Son of Marv Marinovich, he drew attention and controversy at how he was trained by his father to become the prototypical quarterback. The regiment included strength training techniques Marv developed for the Oakland Raiders, and not allowing Todd to eat processed foods. Todd played for USC just two years, then for the Raiders for another two years until drug abuse drummed him out of football.
