B.J. Stack IV
- Writer
- Director
- Actor
BJ Stack IV was born in Buffalo, New York on July 24, 1983 and grew up
thirty minutes south of Buffalo in the small town of Elma. Growing up,
BJ acquired a passion for sports most notably baseball which he played
all the way through college. It wasn't until 1999 when BJ first saw the
movie "The Blair Witch Project," that he became interested in making
films. Throughout his college years while playing baseball for Canisius
College he also began writing short movies. In 2004 BJ finished writing
his first full length feature script which he plans on filming sometime
in the future.
For the next few years BJ stepped away from writing to focus on several careers only to come back to writing in 2008 when he wrote the story for his first feature film. Saving up money BJ financed the movie * Cemetery which was filmed with his sister Katlin Stack and friend Brandon Murray during the summer of 2009. Learning as much as he could about editing, BJ used the next 4 months to edit * Cemetery. In January of 2010, a year and a half after the project first took shape, the final cut of BJ's first feature film was made.
Although BJ has no formal education in film, his admiration of writer/director Quentin Tarrentino has taught him much about dialogue, and directing. BJ is also a big fan of Kevin Smith, claiming "Chasing Amy" as one of his favorite films of all time.
BJ resides in Elma and other than making films, is a teacher and assistant baseball coach at Erie Community College.
