Peek, and so much more.

Hollywood icon and literal living legend Clint Eastwood turned 93 on Wednesday, marking yet another amazing milestone in a life full of them. And in honor of the “Unforgiven” director’s big day, fellow action star Arnold Schwarzenegger paid tribute in a short but nevertheless touching Instagram post.
“Happy birthday, Clint! You’ve inspired me, you’ve mentored me, and you’re a wonderful friend. At 93, you prove that heroes don’t retire – they reload. You’re a legend,” Schwarzenegger wrote in a message posted along with a recent but undated photo of the pair skiing.
